[BOOT] Boot Up With Some Class (New Version + 8 Variations)

I was in the creative mood and decided I wanted a boot animation with some style. My phone looks sexy booting up with this bad boy, so I hope it beefs up your Inc 2 as well. The full looping here is simply for presentation purposes. While the phone is actually booting, the spinner will spin infinitely until your ROM gets started up. Check the attachments for previews of all the colored versions.
I also made an Incredible S variant of this boot animation.
Let me know what you think!

Requirements
You just need root access to replace the stock bootanimation.zip with the download (whichever color you choose) here.
Instructions
1. Find your stock bootanimation.zip file. The location depends on the ROM but on AOSP this is usually "/system/media". On Sense it will normally be found in "/system/customize/resource". If it isn't in either, check "/data/local".
2. Rename the stock file to bootanimation.zip.bak (so you can revert if necessary) or simply overwrite it with the file downloaded from here.
3. Check the permissions of the new file. They should be set to ”rw-r--r--" as seen in this image.
4. Should be it. Reboot to see the magic happen.
Sense Bootscreen Changer
If you have issues changing the bootscreen on a Sense ROM or just want it done easily, try this app by vsaravind007. I haven't tested it myself but it may work for you.

I actually meant that the .gif loops forever but the actual boot animation will stop after the ink disappears, leaving the text on black. No background would be boring I will update the OP

[SPLASH] GS3 Splash Screens

Usual disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. Period. Do this at your own risk.
Thanks so much to con247 (link) for making the splash screen converter I used for these. Here is a link to the converter to make your own splash screens: Automatic Splash Image Creator (PNG to Flashable Zip in One Click!) (link).
I have a splash screen thread in the myTouch 4G forum (link), and since con247 posted his converter I have had my splash screen replaced. These were pretty popular when I was using the MT4G, so I wanted to share them here too since I've had a little time.
Thanks to QTeknology for his original post with his Nexus One splash screen I used.
These splash screens were originally made by JSZESZE for the Evo 4G. Thanks go to him for allowing me to post these here. If you have any friends with an Evo, they can get their copies here (link).
Instructions:
Do a backup of your ROM (Nandroid).
Flash through CWM or TWRP. I have not tested with TWRP because I use CWM.
These replace an image in the kernel, so it will have to be re-flashed after every new ROM/kernel installation.
Also, these should be compatible with all versions of the Galaxy SIII that con247's converter supports. Follow the link to his thread to confirm compatibility across carriers (link).

I didn't post it because there are already a couple of threads that have it posted. I found two. One is in the AT&T section, the other is in the Sprint section.
AT&T: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951551
Sprint: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939672
Both of these should work just fine on out T-Mobile versions since the splash screen builder creator (con247) built and released his splash creator for all versions of the S3. Double check with his thread though just to be sure. It should be linked in the OP.
If you need any other help, feel free to ask.

That's kind of weird. This is supposed to be injected into the kernel. I was under the impression that all kernels no matter what ROM you were using should be able to use this. The only reason I can think of that would make this not work is that they changed how the splash screen is coded into the kernel.
Your best bet on getting this to work would be to ask in the kernel you are using and link to this thread so they know which zips you are trying to flash. I haven't tried an AOSP ROM in a while, but last time I tried CM 10.1 I flashed this and it worked just fine. That was a couple of months ago at least, so I'm not sure if something has changed.
P.S. If you find out what got it working for you I would really appreciate a post in here so I can update the OP.
Looking for someone who can convert these to zips I've tried with no luck.I must be missing something.

You should ask a kernel developer that makes a 4.2.2 kernel. They'll be able to tell you if it's possible or not, since this mod replaces an image in the kernel.

Please note that the frame rate is much slower and more natural on the phone than the gif.
To install, copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media
(Must be on a ROM/Kernel that supports the use of custom bootanimation.zip files)
And if anyone's interested, I also created a Walking Dead custom splash screen for the S3 here.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately, the stock ROM on the GS3 doesn't support custom boot animations. You'll need to be on a ROM with a kernel that supports them. Something like CyanogenMod, etc.
I should have mentioned that, sorry.
This is great! Used root explorer to write the boot animation. Thank'd
Im running flaux kernel it didn't work. I renamed the stock samsung loop .bak
Could that be why?

Try putting it in /data/local instead of /system/media and set permissions.
Edit: nice work btw
Still the same. What do I do about old boo file?
Also permission are rw rw r
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
In the most simplest terms so as not to cinfuse you...When you put something in /data/local it is read by the phone at bootup before anything else. You can use this to test scripts and other neat things so that you can leave your /system completely unadulterated. Meaning, you can leave your /system/media/bootanimation.zip right where it is.
Permissions are rw-r-r not rw-rw-r
Got it to work... But my question is.. Is it suppose to be sideways?

Yes. I tried making it work in a portrait view, but it was either too small to appreciate or too cropped to get the whole effect. In the end, I chose to leave it in landscape so it would fill the screen.

Other examples include: Game intro's/ Loading screen (eg: BattleField intro, Gears of War loading screen, Blops2 etc), Or something personal to you (Video clip or anything).

I wish I had a Manchester United boot animation It would be really great
my idea: the crest came in and then below it 'Manchester United' text came in. Maybe below this text 'BEL20VE' would be great with red letters Thanks man

[Requests based thread][boot animations] animations YOU want!

Well I wanted to make this thread in general section..but I got confused as its about boot animations...and that comes in theming section...this is a thread where u can request any damn thing and I will make it as boot animation I promise ..*kidding*..
There are many threads about it..so don't worry..either I will post after making ur animation here..or in iceyhotguy's thread..(by informing him of course, )..
Request anything u like..game intros....song which is cooler as animation if u think....any other intro u want...anything....
Requests are welcomed...
Sorry if someone thinks its in wrong section... But it was confusing in which to start..hope u all cooperate ..
Feel free to ask..and u will get it done in next 3 days (if there are bunch of requests)..or the very next hour ......
my current animation am making and using.
try it if you like!!

- The NVIDIA one!
- And regarding the SOCCER boot animation, try to make it like the APPLE's boot animation with Manchester United's logo with the glow effect. Try keeping it at 480p
Hoping for great results. Thanks once again :good:
