Anyone else notice a little lifting on the screen/bezel right around the charging port? Creaking when bezel is pressed? CONFIRMED.
Sorry to hear ,mine is pretty solid to me.

I hear a little clicking sound when squeezing gentle on the bezel in that area, but the glass in that area looks flat and properly installed. I also noticed a very small sensor of some kind, centered in the bezel, just above the charging port. Probably just the hardware under there touching when it is squeezed. IMHO. Nothing that's making me unhappy!!

Yes, have heard of the LED Notification capability, but haven't been "notified" yet to see it in action!! lol.......thanks.
Oh no.. Not this again. Please guys, don't go squeezing it all over looking for a squeak.
If you can visibly see a lift than rma it. If you are squeezing it all over looking for a sqeak then you have way to much time on your hands..

Just saying, I would hope on the second time around ASUS would have figured this out. With my first gen N7 I had to take it apart and jam a qtip in it to help with the screen lift issue but this model doesn't look like it comes apart as easily. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse or its going back. Never had any problems like this with any of my other tablets.

Mine is rock solid. No creaks at all.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Mine does. And my screen now seems a bit unresponsive. It won't respond to some of my touches often and I'd have to press hard. Not sure if its the screen protector I put on it (though it didn't have that problem before) or the screen lift.
Asus, you suck.
Mine used to be good, it now creaks very audibly when pressed on the top left area.
Maybe the glue dried out lol?
Sucks that I had this same issue on my 2012 nexus 7.
Asus....Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me...

I’ll post some pics later, but wondering if anyone else has a gap between the glass and bezel on the right side of the phone? The left side seems pretty flush with the glass.

Mines like that too. I thought it was normal. I was worried about crud getting in the crack but its been fine and doesn't affect anything on the phone.
I just tried to take a macro shot of it and had no luck. Wonder if I should swap it out. Really don't want to get stuck with one that actually has an issue.
i'm more worried about dust under the glass. having that gap, i'm sure it will

Closer inspection shows there is some dust in there but not a lot at all. I have 8 days to decide on swapping it. Don't know how many returns wirefly allows.
Where did you get your phone from? Would they swap it out for that.

Mine does not have that issue.
To be fair, there is a tiny (I mean really tiny) gap on both sides but nothing that looks out of place. It appears it's by design.
Yours appears to be much worse.

I pulled my case off just to check and i have a very noticeable gap on the left and bottom sides of my screen. Its not enough of a reason for me to exchange it but its there. I always have the body glove case on so i dont ever see it

I believe that these small gaps are by design, seriously. Think about the dispersion of shock when the device hits the ground. If it was perfectly flush with the
metal it would be way more likely to crack instantly..with the gap some energy escapes giving the glass a small but crucial release of pressure.

Yeah. The left side has a really small gap but the right is pretty big. Its big enough i can stick my fingernail in it.

Thinking about doing an exchange but I'm worried about getting this issue
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300133&highlight=quadrant
Seems to he pretty common. I personally dont have the issue or any issues build wise on my current phone. Its risky because I think I can only exchange one time.
Yeah. That's what I'm worried about. Going in to exchange it tomorrow morning and gonna check the hell out of the phone before I leave the store.
I noticed it more today when I got my TPU case and the right side would get caught up on the gap.
Better pics of the gap. one of the left with the smallest gap and one of the right like grand canyon (ok...may not as big, but close )

So I bought a T-Mobile gs2 the other day off Craigslist and the screen is kinda raised from the bezel down at the bottom. I have tried to push it down but it doesn't do anything. It's kind of annoying because the light from the 4 buttons comes through the bottom. Anyone have any suggestions of how to set it down into the bezel? Thanks
Only option I can see would be to open it up and try pushing it down once you've got some screws loose.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454537
Only guide I was able to find on a tear down of the device, use it at your own risk.
The chrome around the phone appears cracked too looking at your provided pic
that's what happens when u buy off Craigslist lol
Geez that's ugly! Once you said craigslist, I Lmao.... Try to unscrew and perform surgery.
I'm just sayin!
Haha well I got a pretty good deal on it. I'll try some surgery and see if that works. If not I'll just re-sell it, its not terribly noticeable.
Is that a crack on your bezel????

I see multiple, lol. You should've checked it out thoroughly before buying, cheap price or not if the seller didn't mention those flaws and labeled it in good shape or even mint it should come that way.

Yeah but what does that have to do with the question I asked??
Maybe get a new bezel.
Looks like it was dropped in that dented corner which forced the bezel to shove the screen up. hope you didnt play more than 200 on it... or you might as well bought it new.

Does it press in and lift back up or it doesn't go down at all?
I'm just sayin!
The dented corner isn't effecting it. And I can sort of push down the corners but when I push on the middle it doesn't budge.

I have the att optimus g and the bottom right hand corner of the screen seems to be raised a little bit. It doesn't compress or move at all if you push down on it and it is only very slightly raised. Is this something that is normal with this phone? Should I worry about it?

I would get it waranty replaced since it's a manufacturing defect. Does it effect case fitting or screen protector ?
I haven't tried to put a case or screen protector on yet, but I don't imagine it would effect them. It still feels very solid. I may just try to reseat the screen myself or something.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I do not have any sort of screen lift, my device is very solid E971.
I just tried putting a case on it and it doesn't effect it all. It seems to be an almost non issue, but instead something that is just frustrating because the device is brand new. My nexus 7 has the screen lifting issue, and this is no where near as and as that.

I just got my Nexus 7 (2013) a few days ago and there is a thin scratch in the middle of the screen. The thing is, I don't even know how it got there. Its not connecting to the bezel or the end of the glass, so I don't think its a scratch. Should I bring it back? Or will they just say its my fault? Anyone else notice their screen scratching easily?

I thought I saw fine scratches on mine already, but i cleaned it really well and now its flawless again. I'd take it back and not say anything about the screen. just say its been randomly rebooting and you want to exchange for another one.

How do you scratch this baby?
With your fingers?
Do you put some books on the screen?
Do you put the tab in your pocket?
Sorry I can't figure out..

I noticed a very fine scratch on mine also. I had been putting it screen face down when I place it down somewhere to protect the screen, should something fall on it. I don't know how it got the scratch but it is annoying. I now put it screen up when I put it down somewhere though.
The silicone adhesive on the 'hard' screen protectors will fill it in for the most part.
Hi guys i just got this lg tablet and seem to have avoided most of the hardware issues however i have noticied if i press the screen firmly in areas outside of dead center the screen glass will press against the screena and cause colour changes.
It seems to be like its not glass and is infact plastic as that is the only time i have eveer encountered this before and havent had this issue on any of my phones, am i being picky or does everyone notice this?
Help on this matter is appreciated! Thanks

Had a go on mine, pressed pretty hard all over the screen, didnt notice any color changes at all, sreen doesnt seem to have much play either.
Same here, pressed as hard as I was comfortable doing and didn't get anything like this. Your screen/glass might not be seated properly.
Mine is fine too.
