Is it possible to unlock SM-P605V Galaxy note 10.1 Verizon? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

I wanted to unlock the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 from Verizon but see no where can do it?
Please let me know if you have one

I have one and we weren't able to unlock with 4.3. I am curious whether anything changed under KK... but AFAIK... The answer is no.

Just root and flash a custom ROM from here.

Just root and flash a custom ROM from here. I have never heard that you can NOT root a carrier specific device. I bought a T-Mobile version of P-605 from Germany and I unlocked it by rooting and flashing a custom ROM.
Cheers,

The bootloader is locked. The current CF auto root methods do not work. Odin fails. At least they didn't before. If I am wrong please let me know.

Have you tried all methods? If nothing works then maybe you need to wait until someone cracks it? I have always been able to un-brand carrier specific devices.

No go on Kingo...did some reading up on it too...its not recommended as it may be trying to install some malware.

lol I genuinely appreciate your reckless testing. I'm not familiar enough with the process to be hopeful or hopeless about the future for dev on vzw bootloader shenanigans. I willingly let vroot attempt to get access on my vzw note 3, fail, then asked kingo to violate the sanctuary before getting it right. There's many people who know a LOT more than me who will swear up and down about risks being benign but I think it's undeniable the entire process is more than unsanitary.
I wouldn't sell my soul to the devil for root/vstrap on this device but then again... he has yet to make an offer.

HAHA. I was going to ask the same question.
I didn't realize how big this phone was until I held it in my hands (coming for G-Nex), but the thing that caught me off guard was the sheer speed. This phone is freaking FAST. Had it for couple of hours and I love it!!!!
Now waiting for Root.

why? both phones have the EXACT same chipset. i'm pretty sure you can flash n7100 stock firmware on t-mobiles and it would work. the reason why previous phones were not inter-flashable was because of the differetn chipset used. both n7100 and t889 use the SAME exynos chip. this should be fun. I'm ging to buy an AT&T and flash the N7100 to get rid of the bloat.
thanks it worked like a charm

I believe you need root to install/use recovery.
Trying to root with the wrong procedure can (and did ) brick a phone. After root, flashing ROMs cannot brick a phone IF you ONLY flash from Recovery. If it doesn't work or even boot up - flash something else or restore backup.

Yes, it would be nice if a tmobile user would confirm the method they used. Want to root so I can get some titanium backups restored.
I can verify that root works with the toolkit on TMOUS SGH-T889. Selecting option 2, then option 4 [works on any build]. 5 minutes later, root and CWM.

they are probably different radios. just because they are the same chipset doesn't mean things will work properly. if they have different radios. which they should. flashing the international will mess up your radio. (baseband, modem, etc)

[Q] Unlock N5100 Bootloader

Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked before, I have searched the forums and google but not found the specific answer for the N5100. There are so many warnings about flashing a custom ROM without an unlocked bootloader and how it will brick your device that I haven't flashed one yet. My question is, is it absolutely necessary to unlock the bootloader and if so, how can I do it? There are no links to N5100 specific tools to unlock it and I can't find a way using any of the toolkits or utilities. There are custom ROMs available for the N5100 so people must be flashing them, right? If so, how did they unlock their bootloaders?
Thanks,
Coj

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I also used this to root the device. Does it also unlock the bootloader as it roots? It didn't explicitly say so, I thought they were two separate things I had to do. Is there any way I can check if my bootloader is unlocked?
this is the device information shown in toolkit, it suggests the bootloader is still locked. Is it?

I didn't have to do anything except CF AutoRoot then flash the recovery. However, I have a 5110 so hopefully someone here can validate for you just in case.

OK, so I took a punt and flashed knowing that I could brick my device but lack of specific info prompted me into it. It worked and I'm glad to say and I'm now running a nice custom ROM. One more question, is there a repository for stock apps on here?

Is there a similar ROm (to CM 11)to flash without all the google and carrier bloat
Flash with TWRP?
Thx

Because the bootloader is currently locked you cannot flash any other ROMs. The only variant with an unlocked bootloader is the D851, which is the T-Mobile variant. PurpleDrake or Stump can help you Root your phone and then you can tweak it with XPosed if that suits you.
Please use the search function before starting a thread as this question has been asked and answered many times.
Did search and read..saw nothing for d852 or I wouldn't of asked
thx for your help.

Yeah, the bootloader can't be unlocked at the moment so you can't put a custom ROM and kernel on it,sadly. Doesn't look like there's any sign of it being unlocked in the near future either.

Well, don't jump too soon it might get unlocked or a workaround may be found. The G2 was never unlocked but the devs found a work around that allowed custom Roms and kernels.

Well rooting is really easy if you want to use vroot. Just search for vroot or iroot (an .apk that runs on your phone without connecting to a PC.) After you're rooted, just search through twrp threads on how to flash a recovery and unlocking your bootloader. If your bootloader is locked, you will end up bricking your device so be careful and do your homework first. Good luck

Look in the S8 plus forum for ROMs for the Partcyborg ROM. You should be able to flash that because it is a bootloader version 2 ROM.
