I've had my Samsung Galaxy Nexus running 4.2.2 ParanoidAndroid 3.60 on PagePlus for a good 2-3 months now, and I have been having problems with the phone since the start. One of the main issues that I am having with the phone is slow messaging. I am able to send messages at normal speeds (not MMS, MMS takes forever to send/will not send at all), but when I am receiving messages, most of the time the I don't get it for about 4-60 minutes after they sent the message. Another problem that I have had recently (4/22/14) is that the phone switched to 4G LTE when it is on PagePlus, which is 3G. I don't know why it suddenly switched to 4G, I just changed by batteries and then when I powered it on it was just on 4G and I cannot use any of my data because it prompts me to "Sign into Network" and my network for PagePlus says T-CDMA 64. When I try to sign in or use my data it says that I cannot use mobile broadband and that I cannot activate my phone and it gives me a Verizon number. I've switched the network preferences from LTE/CDMA to CDMA/EvDo and it is on 3G now but it still prompts me to the same site when I try using my data. So yeah, basically my phone lags when it receives messages and I can't use my data because it switched to 4G. Anyone got any ideas?
Bump
I really need this fixed.

Precursor: I recently purchased an EVO 4G online and had it shipped up here to Canada and after some phone calls/fiddling I managed to get it onto the Telus network. I can make and receive calls and send/receive sms with no difficulties. Data seems to be working (I get the 3g icon with up and down arrows and can surf the net), and mms seem to be sending.
Which brings me to the issues at hand:
1) My 3G speeds are super weak (between 100kbit and 140kbit down and 100-600kbit up). If I stand in the same place and use my Touch Pro 2 (they both show the same number of bars) I get 800-900kbit/sec.
2) My EVO 4g -ALWAYS- says "Digital Roaming". I've updated the PRL with the latest Telus one (off the internet) as well as the one off my Touch Pro 2 but see no difference. I don't incur any roaming charges, but the phone always thinks it's roaming.
3) Last but not least, I'll often get a pop-up that says Data Call Failure Error Code 67. Sometimes I'll go for hours without seeing it, and sometimes it'll pop up every 5 minutes.
Any input/insight is welcome!

P.S. If you want tips on how to get your EVO onto Telus, drop me a PM.
I will love to have feedback, as I get the "data fail" error often while roaming...
Update: It seems that when I force my phone to use only EVDO, the Data Call Failure Error Code 67 goes away. Perhaps related?
Just following up on my own thread: It seems the Error 67 is because my 1x data login details are incorrect (a side effect of the sprint radio).
Still wondering on the other questions, anyone?
Xan, how did you get HTC Evo to work on Telus? I'm almost at the point of returning this one that I got from Texas. I have tried for 24hours to no avail.
Please help!!

I just had the same issue. Luckily I downloaded an app off the market called 2g 3g switchand it resolve several issues I had including yours. There are three options one of them is the cdma NAM switch in which you could select NAM 1, another option is to leave in automatic, and third if you have any 2g and 3g switching issues you can select hybrid. Note after switching wait probably 5 minutes and sometimes try again, also you may have to reset.
I have my Galaxy Nexus running CM10 (don't think that would make a difference, but who knows?). I was able to connect to 4g a few weeks ago, but recently I have found that I am unable to connect to 4g. I live Manhattan, KS and Overland Park, KS which are both Sprint 4g markets. I turn mobile data on and select LTE/CDMA and the phone just sits there without any data connection. Sometimes 3g will pop up, but that doesn't happen often. I have updated both my PRL and Profile from Sprint, but that didn't do anything. Any suggestions?
More on this. I re-installed CM10 and 4g was working fine until I connected to the Wifi network I usually use. Once I disconnected from that, I can't get 4g again. Can anybody help?
Probably an issue with the nightlies.. Make a backup, wipe, and flash back to stock?
Rooted and tether enabled stock JB is actually quite nice, FWIW.
im having problems with sending MMS (pictures)
i read where when you send MMS, its always via 3G correct?
so if you are on LTE at the time/place, does that mean MMS wont work?
but theres no way to cut off just the LTE right?
also what are the correct APN settings for Sprint Nexus?
i try to put mine on CDMA/LTE/evoA,but nothing sticks except for CDMA/LTE
please advise
I don't believe it matters if you're running at 3g or 4g. Messages should send no matter. Should send either way in my experience. Running stock or?
Roms typically have LTE settings you can turn on and off at will.
I've had issues sending MMS using 3rd party apps, such as go SMS or handcent. Are you using default messaging? Try that.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
If LTE has just launched in your area, it's because it's not at 100%. During off-peak hours it should send/receive no problem. Give it a few days to a couple weeks for them to fully power the tower.
P.S. MMS is sent over 1x, 3G, and LTE. Not just limited to one.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
well from my experience, if i change the call settings to CDMA/evdo, CM based roms work fine sending MMS (pics and stufff)
but with it on LTE it doesnt work when in a 4G area (they just get stuck on "sending")
the stock MMS app on a stock based rom will work fine regardless if on 3G or 4G though

and yes LTE is only in a couple spots in my area. guess that means coming soon. but we are not a fully "turned on" LTE yet, so i guess thats the problem
i think end of the year 2013 is when sprint says we will officially have LTE (throughout my whole calling area)
Hi, its my first post on the Z1C forum.
I just got one yesterday to replace my Nexus 5 and am accounting a few things I need help with since I am new to the xperia line of phones.
So my phone looks like this (for data) however I can't browse anything. I have mobile data enabled, national roaming and preferred network being 4G but nothing is working. With my Nexus 5 my data just worked so I am unsure why this is happening here. I can send texts and make calls just fine. Phone is on lolipop 5.0.2
The wifi signal in my room is terrible and its constantly dropping and when that happens I can't do anything with it.
I am on tesco mobile with a 2GB 4G plan.

Edit: So I looked around I went into mobile network and scanned, found tesco and registered. So I have 3G data now, but 4G isn't registering. Maybe I need to phone up Tesco and ask them.
Or maybe it's just not a 4G mast where you're connecting?
Is problem "no mobile data at all" or "no LTE connection" ?
Can you transfer data on 3G?
If so - check twice if your SIM card is LTE compatible.
I had to adjust the APN on my phone when I first got it as the one it autodetected wasnt correct. Try that out.
Hi so i just got a z1c and this happened to me. I could send and get text/calls even get notifications and updates. I called sony and t-mobile, nether could help me. Then i found a option under "more" in settings to update "Internet settings" find your server and hit ok. Try it out, i hope this helps.
In my case I needed to contact my carrier to enable 4G. Tried it?
Not sent by me.
settings.>>other>>>internet settings>>>download internet and mms settings...
this should do the trick...
Inconsistent Connection
I got my Z1C a few days ago and updated it to Lollipop yesterday. Ever since the update, the phone has been dropping data connection. I don't know what's the initial cause yet but as it stands, in order to get it working again I have to take out the SIM and reinsert it multiple times. I'm watching it carefully tho because it seems to happen whenever I start Candy Crush. Is there anybody else having this experience?
Hi All,
I just got to Finland, where I should have 3G network coverage, and unlimited texting. But whenever I go to access the internet on my 3G network, it shows that there is no data connection, and when I go to send a text, it says could not send with T-Mobile. I know that I should be able to text and such because last year, it worked perfectly fine, the indicator was that when I arrived and turned on data roaming, T-Mobile sent me a text saying, "Welcome to Finland!" and that sort of stuff, but this year, I didn't get it.
If you guys have any ideas on how to fix this issue, please let me know!
Thanks,
