OK so I got a new phone and factory Data reset my LG Nitro hd while it was on jellybam kitkat rom and when i finished the setup, unmounted my external sd card from settings app and took the external sd card out and put it in my new phone. Problem is that for some reason my external sd card shows up in the LG Nitro HD as sdcard0 which I think is suppose to be the internal sd card so when I remove it from the phone it says removed sd card please insert new sd card and apps keep fc and it won't let me download anything in any app other than the play store. When I keep my external sd card in the phone it works properly no fcs but it's not suppose to show up as internal sd card storage. The phone seem like it's missing the internal sd card partition. When the sd card is inserted into my new phone it shows up as external sd card and sdcard0 is the internal sd card which I think is correct. The LG Nitro hd is using Philz touch recovery but I don't know if that has anything to do with the sd card showing up as internal sd card. Can someone help me find a solution to this problem? I was thinking about going all the way back to stock with the locked bootloader using the LG software tool, but before that I wanted to know if there's any solution to this issue.

Thanks for the quick reply but unfortunately that didn't work. I was able to get the recovery but when I factory data reset in cwm without the external sd card inserted it does reset but it finishes with the error mounting /storage/sdcard0/.android_secure

what rom u r using?
I was using the cyanfox nightly from 2-18 and a few minutes ago I flashed pacman rom on Android 4.3 and when I looked in settings at partition info it showed the amount of space on my external sd card under internal sd card and said external sd card unavailable
Sent from my LG-E970 using Tapatalk
Also I just looked at the storage and noticed internal storage: total space-2.15gb, available-1.72, apps-449mb, and cached data-17.31mb. I thought that this phones available space was around 800mb not a whole gb + unless it just depends on the rom...

Well I have a new version of CWM Mod, and apparently when you format the sd-card, it no longer formats the inner sd card but your external sd card. I was really pissed as I lost all my data I had saved, but it also managed to screw up my sd card. Neither of my computers recognize my SD Card and I have no idea how I can go about restoring it. My phone can detect the sd card but it will say its corrupt randomly. So I'm guessing CWM formatted the card in a really screwed up way. Any suggestions brahs?
I'll even try to mount the sd card on CWM but it wont be able to mount it. It's a shame to waste a 32 gig sd card like this
Have you tried to format through the phone storage? Menu/settings/storage/format

Only gives me the option to mount or unmount the SD card
How old is the SD card? This phone is know for eating up the 32 GB cards. I had one for less than 3 weeks and it did the same. I use trwp but there is a thread about cards and our misfortunes with the 32 GB.

Make sure you card is not in exfat. CWM will not read cards in exfat, I had the same problem. If it is you are going to need to format it to fat 32. Most 32gigs sd cards and higher come in exfat now. You are most likey going to have to do it on the computer also it cant be done from CWM.

Yes but my computer won't even detect the SD Card. It was fine and dandy up until yesterday when I hit format on CWM on the SD Card thinking I was formatting the internal storage (since it's labelled /sdcard) but it formatted the actual SD. Windows won't detect my Micro SD and neither will my Mac. However if I put the SD card into my phone and connect via USB, it shows up.

You pressed format /sdcard, and it formatted your extsd? That's a pretty serious bug, so thanks for the heads up. What version of CWM are you running?
Op. I did the same thing a long time ago. I have gotten into the habbit of removing the sd card when I am formatting with a custom recovery. I also back up the sd to my pc and reformat the sd when changing roms. A bit off topic but I also wipe system before flashing a new rom. So far I have avoided many of the issues mentioned day after day. Maybe I am lucky but my wierd habits have been successful so far.

Did you manage to fix the problem though? Not to be rude but I'm looking for solutions towards this specific situation, not advice on what to do next time :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

5.8 something. It's weird because it allows for both internal and external SD use. When you backup the first open is to save to external then its internal. First version of CWM i've ever used with such an option.
For anyone wondering about a solution, I used an android 2.3 device which actually has a format option for the SD card and now my computers recognize it again. Life is good

So I rooted my AT&T GS3 and put CWM on it. Everything seemed to be going well until I tried booting into Cyanogenmod and the phone said my SD Card was damaged. I moved the SD Card to another phone and it said it was fine. I reinserted the SD Card into the GS3 and booted into recover and attempted to mount the SD Card and it said there was a problem. I'm pretty confused as to what's going on here. I was using a 64 gig SD Card but it did the same thing with others. Anyone care to help?

Recently my Note 2 keeps getting errors saving camera photos onto the external
SD card.. Have to save onto internal SD card instead.. And when I later try to move the photos from the internal SD card to the external SD card, the photo gets corrupted and doesn't display at all. Anyone with this issue too..?
Not sure if this is an issue with my SD card or the firmware..? Didn't recall having this issue on the earlier firmwares.

This is the last resort I'll take.. Haha thanks for your input!
Back up all the data via a card reader or put the card in another phone.

Is it a brand new memory card or old one.. which class?
If old then may be it is corrupted
OK now my SD card is totally not being detected at all.
I tried putting my SD card into another phone and its not being detected as well. Could be a spoilt card. Its a class 4 8gb Kingston card. Could it be spoilt due to old age..?

You seem to answer yourself mate. Mine died as well but it came back after a week lol.

If it doesn't contain any useful stuff then simply format it
And try using a memory card reader n see wat happens :fingers-crossed:
Was working fine up until I installed Death Star rom. I reverted back to Wicked and it continues to eject SD card right after it has been installed. I tried another 1gb sd card, works fine, no ejection. I put my 64gb sd in and it prepares it then ejects it, tried to manually mount it and it does the same thing. CMW will not mount 64gb sd card either. I did update CWM through Rom Manager (bought it FYI) but worked afer the update. This started happening minutes after it was updated.
Any ideas?

Yes you can flash from internal sd card. Same procedure as if flashing from ext sd card.

Hi there. You would in cwm touch choose install zip from internal instead of install zip from external sd card option. Cwm touch is pretty straight forward. Follow the choices. Also make sure you do your nandroid backup before flashing anything. You would want to save that backup to your external sd card when you get it to save device memory. A few backups on internal storage will eat up ALL your internal storage space on the phone so sd card is important to have. If your using cwm you MUST in settings specify for backups to go to EXTERNAL sd card other wise by default they go to internal storage.word of warning this will quickly use all your device storage so make certain once you get your sd to fix the settings so it will go by default to EXTERNAL sd card rather than internal device storage. Hope this helps you out. Best wishes
