Hello, first of all i am new in this forum and new in using android cellphone.
i have purchased LG G2 unlocked.
can you please help me regarding few questions.
1. i want to change my mms settings from root access because i cannot find any option in mobile phone
i am unable to send or receive mms
2. i want to change my Data Settings like mobile no, owner's name, emails and Internet settings APN or etc from root access..
the data setting which we can view from ##data#
i am using my phone in Pakistan, on UFONE Network
i have LG G2 LS980 Sprint Version
my phone is rooted and i have root browser installed as well
please help me to fix these questions

Hello, welcome to a great site with loads of info on our model, plus 100's of other android models!
1. Get an APN app from the google playstore, such as Tweakker or Offline Apn, use it to get access to the APN menu then manually add the APN settings you need.
2. You can make changes in that ##DATA# menu, you just need to get your MSL #, when you hit edit, a box pops up, enter the MSL and it will allow you to edit these fields, I only changed 2 fields in that menu MMSC and Multimedia to my carrier.

i had installed tweakker but there is not pakistani networks available in that app and about offline APN can you tell me the exact name of the app please.

no problem, cheers..... it is called Offline SIM APN Database, use the free version and hit the "search APN settings for this SIM" button, then pick a carrier (any will really work, just to get the menu) , then hit the "Go to Android APN Settings" button there a menu will pop up and you can add a new apn, enter your needed APN settings.

Thanks i have tried this app and it's not saving the apn setting saying problem in creating apn setting
and also tried APN Manager pro.. not working anyone. i i have i think there is not any option are working
it's saying " you are using Ice Cream Sandwich. change is this version no longer allow for the direct writing of APN settings. the setting found will need to be manual copy and pasted. click go to android apn settings. and create a new apn entry then press back button on your device and press the copy button next to the value on the screen. return to the apn entry and paste each value into the new apn one by one" .when i am going there nothing works there is not any option of creating new APN or anything.
find YOUR apn settings for YOUR carrier, open the APN settings menu, add NEW APN, fill out required fields, then you hit the menu button on your phone and choose SAVE APN, it will save and you will have a radio button next to the newly created APN!

tried that also. unable to get/open "Add New APN" option
when you are in the android APN settings menu, you have to hit the phones menu button, the 3 lines, it will say add new apn

i have tried all things but i am also not getting my setting done. except one thing which is upgraded OS. but i am aware that if my phone get locked or i will be unable to install new firmware. i dont know which firmware i have to install after 4.2.2. and i have not tried that before.

I would not upgrade to kk 4.4.2 to fix this issue, I personally would look into changing radios, you might also try doing the SIM unlock tutorial look for the part about making APNs stick.
Are you sure you have root permissions? confirm with root checker, root with ioroot if not

ok i will try to sim unlock tutorial and yes i am sure i have root checker installed. and rooted with ioroot..
and i am afraid if my phone get locked by trying that. i have't tried that before.
and can you tell me which method i have to try ?
i need other help also last night i received and long sms but when i am trying to send, it's sending into multiple parts. and one another problem is i cannot send or receive mms. can anyone tell me how to fix this problem also.

Activate wifi and go to Parameters/SonyEricsson/Download parameters for MMS and Internet.
The solution is a change of SIM
I try to download the settings but don't work, i get error message!

Do a clean flash with Wotanserver. Might help.

Some people reported here that it doesn't work with lock code on......
I have this problem too, the thing is that if you have the SIM LOCK enabled(PIN) your APN settings will never appear, you can't create them or save anything, but if you disable it then you can download both internet and MMS APNs.
I dunno why this is happening because i didn't have this problem before.
If you look at your internet settings and you have [] around any or them delete the [] and you will be back in business

I was searching for this solution for 3 days. Finally today I've changed the SIM card with Telenor Helpdesk to a brand new one, but didn't helped. I've spoke with SE Helpdesk, he couldn't help.

I call my network provider and they send me via SMS the internet settings, i try to put it on and i get no reply message !
After this i try to type manualy the settings in a new APN profile and when i try to save it... do nothing, can't save it !!
Any idea what can i do now ?

Hi. I recently flashed and rooted my Xperia Arc from Rogers to ICS I was quite proud of myself and spent an entire day. Anyways long story short. I've had a few issues since then.
1. My keyboard settings seem to stay the same (EG: I keep having things spell checked even if I change the settings and save them)
2. I have a notification that says "Internet & MMS Settings Could not download. Tap here to try again."
I have a feeling they are connected.
So. From what i have learned from other threads and people experiencing this issue it means my APN settings are all out of whack because of the flash to ICS. I finally hunted down the APN settings I need from Rogers on their website. And as I was entering this in. Settings crashed.
"Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" I have restarted my phone numerous times and experimented with wi-fi and data being turned off/on. Nothing is helping me with the crash.
I just now also factory reset my phones settings.
How do I get rid of this error so that I may fix the problem I had to begin with?
Also... The error for internet settings disapeered...
But I still think Im unable to use the MMS etc.
No one knows how to help me out ? It must be fixable.

Seriously though. I don't see how re-flashing and rooting will help me T_T. If I end up with the exact same "Could not download internet & mms" settings stuff again.

after you reflash your settings will not crash when you go to the apn setting
then you have to manually enter the internet settings

For what its worth, whenever I'm flashing a new rom ( which is like most weekends) I keep a few screen shots on my sd card of my apn settings.
where I am in Australia the automatic downloading of internet and mms settings doesn't accurately pick up my carrier, so it never works for me. but yeah, i found screen shots were a handy way to keep the info handy.:laugh:
After update I can't send/recieve mms on mobile network only on wifi calling and I can no longer edit my apn. I can create a new one but the existing apn will not edit. I press the selection and nothing happens. Anyone else have this issue?

Can you please tell me if you can do this?
With the following settings…
Mobile Data: DISABLED
WiFi: ENABLED
WiFi Calling: ENABLED
Now can u try texting yourself a photo?...you know, an MMS.
Can you let me know if it successfully goes though? I may be able to help you after. Not sure though

Can u also post a screenshot of your 'Tethering & Networks' and your 'Mobile Networks' settings please? I'm curious to see exactly what's going on in that section to be causing this for you.
Well I reflashed version M and I can now send/recieve mms, but I still cannot edit the apn. I can create a new one, but cannot edit existing apn. Like for instance if I want to change the name from T-Mobile LTE to something else I can't same with all apn settings. I press to edit but it does nothing.

TMOBILE APN is locked down. Just make a new one edit how you like and select it and you good

It wasn't locked down on C because I was using @autoprime tethering mod. I wonder if they're trying to block tethering, but you can create a new apn with the exact settings and switch protocol from there so I don't know.

But I will say if you replace the apn xml with autos apn or the apn in Add 3g/ipv4 support + more you will be able to edit default again. Just replace it with a root explorer and reboot. you might also need to wipe dalvik

Yeah I just realized part of his mod made for the ability to edit default. I was able to edit my default apn on my first G2 which confused me a bit but it was an international model.
Hey, I have a HTC Desire 816 (US) for Virgin Mobile. I like the Google Messenger and Hangouts app however I can't seem to send or receive MMS for either app. The stock Messages app works just fine. I've done some research and it appears I need to look into my APN settings. However, I have no idea how to get to those on the phone. The directions that are given lead to know where. Can anybody tell me how to fix this. Thank you.
You probably need to download an app from the play store, I think the one I used for CyanogenMod was called Change APN. Just opens the APN menu for you. Also, the one site I found with Virgin Mobile US APN details had it wrong. But if you're on CM 12, their pre-set APN for VM is correct, you just need to select it in the menu. For the Sense-based ROMs, they don't seem to have it by default.

Thanks for trying to help. I am currently on stock rom and it appears that Virgin Mobile has the APN on lock down. I have not found a way changing it and getting it to work. Everytime I try to add a new apn with CHANGE APN app it says saved but doesn't add it. The one that's in there has a locked symbol on it. It could be because I am on stock rom. However I am rooted and S-Off, I still can't change it. I haven't tried CyanogenMod because I want a fully functional phone. Anybody else have any ideas. All I want to do is use hangout or google messenger with MMS and it work. I think it stupid that its included on the phone and it's not even fully functional. I can get chompsms to work but it has it's own apn settings.

That's interesting cause I personally use hangouts and am also on stock and rooted with s off and it works fine for me. What kind of error is it giving you? Is it immediately failing or failing after trying to send for awhile?
So I unlocked my note 3 to be used on cricket and I need to enter the APN setting but I am getting
Unable to view the access point name settings. Access is restricted for the current user profile.

I tried rebooting, I tried to ODIN the stock 5.0 rom time and time again with the same result. any way to fix this? Thanks In advance
