Any browsers other then dolphin able to use flash in katkat with the update? Some one check boat browser yet? One of main reasons i dont want to upgrade to kitkat because flash browsers are limited under it.
UC browser hd has kitkat flash and is pretty good.
How? Can't get it to work
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Firefox supports flash on kitkat too
The two best browsers are working : UC Browser and Dolphin. Boat browser is not working anymore, no big deal, it's more or less the same as Dolphin

You still need a modified version of the flash player. Google for kitkat flash and you should find something.
Here is the flash file you'll need.
> Install
Then install Dolphin Browser from the Play Store
> Change settings Web Content to Flash Player Always On, and under Customize User Agent to Desktop
Reboot...
If you have Amazon Prime you can now use it to watch movies since those jerks don't want to help android users.

Is there a way to get the stock browser installed?
I tried installing the apk for the 2.3.1 version but it didn't work...
Try Dolphin Browser HD. It really doesn't get any better. The apk is inside the zip file in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351283
It's called something like tunny browser btw.

How did u get it to work with chrome? I get blank page when trying to access flash settings. I dropped to 160 on stock

Pardon my bad! didn't check with all sites.
Well, it's working for basic renderings in sites, and video playback.
Settings still renders black screen.
Have edited the post.
Didn't realize that Adobe would still update this. Works great on my Galaxy Nexus.
Latest roll out updated.
It's not working for me. I used chrome and paranoid latest v.2. I even tried clearing cache. Somehow on the 1.992 it worked fine, don't know if i needed to install flash for chrome or not, it just worked off hand i think.

this version finally fixes my RAZR.
but 115.7 works just fine with my Nexus7 with Firefox BETA. im too scared to change what's not broken lol
When should html5 be ready for us or JB? Do anyone know, worst case I'll wait a bit if there's no way around this. I heard flash will be discontinued officially by November so html5 should be ready by then?

i just cant wrap this post around my head... i dont get it.
html5 is ready for Nexus.... now. if by 'ready' u mean, we can use it. then yes.
why do u want to wait installing flash has anything to do with html5? some sites will convert from flash to html, yes, but some doesnt.
flash is discontinued since last week or so for Android devices, not for everything else. theres still Flash in the PC and Mac and everything else in between.
if u want flash, then install this.
if u dont want flash, then dont install this. hopefully whatever u want is in html5, or has plan to move to it.

I don't care if it's flash or html5. I just want my video and audio to work on the browser. Since YouTube app restrict desktop content.
I found out that the default browser or chrome doesn't play audio or video content unless i install the flash apk. However, the default browser gives me A/V and chrome only give me audio without the video. You can try playing YouTube video in desktop mode just to make sure or any other video streaming sites. I would love to have html5 but it doesn't seem to be fully implemented yet...

Tested with today's Firefox release. Flash works all fine!!
Wasn't so keen to look into settings though quality seems to be low for flash based websites! as 'm at work.
But in total, Yes it works

Firefox, Firefox Beta, and AOKP browser in Nexus7 rooted: flash video streaming content works fine.
in my ICS RAZR, it also works fine on default Android browser.
test: watchop.com and watch.ctv.ca
I downloaded and installed this and it caused issues with the Play Store. Whenever I pressed the back button while looking at an app, the screen would flash and not return to the previous screen.
This bug went away when I uninstalled the apk.
In order to enable flash player in dolphin browser you need to navigate to data/data/mobi.mgeek.Tunny/Browser/shared_prefs/ using root explorer and delete mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml.
I'm not the one who discover it. Just wanted to share to those who wants to enable flash on dolphin browser which can be downloaded on play store.
Yes, it works, Dolphin will update.
I'm using Dolphin Browser Beta on rom:I9300XXDLIB 4.1.1. and have no folder ''mobi.mgeek.Tunny" in data/data/.
Or do i not need to delete that file in Beta to enable flash player?

Use the non beta dolphine browser that can be downloaded on the play store. You need to open the browser first and go to any site before you delete the preference stated above. You must enable the root feature in root explorer

You can get this working on Dolphin Beta at least on TF101
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933179
instead go to /data/data/com.dolphin.browser.lab.en/shared_prefs/
and delete the file that ends with "Browser_preferences.xml"
Hope this helps!
So i followed the steps exactly as posted and seemed to work for me. I now have flash player "always on"
However when i load you tube in desktop mode and other sites, i still get the flash player needs to be installed error.
Any suggestions?

Here is what I did:
- Install CleanRom 2.7 (pick option to install Flash within Aroma). There is a way to download the flash installer separate if don't want to install cleanrom but you will have to search the forums. I am using Cleanrom with Nova launcher and love it.
- Install latest Dolphin Browser from market
- Open Dolphin and visit any site
- Close Dolphin
- Use any file explorer (with root access) to goto data/data/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser/shared_prefs/ and delete mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml.
- I rebooted but not sure if that is needed
- Now flash will work within the latest Dolphin Browser.
Hope this helps.
Flash works on my dolphin browser. thanks for the info! BTW do any of you guys know why my dolphin beta doesn't work. When I try to open it on my gs3 it just closes automatically. btw I rooted and running on 4.1.2 paranoidkangdroid. thanks anyways
Thanks for sharing this. Going to try this on my Nexus 4.
Yup, Works.

confirmed working on Galaxy Note II with flash player 11_11.1.115.20 apk and Flash is how I like it " On demand " as default .
After deleting that file you may need to reinstall flash player, I had to before it'd work.
Dolphin and Flash on my un-rooted S3
I somehow got Flash working with Dolphin on my UN-rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 after the JB upgrade from Verizon. It now has Flash permanently enabled. And it has stayed that way even after a couple of Dolphin updates from the Playstore. I'm not quite sure how I accomplished this. It was dumb luck.
I think the setting got changed somehow when I one by one downloaded several of the better rated incognito private browsers from the Play Store and tried them out to find the one I liked. In each of them I set the User Agent to desktop and enabled Flash. I then uninstalled them all except Frost Lite which I decided was the best.
At some point later, I noticed that Flash had started working in Dolphin. I suspect that one of these browsers shares the same tuny settings file as Dolphin and had the ability to either write to it or delete it. But I am not certain. I don't remember exactly all of the browsers I downloaded. For certain I downloaded "Free Private Browser", "InBrowser - Incognito Browsing", and "Frost Lite". I might have tried a couple of others. I suspect it might have been "Free Private Browser" that did the trick because it says in the app description it uses builtin Webkit rendering engine. But I have no way to repeat the experiment.
All I know for certain is that Flash now works in Dolphin on my un-rooted S3 .
Thanks for the info, and I will try it soon

Do i need to install a flash player? Where can i find it?
You'll have to Google it. Android stopped supporting it, and the flash player app was removed from the play store. I'm pretty sure Chrome doesn't support it, and the last I checked, you'll need Firefox to take advantage of a possible flash player app

Actually, flash player doesn't work on Android 4.3 or later. Some library Flash Player needs was removed.
I've read, but I don't recall if applied to Android 4.3, that Flash Player may work with Dolphin Browser that the Rocket Pack add-on extension. It's been quite a while since I read about it, so I don't remember the details. You'll want to Google it.
For dolphin browser
It works with Firefox . I use it on my Note 4.
