Phone keeps ejecting 64gb SD Card - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Was working fine up until I installed Death Star rom. I reverted back to Wicked and it continues to eject SD card right after it has been installed. I tried another 1gb sd card, works fine, no ejection. I put my 64gb sd in and it prepares it then ejects it, tried to manually mount it and it does the same thing. CMW will not mount 64gb sd card either. I did update CWM through Rom Manager (bought it FYI) but worked afer the update. This started happening minutes after it was updated.
Any ideas?

[Q] Strange SD card problem

Well, I have a class 10 16 gb micro sd car. today after installing the Increase Internal Memory mod by XtremeSilencer, I partitioned it using the Minitool partition wizard. after booting it can't recognize the sd card but detects it in cwm. So I know my sd card is alright. so I flashed the whole rom(Revoluotion HD ICS) but still it can't recognize the sd card although detected in cwm just like previous times. After then I tried a lot like formatting it,partitioning it by both CWM & Minitool from FAT32 to FAT-EXT123..every format. But nope..nothing happened. I even flashed the stock firmware.. still no respite. please help.. :crying:

CWM + My EXT SD CARD = No Fun

Well I have a new version of CWM Mod, and apparently when you format the sd-card, it no longer formats the inner sd card but your external sd card. I was really pissed as I lost all my data I had saved, but it also managed to screw up my sd card. Neither of my computers recognize my SD Card and I have no idea how I can go about restoring it. My phone can detect the sd card but it will say its corrupt randomly. So I'm guessing CWM formatted the card in a really screwed up way. Any suggestions brahs?
I'll even try to mount the sd card on CWM but it wont be able to mount it. It's a shame to waste a 32 gig sd card like this
Have you tried to format through the phone storage? Menu/settings/storage/format

Only gives me the option to mount or unmount the SD card
How old is the SD card? This phone is know for eating up the 32 GB cards. I had one for less than 3 weeks and it did the same. I use trwp but there is a thread about cards and our misfortunes with the 32 GB.

Make sure you card is not in exfat. CWM will not read cards in exfat, I had the same problem. If it is you are going to need to format it to fat 32. Most 32gigs sd cards and higher come in exfat now. You are most likey going to have to do it on the computer also it cant be done from CWM.

Yes but my computer won't even detect the SD Card. It was fine and dandy up until yesterday when I hit format on CWM on the SD Card thinking I was formatting the internal storage (since it's labelled /sdcard) but it formatted the actual SD. Windows won't detect my Micro SD and neither will my Mac. However if I put the SD card into my phone and connect via USB, it shows up.

You pressed format /sdcard, and it formatted your extsd? That's a pretty serious bug, so thanks for the heads up. What version of CWM are you running?
Op. I did the same thing a long time ago. I have gotten into the habbit of removing the sd card when I am formatting with a custom recovery. I also back up the sd to my pc and reformat the sd when changing roms. A bit off topic but I also wipe system before flashing a new rom. So far I have avoided many of the issues mentioned day after day. Maybe I am lucky but my wierd habits have been successful so far.

Did you manage to fix the problem though? Not to be rude but I'm looking for solutions towards this specific situation, not advice on what to do next time :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

5.8 something. It's weird because it allows for both internal and external SD use. When you backup the first open is to save to external then its internal. First version of CWM i've ever used with such an option.
For anyone wondering about a solution, I used an android 2.3 device which actually has a format option for the SD card and now my computers recognize it again. Life is good

SD Card Problems with Custom Roms

So I rooted my AT&T GS3 and put CWM on it. Everything seemed to be going well until I tried booting into Cyanogenmod and the phone said my SD Card was damaged. I moved the SD Card to another phone and it said it was fine. I reinserted the SD Card into the GS3 and booted into recover and attempted to mount the SD Card and it said there was a problem. I'm pretty confused as to what's going on here. I was using a 64 gig SD Card but it did the same thing with others. Anyone care to help?

I always get can't install <××××××> sdcard (bad) Aborted..etc. leading me to drag and drop everything to PC reformatting it. Anybody know I can avoid corruption. Thankyoi

[Q] How to use 64GB SD card in Tmobile Galaxy S4

I have tried to use a samsung 64GB micro sd card in my galaxy s4, but everytime i put music on the sd it says the sd is damaged and needs to be reformatted. I contacted T Mobile and they told me that their version of the galaxy s4 would only take sd cards up to 32GB. I have read some other treads on this site to try and get around this, like the exfat thing of fat32, both of which failed. I have recently rooted my phone, successfully, and i was wondering if anybody could help me get past this 32GB sd card only bs. Now that I have rooted my phone is there any option i can take to successfully have my 64GB sd work in my galaxy s4. If you need more information please let me know. I would like to solve this problem as quickly as possible. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to try and help me.
Find a kernel that's exFAT compatible our reformat to FAT32. The factory firmware s should be compatible iirc.
Tmobile is wrong about only accepting 32GB sd card.

I have tried both ways exFat and Fat32. I have over 32GB on the sd card, but once i put the sd in my phone the phone tells me the the sd is damaged. I am new to all this ROM, Kernel, etc... stuff. Where could I find a kernel that supports exFat or FAT32 and how would I install this on my phone without messing it up?
I think they all support FAT32, stock firmware should support exFAT. You might just have a bad card.

Have you tried a different 64gb card? I have no problem on stock rom using a 64gb card I got on amazon.
Like what he said. I've been on Stock for a month before switching to custom ROMs but within that month I've got no problems using my 64GB card. Try another card, might be your card is damaged in the first place...
I have tried 3 different cards. I get the same message with each card.
Did u try reformatting while the card is in the device? Or thru cwm?

I honestly think, if you've really tried 3 different sd cards, that you could have a bad MicroSD slot. You might go into T-Mobile and ask them if you can try your card in one of their S4's. If your card works fine in a different phone, then, if your phone is a recent purchase, exchange it, if it's relatively new, get a warranty replacement.
I formatted my 64gb card on my pc using an adapter & have had zero issues. Currently running Infamous v8.0.

Format to Fat32. I recommend creating a Live USB of Ubuntu and doing it through gparted.

Mine works fine
I have a sandisk ultra 64 in mine formatted out of the box for exfat and it works just fine. You should not be having those issues.

Could be a bummed sdcard. I had the same issue with a knockoff. Now I have a 64g exfat with no issues.
