Hi guys i just got this lg tablet and seem to have avoided most of the hardware issues however i have noticied if i press the screen firmly in areas outside of dead center the screen glass will press against the screena and cause colour changes.
It seems to be like its not glass and is infact plastic as that is the only time i have eveer encountered this before and havent had this issue on any of my phones, am i being picky or does everyone notice this?
Help on this matter is appreciated! Thanks

Had a go on mine, pressed pretty hard all over the screen, didnt notice any color changes at all, sreen doesnt seem to have much play either.
Same here, pressed as hard as I was comfortable doing and didn't get anything like this. Your screen/glass might not be seated properly.
Mine is fine too.

Ditto with the above posts. You could have a faulty panel, or you are one strong guy. Tap it easier and see if all still works...

Just noticed on my phone earlier when i unlocked it that i hat a red dot near the bottom. Ran a pixel test i found on the market and it shows up on any background and my brightness setting doesn't affect it. Is there any way i can fix this?

Press hard on the screen where the stuck pixel is so the screen distorts in that area and hold for 10 or so seconds. Thats how ive done it for my lcd monitors and its worked.

That wouldn't work anyways cause the screen it under a hard glass cover. Also its not a true lcd screen its an oled screen

Maybe an app could be developed that uses the device gpu/cpu to mimic the effects of Pixel Tuneup?
I can't link because i'm new, but it's pixeltuneup[dot]com.
Just a thought. If this turns out to be a widespread issue, a simple app might be something people would pay a buck or two for. From what I understand, PT just puts out a calibrated video signal that is good at fixing pixel issues.
Ill have to give that a look and maybe contact the developer. Its not that bad of a problem but i always find myself staring at it lol

So does anyone else have a possible idea? I've looked all over Google recently and can't find much about fixing oled screens.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I supposed you've tried the screen calibrators that flash a whole bunch of colors. Thats would really be my only advice. If it doesn't work out a warranty replacement would be my last resort
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Yea I've tried a few if those already and left each one run for about an hour. As for a replacement i wouldn't be able to do since i just got this one after my last one broke. Also I've have this phone for a little over one month or so :/

So why can't you get a replacement ? The phone is to be free of defects for a year, even if you already replaced it. Stuck pixels are a manufacturing defect which is covered under the warranty. If you got it in store, go back to the store. If you got it from 611 or online call the 1800 number and tell them.
Ah ok i see what you mean now. My next issue would be to find a stock 2.3.6 Rom

I just noticed in the bottom right corner where the letter L and bellow also enter key, sensitivity is much lower. Can someone test this please by very lightly tapping on other letters and then L a few times in a row. To get L or Enter i have to push it a few times while other keys work very well.
Any idea what it can be and how do we calibrate the screen on the Galaxy Note 2?
Just tested it and am typing with it now... Seems perfect to me. Calibration may fix accuracy but not sensitivity... I hope you don't have a hardware issue.

I don't know what can be done abut it but I have noticed the exact same thing. I have keep having to press the letter L mutiple times to get it to register. I am using SwiftKey 3 and an Invisibleshield screen protector if that makes any difference.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Screen protector may be interfering with the touch input. Does the screen protector feel really thick?
Sent from my Galaxy Note II via XDA App
What's strange is that drawing or swiping across that area of the screen works and I do see a line with a light touch, it's only when I try to press...
I have zagg hd but I think it was like that before.
I notice the same thing since day one... taps sometimes doesn't register bottom right corner.
I just tested mine. L, M, enter, period, and backspace are all flawless. No lag or sensitivity issues on the bottom right of my screen. It sounds like a hardware issue to me.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
i don't think it's not sensitive, i'm just missing the "l" quite a bit. if they shifted it over a bit i'd be good!
Hi all,
I have that too. Most probably is software issue. HopeNext update will solve it.

There was some mention of this elsewhere, sorry, don't remember where, but some thought it might be caused by the stylus inside. I run mine in mode that doesn't look for the pen when it's sheathed. Might see if that helps?

I've tried that too, still requires several touches for the screen to act on my touches. I get it on the home screen a lot. So I only put my least used app there so I don't get frustrated hitting it twice, thrice to get it to open. Its like a dead spot, but not all the time. Take the s-pen out, works instantly, and consistently. Go figure.

So if u don't already know pretty much all of our s3 phones have black ink spots on the screen when viewing a black background at night time or somewhere really dark. If u don't believe me download the LCD test, go to black color picture wait a few seconds for ur eyes to adjust and ur screen to auto dim in the dark.. and ull see a bunch of stains.
I'm just wondering how bad is too bad?
I have 2 curved lines down the length on the screen and a few other stains. I just want to have an idea if I should replace my screen with hope that I will get less spots or smaller spots than now.
Please post ur ink imperfections here..
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Probably like 6-7 q-tip sized ones. Maybe a little smaller.
=D I only have one spot that looks like some one stroked it with a QTip. Dead center in the screen.
Personally I'd rather have 8 of these marks instead of just one, DEAD CENTER OF MY SCREEN. Brings out the OCD in me.

Don't know and don't care, the phone works perfectly fine for me, no need to be all nit picky over small issues
I refuse to look, if I don't see it now, I won't notice it under normal use. If I do this and see it, I'll constantly dwell on it.
sounds like i got it pretty bad lol
i have about a shirt-button sized circle on the top center as well as a few other random little spots. Doesn't bother me though.
I don't have any.. let's see how many flaws my replacement has :\

That couldn't be more true, but some of us paid a lot for this phone. It's not an issue at all when you think about it, but once you do notice it, it becomes a psychological issue and it upsets the user.

I dled the apps and dont see any spots unless I'm doing something wrong. Can someone tell me exactly wat I'm supposed to be doing
Sent from my galaxys3 using xda premium
The spots are like backlight bleed. I don't think a tester will show anything...
I had this issue with my S2; the refurbished one had them everywhere. When I got my S3, I didn't notice a thing! Thanks for the awareness though.
***t screens.
just saying.
colors are nice, but at what cost. i would trade an HTC LCD screen for this one any day
What's so bad about the ink spots though? Since you can't see it when the screen is or off. Only when it's dark.

Anyone else notice a little lifting on the screen/bezel right around the charging port? Creaking when bezel is pressed? CONFIRMED.
Sorry to hear ,mine is pretty solid to me.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I hear a little clicking sound when squeezing gentle on the bezel in that area, but the glass in that area looks flat and properly installed. I also noticed a very small sensor of some kind, centered in the bezel, just above the charging port. Probably just the hardware under there touching when it is squeezed. IMHO. Nothing that's making me unhappy!!

Yes, have heard of the LED Notification capability, but haven't been "notified" yet to see it in action!! lol.......thanks.
Oh no.. Not this again. Please guys, don't go squeezing it all over looking for a squeak.
If you can visibly see a lift than rma it. If you are squeezing it all over looking for a sqeak then you have way to much time on your hands..

Just saying, I would hope on the second time around ASUS would have figured this out. With my first gen N7 I had to take it apart and jam a qtip in it to help with the screen lift issue but this model doesn't look like it comes apart as easily. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse or its going back. Never had any problems like this with any of my other tablets.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Mine is rock solid. No creaks at all.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Mine does. And my screen now seems a bit unresponsive. It won't respond to some of my touches often and I'd have to press hard. Not sure if its the screen protector I put on it (though it didn't have that problem before) or the screen lift.
Asus, you suck.
Mine used to be good, it now creaks very audibly when pressed on the top left area.
Maybe the glue dried out lol?
Sucks that I had this same issue on my 2012 nexus 7.
Asus....Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me...
I recently rooted, but it was just root, still pure stock; my s pen always was a little off center but I now notice the further into the bottom right corner of the screen I "hover" my pen, the more the "hover" reticle jets right, further than the pen nib.
I have a screen protector but I don't think that's the cause, as I'm not actually touching the screen. However, when I press down the pen draws where the reticle is and it's not center.
I guess this isn't a huge deal, as it's only a small portion of the entire screen, but a possible fix would be nice.

I don't think we have access to any recalibration warez so you'll be stuck using trial and error, like a caveman.
Is it off center with another spen? Any cell store that carriers the Gnote should let you use their spen.
Does a factory reset fix it?
Does a tactical swat fix it?
If nothing up there works you might want to replace it since it could be a hardware problem with the digitizer. I had an old HTC windows phone that had a third of the digitizer go wonky, but it didn't get worse over time.
It's quite literally the bottom corner. Like less than 5% of the screen. The affected area is less than the size of my pinky finger nail. I'll go try tomorrow another pen. Then maybe try a factory reset. Seeing as I now have root it's not that bad of an option. What's a tactical swat?
Plus it seems to have lessened a bit. Either way I may ignore it. Don't know, it doesn't really affect performance in just about anything. Was just curious if anybody had a similar problem before
