Any Kernels for the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for some kernels I can use to tweak my tab 3 like a volume mod and cpu tweak and anything else that would speed up this device, if someone could tell me where I can get a good working kernel I'd appreciate it.

At the moment as you can see there is one kernel in the development section. It doesn't have the kind of features that you want.
You'll have to wait for a while I guess. Not much development on this device.
And please post stuff like this in the general or question and answer section and not the development section.

Roms Roms and more Roms

OK everybody,
I am confussed a bit.....what ROMS are available? I been reading alot and it seems like the ROMS are still in testing....Im just wanting to make sure..
Thanks
Wahaha!
What style of ROM are you looking for?
AOSP/CM9?
AOKP?
TouchWiz?
Only AOSP/CM9 and AOKP ROMs are still in testing and such, though most of them are suitable for everyday use.
The TouchWiz ROMs are good to go!
So, again, what kind of ROM are you looking for?
Glad you are learning about Android
In XDA its known that you must post questions in the Q and A section... Someone will usually help you out fairly quick. Have fun and remember "if you didn't create it" don't start a new thread under Development it will be locked.

Just flash the rooted stock ICS that Mr X posted and wait for the custom stuff to come along in the next few weeks. (The Telus version is better than TMobile unless you really need wifi calling.)

My advice is to read, read, and read some more. Search function is your friend. There are many different flavors of ROM and what's best for you comes down to personal preference. A lot of ROMs have youtube videos of users demonstrating them..search youtube. What's best is subjective.
Thanks for the advice , let me tell you that my search button is overworked in this forum...so is there a link to view and read up on what ROMS are available. How can I search if I dont know what ROMS are available for my phone.....that would be perfect and this is for ICS

Roms that have the multi window feature

im trying to see what all roms have the multi window feature. I know synergy does but i want to see if any others do. i been doing a lot of reading and not seeing any mentions about it
Not much help but I don't think this thread belongs in the development section.
This belongs in q&a, not development. If the op of each thread lists it, they have it, if they don't, they don't. Pretty simple...

quick "possible dumb" question

Hello all, i have a quick question about my note II that i just purchased. Im currently living/vacationing in bangkok and bought the phone at the mbk mall, for those of you who have been know how crazy/shady the place is, they sold it to me as unlocked but i noticed the data wasnt working so i asked them about it and they quickly ran off to another stall and came back with it working. They ended up rooting it and adding the networks apn to get the data to work and all is well now. Back to my question, id like to know which of the mod section belongs to my phone as ive nornally rooted each android device myself and would hate to have anything happen to it as im sure the people that sold it to me would not help me in any way. Is it the G note II section or original note II section? The phone is a GT N7100 from france
Thanks in advance

Yes i know that much, i guess i should have made myself more clear. What section do i go to for roms for the gt n7100 as the note II section has more roms/kernels then the original note II section
Both orig and dev section have roms.
Original contains roms build from source and kernels and other things.
Dev section includes mods and roms based on other roms like most roms based on samsung or a port or sharing something.

either. as previously stated, the only difference is whether the rom is orignal (built from source) or based on another rom (stock TW and its variations.)

Why is this not a sticky in every sub-forum?

I ran across this in the Nexus 4 Dev forum..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982483
So why is this not the header of every dev section!!! ¡
I know you don't know.. Lol...
So you guys think we should have a similar post?

Definitely needed in this forum, seems like a lot of cherry-pickers looking for acknowledgment for cutting and pasting other peoples stuff.
Most roms out there are just cm or aokp with a few tweaks and cosmetic changes or a straight port .....always been that way and always will. Gonna be a real quiet dev section if "copies" weren't allowed. Most are just learning by doing this and sharing....I see no harm in it personally.
If we had more development than we do.....an original dev section and regular dev section may work....like nexus 7 forum for example....but with t989 I think moving roms to general or another dev section isn't necessary.
Just my opinion.

If you read the post. Those ROMs could go in the general section until they mature past a learning experience.

I read it just fine. And my personal opinion (yes...imho) is that it just mucks up the general section. Let people flash the copy roms if they want...their choice. And like I said....about half the t989 roms would end up there.
I just don't think our dev section is busy enough to be worried about this. Some phone sections definitely need these rules, nexus devices for example....but the t989 dev section is not so packed that I think those roms are muddying the waters much.
Where do you suggest the line be drawn as to what is suitable for dev section? We have cm, slim, aokp, skyrocket ports and other roms being altered slightly and in our dev section.....they aren't hurting anyone...and the guys are learning a lot and sometimes making improvements.....but, are they original works? ? So they will all go to general section?
I guess then, to agree in part, I think an original dev section, and a regular dev section may be a better idea. Again....like the nexus 7 for example.
The noobs get slammed by enough unamed veterans already for not searching hard enough.....putting a bunch of roms in general will just make it messy and worse.
Check out the i9100 general section. A mess if you ask me.
K....sorry for the novel!

Also....with t989 devs getting new devices and moving on....why not encourage and support the guys just starting out. Let them go at their pace.....they may be the veterans soon as our current top devs move on.
As I said, its the users choice to flash the roms they flash.....what's the difference what section they're in? To me....all roms should be in dev section. Much less confusion.

Eh, that's not completely true about Nexus forums; there are a lot of Nexus only/original ROMs out. Most newer devices have two dev forums; one for original development (custom kernels, 'original' ROMs, etc.), and the other just 'normal' android development (kangs like stated above).
If you want to see the 'original' ROMs, check out the original dev section.

I know what you're saying...and I think its a far better idea than putting any roms in general. Just too messy!
Sent from my cell phone telephone....
Yeah. I see where your coming from. It would be messy and that may get annoying as well.
But to be honest there is to much leniency in this forum. Dropping straight compiled builds from source "to learn" is not helping the community and is not helping that person learn...
I can build from source and compile that doesn't mean that I know how to build a ROM or that it's a good idea to post them and clutter up the dev section.
I can unzip an already built rom and move some application files around and add some stuff to the build.prop. Does that mean I built a ROM? No. It means that I know how to use WinZip. And definitely should never be in any dev section.
Now I also know some c# , some basic, a little bit C++. Now if I or somebody else use that knowledge to take a pre existing ROM and actually assist in the development or fix problems or issues then that is development and that would belong in the development section.
This is obviously all my opinion. Some of you may agree , some of you may not, some of you might even be one of these people I'm talking about. And this is neither here nor there I simply think everyday dev section should have a sticky like this.

Which ROM has the best performance?

As subject I just wanted to see some benchmarks from each ROM users and see which one has the best performance readings.

In general such rom comparisons are against XDA rules, also you posted in wrong section, also there is already a topic with benchmarks under general if i remember correctly.
EDIT:Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697650
Ooh wrong place to post and a very wrongbquestion to ask here. U might wanna put it in general section .or rather try the roms yourself and find out.
