I've had my M8 for several weeks and just started getting "Change of SIM detected. Usage from previous SIM now saved" notifications last night. Anybody having the same issue? I'll go to Verizon tech support next but I wanted to come to the experts first.
Thanks for any insight.

Sounds like your SIM card might be flaking out. Verizon should give you a free SIM card replacement if you walk into the store and show them.
Had this happen to me on a few Roms. Running gpe ROM and don't get that notification.

Same thing happened to me today. Even list service for a minute. I did a restart and hasn't happened again. Did you talk to Verizon tech support?
HTC One M8
Yes, I talked to Verizon and they recommended I remove the SIM for 10 seconds and put it back in, I haven't seen the problem since.
Thanks for the help.

I noticed that it happens when sending pictures via text. It's also happening on wifes phone. Did you take it out while powered on or off?
HTC One M8
Yes, I powered down first. Turns out my gf's M8 was having connection problems this afternoon too. I did the same for hers and things seem to be fine on both of ours. RED must be making changes or testing something.
TIP: When a SIM ejection pin isn't around, a standard staple works perfect.

Both of our phones are randomly (a couple of times a day) dropping cell connection and giving notifications that the SIM was just connected. We've already powered down and removed the cards but it's continuing. This started three days ago do I know it's a network thing but I don't know what's going on.

Yeah seems it's happening when we send picture texts and not on WiFi. There was probably something in the recent update that screwed things up.

Is anybody else having issues with other people getting delayed texts sent from galaxy s ii?
I am sending to att iPhone and they have been getting delayed texts. Never had issue with HTC sensation so I am assuming this is a galaxy s ii issue.
Can Anyone confirm this?

Mine are not delayed... Sent to my roommate's iPhone 4 when he was sitting next to me on the couch. I love Swype's censoring when you use speech to text. I think my message went something like:
"Why do you keep f****** keep censoring my *** d*** texts you piece of s*** keyboard!!"
That was the end of my childish exploits, but hey, he wanted to see the feature
if you got your sim card upgrade they there might be some delay for awhile. should be fine after 30min-1hr.

Is it on wifi this whole time?
I tried both. Wifi and 4g. Same result. My gf is on att and had been getting them delayed. If I swap my sum Sim to sensation, the problem is gone so it has to be gsii and how it sends SMS.

Same thing happening here. Most texts go through fine, but some have been delayed, or didn't ever show up. I'm going to call T-Mobile tomorrow...

any updates? Co-worker just got a GS2 and is having a delay on incoming texts, not so much with outgoing. We're both on tmo, i sent him 3 texts about 15 minutes apart took him around 3 hours for the first one and never got the other 2 before we left work, if he sends me one comes through immediately.
that's a service provider network problem, not a PHONE problem
if i sent to people on the same network, they receive it instantly
if i sent to people on a different network, they get it in a second or two

Any resolution to this issue?
For me the problem resolved itself, but I ended up getting a new SIM card from T-Mobile anyway, just to be on the safe side. It doesn't happen to me anymore.
I need help guys, I was using my phone for only a week when all of a sudden I can't call or text or listen to my voice mail... instead I keep recieving "not registered to network" messages when i try and do anything involving data. When I go to my settings to enable data, its already on, but when I look for an available network, it turns off my data.. its like a never ending loop. Regardless of which I do first. My s4 is rooted but I doubt that could be the issue becauze it worked with my phone being rooted, anyone have any solution other than replacement?

Take a look to your apn and also make sure your IME has a # like 03 instead of just a 0 also check that on mobile networks make sure that the LTE/GSMA something lik that.. Is checked.. Make sure it has the LTE...

Maybe, but why randomly stop working? Before this situation, my phone was sending me errors about how I couldnt wifi call due to an outdated sim card, so I went and got a new one, that didnt work.

Nah, when you purchase the SIM Card, its a big one but within side is a micro-sim, that you can pop out incase you desire one, but if you need the big one, you can easily pop the micro back into the big. Thanks for your help man, I guess im going, to be phoneless for a little

Same issue, tried 4 different SIM cards...only one M8 has this issue, other one works fine!!!
Same issue with mine. Rep in the store said it is a known problem but doesn't affect anything. He said pretty much all the ones they had sold did this. Tried replacing some of the phones, swapped SIM cards, etc. Some they swapped out would be OK. But he had done like a dozen and they all did this. This will be an interesting issue to see how VZW / HTC fixes it.
Talked to jetleigh from HTC today, she said there's a fix & she will personally post it here "soon". They're also communicating the fix with Verizon to tell others about it.
Hi from HTC
Hi everyone – HTC is aware of the issue. HTC will be providing a software update to Verizon HTC One m8 users that will be pushed to you shortly. In the mean time, please be assured you will not be charged for roaming by having the triangle icon appear. Appreciate your patience in the matter!”hh
I purchased a used LG G3 (LG-D850) that was previously used on ATT. I brought it to T-Mobile. I can't update to Marshmallow. T-Mobile said they can't help me and that LG can. After two hours spent with LG, they've only told me that "We didn't make Android." I pushed for advice and they finally said make ATT help. ATT says once the unit is unlocked and there's a new sim card, there's nothing they can do.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue. What is the easiest way to update? I don't need a anything rooted or anything. Or do I now?

There is still only 2 ways. Install an at&t sim or install a custom ROM.

I apologize for asking for such specifics but what is the easiest way to do the ATT route, because I spent about 3 hours with ATT on the phone and being sent to two of their stores yesterday and then they sent me to the LG Experience at Best Buy which consisted of one guy who knows LG phones who was not there and shows up "sometimes". This after ATT confirming he was there for me. See? I'm both ignorant and frustrated.

You need to go to Walmarts and buy a GoPhone sim, it will give you the ability to receive updates.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using XDA-Developers mobile app
So, get the AT&T Go Phone micro sim card. Put as little money on it as possible. Insert the card into the phone. Look for update. Hopefully find update and run it. Remove card forever. Am I getting this right, finally?
When I was at AT&T store #2 yesterday, they took a sim card from a demo phone and booted mine up. Couldn't find an available android update. Your process is different, yes?

No, the same. Sometimes the update takes a few hours.
Also I'm assuming you have a d850 running stock non rooted.
You also need wifi connection.

Correct about stock d850, non rooted. But now I'm confused. At the store, with an ATT sim card thrown in, Settings/General/About phone/Software Update/Update now showed no available updates. I'm still on 5.0.1.

All I can say, is that it worked for me, though I have since moved on to the Nexus 5x.
Good luck and if by chance it doesn't work (it should), you need to try rooting and flashing a stock based ROM.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using XDA-Developers mobile app
This is weird.
I got the card. I called ATT to activate it. They said, hang up, power down, insert the att sim card, power back up and get the update. As soon as I hung up, and before installing the ATT card, it started downloading the update. Eventually it started installing the update and then stopped. Error message said that it suspected my phone of being a rooted device and therefore would not update the software. Odd. Okay. So I powered down, installed the ATT card, powered back up, looked for software update. My phone is on the ATT network right now (thru my home wifi still) but says no software update is available. I'm still at 5.0.1.
Any idea what I did wrong?

Try a factory reset (you will lose your data)
Sent from my Nexus 5X using XDA-Developers mobile app
Wanted to give you an update. I did a factory reset. Didn't help but then I went deeper. I guess the previous owner had some rooting software underneath it all. Spent some time removing it, going back to absolutely stock. It took more effort but eventually I got it. I'm at Marshmallow Level. Thank you.
I'm just wondering how many others may be experiencing random dropped calls.
It's happened quite a few times for me.
At first I was thinking with the huge screen I might be ending the call with my face but now I'm suspecting WiFi CallIng as the culprit.
I'm going to trouble shoot today and see if I can figure this out.
I took the SIM card out of my LG V20 and just placed in the S8, I did not use the one that came with it. (not sure if that is an issue)
Also, I used package disabler to disable the phone from updating like @TEKHD suggested so I'm still on 1AQC9 baseband that it shipped wth.
Cheers
I forgot to mention I don't think any calls have dropped while using the headphones or speakerphone.

I've had few strange ones. The calls don't drop. I answer it and it instantly ends the call. A few times it texted the person calling with im busy, I'll call you right back. Like I rejected it.
Try taking out you SIM card and cleaning it with a damp cloth then dry it off completely and inserted back in the phone. I had a simular issue when I had my note 7 and that worked. I've had the s8+ for a week and haven't experienced anything like that yet.
