(I'm a noob, please keep that in mind) Whenever i want to install a rom with android 4.3 or above, my phone goes into a bootloop. It plays the startup animation from the rom and then stays stuck. I tried deleting cache and did a factory reset. When i install a 4.2 rom, my wifi doesn't work.. This happend after i unlocked the bootloader, i thought it would be over after I installed a custom rom but it didn't. So I'm kinda stuck to 4.1 now. I don't have any backups made from my stock rom... (retarded). Someone please give me the golden tip
Thanks in advance.

Edit: one thing I forgot to mention, when I was running 4.2.2 stock my wifi was working fine.

That error seems to tell you what the problem is.
One presumes the solution is to flash a stock bootloader.
Did any ota? Try to get a ruu for the correct version of your bootloader

I have had this problem, after a ota update, while I had the battery charger plugged.
To resolve the problem, I did needed, to flash a ruu, that fits to my hboot-version.
In my case the hboot still had been 0.43 and I did needed the ruu 1.26.xxx.x

What is ur current hboot-version?
I think, it's still 0.43?
If yes, then u need to download the o2 ruu, in Version 1.26.207.2 and install it.

Yes. Hboot is 0.43. A downgrade is impossible. True?
But o2-germany released yesterday a OTA Firmware Upgrade. The Problem is solved since the Update.

Gday,
I tried to install Alpha 11 of CM10 on my phone today without backing up existing rom (please don't hammer me for that, I know it was dumb)
Anyway, the boot animation for CM was up for ages so I tried to go back into fastboot but now it just sits there with the
"checking SD card update..." text there and just doesn't progress. I am assuming this is a dead phone?
thank you anyone who tries to help me out here

Never proceed without back ups !
Have you tried flashing the boot.img from the rom?
Did you wipe cache/dalvik cache?
If all else fails, try to find the RUU for your device?
Hope this is helpful..

Hi, I have just solved this problem by charging, changing the cable and unpluging. Then I installed JB Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_33.1, but it stucks on HTC logo.
I have S-ON and HBOOT 1.31. CWM 5.8.4.0.
What should I do now?
Thanks.

The phone regularly reboots on me. I'd consider myself pretty decent when it comes to rooting/flashing, but I've been babied with the Nexus devices.
I'm willing to wipe the whole phone and start fresh, can I get a step by step on what to do to ensure I don't deal with this problem? Bootloader is unlocked and I have S-Off.
I'd ideally like to have CM 10.1, but at this point I'll gladly run whatever ROM is the most stable.

I didn't, but I do have s-off, so the installation scripts should be flashing boot.img
Regardless, I'll try it again and do the following. let me know if there's something I'm missing here:
Using TWRP:
- format data/cache
- flash boot.img
- flash CM 10.1
- profit
Anything else I should keep in mind? Certain order I should follow?

I have installed Viper X 4.0.0 using a full wipe and after it has successfully installed and reboots the phone does not proceed post the HTC white boot screen. I had left the phone on that screen for more than 10 minutes before rebooting back to recovery. I have now reverted back to fresh install of 3.8.0 and all is working.
Any help and advice would be much appreciated

2.fastboot flash boot boot.img (the new one )
3.fastboot erase cache
4. flash via cwm with full wipe
Yes of course i did that..
I tried wiping 5 times, flashing viper boot. Img and also tried custom kernel ( alexV)
Its a strange problem!
If the boot img is not good we would have a boot loop
But when the system tries to boot, it goes to recovery after the htc logo

Yeah, I've experience that too. I have tried installing the new version 4.0.1 yet I got into bootloop. Any ideas why this happens?
Note: I don't have any problem installing other roms using sense 5. This is not for comparing, I love Viper X but don't know why.

same problem, i already flashed kernel then flashed ROM, but it's always stuck ini HTC logo or even worst just restarting into the same HTC logo..
please help
A bit late to the show but...
Remember that not just do you have to install the ROM, but you need to flash the boot.img too. Yes, this is a two-step process!
Easy...Install ROM from CWM or equivalent. Also, you must extract the boot.img from the ViperX4.x.x.zip file on your PC.
Copy the boot.img to your fastboot folder (you have one more than likely on your PC if you followed just about any thread ever...).
Flash this file to your phone (after fastboot usb selected) by typing from CMD Prompt: flashboot flash boot boot.img
for further see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605720
and if no luck try: http://www.guidingtech.com/12705/solve-boot-loop-htc-one-x-custom-rom/
Good Luck!
Hi there,
I'm searching the correct stock recovery for my HTC One X. I'm running Android 4.1.1, Sense 4+, Software 3.20.401.01 an rooted my HOX a few month ago, but I never flashed a custom-rom, so I want to update my HOX to the newest OTA Update (4.18.401.2), but I can't install it, because of the flashed TWRP Recovery. I searched for the recovery, but I'm not sure which one is the correct one.
Alternative I would flash the newest OTA-Update by myself, when I get notifications about OTA updates in future by using this way.

Hello,
fewminutes ago I tried to update to the new OTA, after I installed and activated all apps via Titanium Backup which I had deactivated or deinstalled. But the Red Triangle is still there after about a minute of installing the update.
Is the only way now a RUU? Got a very old nand backup, when I rooted the HOX for the first time, but therefore I have to reflash TWRP, flash the nand backup, try the OTA update, long way, when I have to do a reset after installing the new OTA, equal which way I use ...
So I very pi**ed off... I thinking about to flash Venom Viper X or CyanogenMod so I got the Custom-Rom Tweaks and with Venom still OTAs ...
