Yes, you can easily enable this:
Add this line in your build.prop:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
And you will have virtual keys.

It works fine, thanks.
Just 2 problems:
The stock launcher looks like that: (look attacments)
And the return (or back) key doesnt work.
Then, is there any way to turn off the led of the touchkeys?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for your help

That's because all Sense 6 ROMs are using a patched Launcher, so there is no gap if you are not using onscreen keys.
So, I don't know how to solve this issue and I also don't know, why back button isn't working :/
Use this App to turn of the led lights: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.sleepydragon.capbutnbrightness
You can also disable the M7 keys completely if you modifie the key_layout file.
Thanks, will find a way to make back button works
Dont forget to hide your old bottons with a black marker.
Try using gravity box with xposed module. It has a softkey setting. I only used it briefly but I don't think I had the issue you had.
I Changed the LCD Density to 350 and your problem was resolved in my case.
But it Changed at Homescreen. Now its not fit in the lockstreen

If you have es file manager this is what I did to get it to work once you enter the systems folder in the root of the phone search for the build.prop if you are on insert coin 2.4.0 there should be two of them that show up I added the code to both build props then change their properties to rw- r--r-- and reboot and it worked but for insert coin the back button don't work so I switched back to arhd because of that and everything worked and also my extreme power saving mode doesn't activate.

Hello,
is there anyway to get the Nexus like soft keys for my xperia?
I mean the icons and if so is there anyway to get this with the 36 size (from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171768 )
Soo any Ideas or solutions?
Here's just the AOSP keys: link.
Just copy it to /vendor/overlay/
It is compatible with the smaller button mod.
Ok it works, thaaaanks
If you can do a 36p mod this would be realy gorgeous
Just get the mod from the thread you posted, it is should be compatible with this mod.

Yes, a simple copy works, no need to rename anything. You can throw me a logcat after you reboot the phone, I can check and see if there is any problem.

Well, I don't see anything wrong in your logcat - the package gets loaded. You can try removing the package, rebooting then putting it back there and rebooting again. I think I had that problem once when I was testing it. Besides that, I really have no clue why it may not be working for you.

I copied the file 'SystemUI-aosp-buttons-overlay.apk' to /vendor/overlay/ via ES file explorer and restarted the phone, nothing happened, then i flashed this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171768 . Though the softkeys became black and smaller i did not get nexus like key. My phone kept rebooting whenever i opened ES explorer so i had to clear data and uninstall it after deleting 'SystemUI-aosp-buttons-overlay.apk' .

Open build.prop in text editor :
Find this line : ro.config.hw_quickpoweron=false Changing the ro.config.hw_quickpoweron=false into ro.config.hw_quickpoweron=true will add in Settings the Fast boot option
Restart required.
After reboot you will fing the option between Printing and Developer options in Settings. It's called Fast boot.

Hey,
hope it's ok if i post this here.
For the permission manager, i've extracted the Source of the B507 and B510 PhoneManager apk's.
As far i understand the smali code, it seems that the permission manager is still in place but disabled via source code.
It would be nice if a apk hacker could take a look and compare the two versions.
Have a nice day, all
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Found a way to start the permission manager in B510.
On the play store get https : //play . google . com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher
there open from the top "all activitys"
search for Phone Manager and open it
next look for the permission manager entry and start it (long press for shortcut).
there you can enable it.
i've made some rough testing and it seems as it's working the way we expect it.
Happy restricting ^^

Ah I see. Which files are being copied over? Would it be possible to make this into a magisk module since we can have system was busybox?
Thanks

I put the modded framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk for Nexus 6P in the magisk module, filled out config file, and zipped it up. I have no idea if it will work. I've had no luck doing full apk replacements in OREO.

Just tried it. Doesn't work - phone boots correctly but nav bar still there. One thing though is that Magisk no longer displays installed modules after installing your one, but I imagine that's not something you'd know why.
I'm new to themers - how do your mods work via aroma? They don't replace the full apks?

My mods only change in a apk what is necessary for the mod to work. I haven't messed with magisk since official O came out so I don't know if this will work either but this is based on the method I use in my aroma's if you want to try it.

Try this if you are stock Oreo.

Hey this worked perfectly, however is there a way to revert back to having the nav bar enabled? I did not make a back up unfortunately. Is it as simple as uninstalling busy box?
