I recently received a Galaxy Tab 3 as a gift and I attempted to root it as I would with any other android device.
However, I screwed up and my Tab is soft-bricked.
To remedy my mistakes I attempted to restore the stock rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471516
After following the instructions I came across this error:

}
Any suggestions?
EDIT:Just in case, The USB cable is plugged in directly into the computer and not through a hub.
If you can boot into recovery mode then do a fatcory reset

Is there a difference between the SM-T315 and the SM-T310? Are they the same device and can the OEM Rom be interchanged between the two? The reason I ask is because the thread title is about the SM-T315 but the rom you are trying to load in Odin (per the image you posted) is for SM-T310. So I am wondering is Odin actually protecting you from doing irrevocable harm to your device?
If everything is OK, then try Odin 3.07. I have seen several posts regarding failed loads with Odin 3.09.

Holy crap, you're right.
Do you know where to obtain the SM-T315 stock rom?, I can't seem to find it on this forum.
The only OEM Rom I found was here. But I did not see and firmware for XAR (Cellular South - US). When you enter the site, click in the search box on the right middle and enter T315 and you will find all the current firmware for your region/country.

I HAVE ONLY TESTED THIS ON MY OWN DEVICE!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE IT MAY CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE OR PERSON.
You should only need this if you have broken your GPS from flashing the epic modem during a simi-stock flash. how ever it should not hurt anything to flash it to a device with a good modem, it may downgrade you to EA24 modem though if you already updated to EB28.
EXTRACT THE MODEM.BIN FROM THE ATTACHED ZIP THEN FLASH MODEM>BIN DIRECTLY, THE ATTACHED ZIP IS NOT CWM FLASHABLE
Ok so this is the modem.bin extracted from the sprinter EA24 flasher that was posted earlier and I used hiemdal to flash it. tested GPS/Data and all is well!
You should be able to flash this with Odin as well.
NOTE: GPS will turn on while in airplane mode but will NOT get a lock. Turning airplane mode off will allow a lock. This is normal even on stock device, just keep that in mind if you use the device for wifi only and in airplane mode.
this just helped me out so much i didnt think i would ever be able to downgrade and then upgrade my tablet after a bad kernel flash thanks it works great now i got the full upgrade to 2.2.1
i use Odin3 flash it. but it con't restar.....
who can help me?please

I need more details to help you, what steps did you do and what was the results of those steps? for instance tell us what exactly you did in Odin and what the output was as well as what your tab started doing. just a side note this is for sprint tabs only.
Edit nevermind. Modem works on DJ30

Hello everyone.
This is my first post to this forum, so maybe I'm posting it on the wrong place. If that's the case, please let me know and I'll happily move it to a different one.
I'm trying to root a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, model SM-T210R, with 8GB of ram and a 7" screen using the method described in another post of this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391367
I'm currently using a MacBook air with Mac OS X 10.9.2. I've downloaded JOdin3 (from here) Heimdal (from here) I also downloaded, as indicated in the xda-developers post the firmware for the T210R (from here)
I hav rebooted the Galaxy Tab into Downloading mode, and JOdin detects the device properly as "Connected":
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now, when I hit the Start button in JOdin, is says Do you want me to obtain a PIT for you? I tell it "Yes", I say Ok to restarting my device, I give it my password so it can sudo... (I would even give it my daughters virginity, if it asked, and I had a daughter) but it can't obtain the Pit file:
Is there any workaround? Any place I can download the right PIT file? I've seen a bunch of Pit files for Samsung Galaxies (mainly in other pages of this site) but I don't seem to be able to find a PIT for my specific model.
Do you guys have any PIT file for my device available? Please?
Thank you in advance.
I finally gave up and run the "real" Odin 3.07 in Windows 7 (64bit) It worked fine.
The newer 3.09 didn't seem to run, although I didn't try that much
Hi guys, could use some help with my situation.
This is what happens when I boot up the N7105.

I was able to access the download mode however when I tried to flash philz recovery via Odin, it failed.
The error message is below.
As I am able to see the product name, I guess it is not the SDS issue that has been circulating.
Would appreciate any help from you guys.
Thanks a lot!
What bootloader are you on?
(What does it say whe you're in DL mode)
If you have Knox you cant just flash anything you like, you'll have to flash 4.3 stock rom with knox and follow instructions of how to disable knox and downgrade.
If not on knox bootloader DL a 4.1.2 rom and flash it through odin
(Your OS and Odin versions can sometimes cause the PIT not found issue)
Which odin should i use to flash 4.1.2? And how do I check if my friend's phone has knox?
Anywhere i can get a 4.1.2 stock? Cannot find it on Sammobile for Singapore's version.
Nope did not work. Tried flashing 4.3 stock failed. Tried with PIT, failed too. All attempts failed at unable to Repartition.
Note 2 unable to boot up
Hi, so what u did to get the phone back on service? My aunt's note 2 give the same white screen like the top pic.

Hello XDA, haven't been on these forums for a while.
I have a slight issue with a Galaxy SIII I just picked up off a friend.
The S3 goes to this screen every time I try to boot it with the power button:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And I AM able to get to the download mode screen:
I've tried to flash a Stock Rooted Firmware onto the phone using Odin 3.07, and all it does is say it failed.
Another thing to note is that I CAN'T boot into recovery, and that I do not have Clockworkmod installed.
Also, I am not sure if my device is rooted as it was given to me by someone else..
Any help on trying to solve this issue will be much appreciated!! Thank you!
EDIT: if you can't see the images for some reason, it is just a photo of the "Firmware Upgrade Encountered an Issue" screen and a photo of the download mode screen.

well for one your s3 is from T-mobile so you can't really download Odin flashable roms from here on the Sprint S3 forum the only help i can give is go to the T-mobile s3 forum and it sounds like you might have a bad cable try with another one or a different PC
Hi, I tried to use Odin to root my Galaxy Tab 3 GT-P5210 (Build KOT49H.P5210UEU0CNK1), and it said "Passed" on Odin, but my tablet is now stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 3" startup screen (it won't boot). Is there a way to remedy this? Also, I can't seem to download any TWRP files, it gets blocked by the antivirus saying that a virus has been detected in the file. The only other option I can access is when I press Volume Down and Power at the same time, it goes into ODIN Mode on my tablet.
Thanks
Try to flash bootloader (BL) with Odin, CSC is not needed but it doesn't hurt to flash it with BL.
In this file, CSC (Country/Carrier Specific Code) is for US region
http://www.mediafire.com/file/c224oin6adfqisg/GT-P5210(2).rar
If it doesn't work, try to flask BL, and AP with Odin.
The stock ROM ( AP ) is here, and Cellular South is for US region
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-P5210/
I rarely fail when flash Stock Rom with its bootloader ( BL )

Hi
Is it still possible to root my Tab 3 P5210? And then flash a custom rom of android 6 upwards?
It currently runs on android 4.4.2 but im not sure if that was the version it was purchased with originally. I tried recently when i followed instructions from another thread on here but i soft bricked my device (same as OP - passed on odin, tab stuck on loading screen), although i did recover it back to its previous state eventually. I was using the latest Odin V13, but im not sure if the version of android or odin version needed to be specified for using the right apk files?
