Most easiest way is reverting back to stock and doing what you want to
And yes I prefer installing stock and then install any kernel on it

Hello, I have been trying to flash a 4.4 ROM on my Optimus G for the longest. I am currently running a 4.3 but can't a stable one as well. Every time I try to flash a 4.4 TWRP almost instantly says fail every time even though it is the most updated version, does anyone know why this is?

You have to use a KK recovery. CWM or TWRP will be marked as working for KK. KK being 4.4

Look for octhrope's flashable zip in the TWRP thread. It's marked as working for KK. It'll have the same numbers but modified for Kk.

Well, if you have the right TWRP, and are wiping /system, /data, /cache, /dalvic, I'd say bad dl , or your SD might be messed up.
That's the only reasons I can think of.

See if you can flash a stock ROM. Also, reinstall recovery. DL the one from Shelnutt2 on the codefire server. There's also a link for it in the root guide.
After reinstalling recovery, and if it'll install a stock ROM, try a 4.4 rom again. If it still fails, I'd say try wiping your SD.
Other than that, I'm at a loss.

So, I have flashed a few roms, the most recent, Lego Rom, and I am still unable to activate my network. I have mobile data but no phone. I have went back and tried to install from freshly rooted to a rom but without any change. I am following install instructions to a T. This is by far not my first time installing a custom rom. Anyone have any ideas what my problem is?

You can only flash stock ROM with oppo stock recovery. So get back to stock recovery using fastboot or recovery installer.

Use Flashify. Download it for free from Google Play.
Extract the recovery image (.img file), open flashify choose recovery option search the file where it's located in your phone's memory and go ahead. Flash it.
If your running Lollipop stock ROM and want to gain root again without a PC. Then install Kingroot app and you'll be back in the party.

Hello There!
I'm an idiot. :crying:
I went to follow some steps to flashing a rom on my device.
Then when I got to the TWRP Part that says to factory reset device, I accidentally chose Wipe Data for I didn't see the slidable "slide to factory reset" on the bottom. While it is wiping my data, it restarted and only got stuck wuth the samsung logo. Anyone also experienced this?
If so, I'm gladly accepting help from all of you. thanks!
Attached is a photo of the error
Can you get back into recover? If so just do the wipes in the right order and flash the ROM. Otherwise I don't know what to do next.

You are using TWRP 2.8.0 right? If you can install version 2.6.3 using Obin. Then do the wipes and install. There is a bug with 2.8.0 and above for wiping the caches which is why the factory resets are failing and why you cannot install a ROM. Tell me if that works or not. O, to get the older version look through the last 10 or so pages for TWRP for are device. There are several links to the old version

I had the exact same problem with TWRP 2.8. I had to do the factory reset about 6 times before I was able to get it working again. Is your's showing the size of /data as 0?
