Hi.
Please tell me,
I have stock Sony, Orange branded 4.3 android version. Not rooted, clean. I read on Sony device papers that Xperia M supports Bluetooth 4.0. Android supports it since 4.3 . But it seems like it doesn't support Bluetooth Low Energy protocol I care about. Is it possible that another Android version (eg. CM) will support it? Does anybody used it with any BLE device for sure? How is this possible that my phone sees target device but cannot further communicate?
Thanks,
Baftek
I always thought Low Energy protocol were a mandatory requirement for Bluetooth 4.0 support...
Sorry, I know this is quite an old post, but I was now running into the same issue (owning an XperiaM and needing BLE compatibility) and read this:
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-M-M-dual/Does-Xperia-M-support-Bluetooth-BLE/td-p/673259/page/5
Long story short, BLE is NOT supported but will be with a future SW update.
Does anyone know if installing CWM will unlock BLE support?

Hi,
I am looking for a stock ROM for Galaxy W, stock ROM I8150B. I bought my phone in Europe but I cannot get it to work in Latin America. Stock ROM I8150B is the one approved to work in my country. Does anyone have the I8150B? I think it was first released in Brazil.
Hi freditoc......
In the other thread
you see this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22213775&postcount=10
So, you can see, despite what I did believe, there may be a difference in the HW supplied with the Brazil/S America/Central America/US versions of our phone as opposed to Euro/Asia
The actual Radio Module to enable 3G/UMTS/CDMA on Bands 850/1900 may not be there, so S/W will not solve this.
As requested by friend arth_ur, in that thread, I have uploaded the back-up of radio/modem.bin from my Euro phone, and perhaps there will be a solution.

Hello friend arth_ur.....(Guinness??)
Please find modem.bin file from my Euro GT-I8150......dropbox link:

Phone/Baseband: I8150OXXKK1
Like you, but in reverse I can only
[*] the 900/2100 CDMA 3G Bands in Service Menu Band Selection...
Hope the file helps!!!!
Cheers

Try http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I8150&r=2#regiona
these appear to be LB's but do mention Asia in their description
So there's a significant difference between I8150 and I8150B? I bought mine on Brazil and couldn't update it to 2.3.6 version via Kies Air (it doesn't show any option that might be it).
That's my first android phone and like the presentation video said, i'm a freaking noob (but very interested in learn). In the settings i couldn't find any information about the firmware. I found the Android Version (2.3.5), Baseband Version (I850BVJKJ5) and the Kernel Version ([email protected] #3(i believe this is about the linux kernel or something).

Hi there,
I have just got my hands on a indian version of One X 16gb through ebay, which is supposedly 3 months old (BOX SAYS ITS FOR INDIA WITH PRICE IN RUPEES AND MADE IN CHINA).
Software it is running is Android 4.0.4, HTC Sense 4.1, Software No. 2.17.707.3 by [email protected] Team
Now I tried to understand what has been said before and update my phone, It fids a uodate and downloads it but than displays the following message "we have identified that your phone may be running a modified version of system software. please revert your phone to official htc system software to update your phone. If you did not modify your system software contact us via support section htc.com"
I am not too technical and dont necessarily want to root my phone etc. ( I dont even know what it means). All I wanted was to improve the battery performance on the phone with new software. If there is no easy solution I am willing to go the whole length just give me the link to threads to follow (easy ones).

Vik
Hi guys,
So i would love to purchase a Nokia N1 but it seems that the Taiwanese version is ultra rare and I really need google play services.
Anyway I have been looking on the forums and its been a long time since I have flashed anything and I am a bit scared about all the horror stories of bricked N1's and the lack of very clear noob guides on how to convert to Tawienese firware and actual have it working without issue.
Can any one tell me if it is worth purchasing the chinese version and will I actually be able to get it play services working or is it too much of a hassle for a noob and still too unstable when flashed?
I also wondered if the packaging label for the taiwan model differs from the chinese model? Is the Taiwanese model manufactured in Shenzhen or in Taiwan?
I have a picture of the label of the one I was going to purchase but I think it may be chinese version....
Any info and help identifying it would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks
ship with Android 5.0 can flash Taiwanese version even if it is Chinese version.
I cannot recommend at buying Nokia N1. Device itself is fantastic but I cannot say the same about software. If you get the Chinese version with Android 5.1.1 (very likely) there is no way to downgrade it to previous 5.0 Android version that can be rooted. Without root there is no Google Play. There are some guides how to downgrade 5.1.1 version to 5.0 but you will only brick your device if trying any of those methods. There is almost zero community support for Nokia N1 and because of this I don't believe we are ever going to see a root for newer Android 5.1.1 version.
If you need Google Play (Android device without Google Play is a crap) please do yourself a favor and buy something else like Samsung Galaxy S2 8.0

Thanks for the info. I ended up finding a real nokia N1 on eBay from taiwan with Googleplay services installed, so all good. Don't need root so think I will just update normally through OTA. Should be OK I think. I agree chinese one looks like too much hassle.
Hey guys
I was told by Philips that my type of Android TV is not being supported with new Android 8 update. Is there any possibility to upgrade to higher version than 4.2.2? It is really making me crazy.
Eventually no apps working properly and no apps to download and above that the TV is bloody slow like snail....
would be greatful for any help.

Hi,
there does exist a hardware upgrade kit for your TV: https://toengel.net/philipsblog/201...pgrade-kit-fuer-2013er-2014er-und-2015er-tvs/ (officially with Nougat, but Oreo is possible)

My now rooted Xiaomi Redmi 7 comes by default with Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, but as far as I know the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 has support for Bluetooth 5.0, I've been doing some research and cannot find a proper answer to my question, also checked some similar posts to this one but none were the same, were all different questions, so I wanted to ask if it's possible to upgrade from Bluetooth 4.2 to 5.0 without any hardware update? or is needed to update the internal Bluetooth Adapter to actually update the Bluetooth Version? Thanks in advance, and sorry for any mistake that I may had.
no bro , hardware is required to upgrade to 5.0 and that too is not normally possible
