Since it's been surprisingly difficult to find any zombie-related boot animations, let alone for the S3, I had to make my own.
Thought I'd share. I'm sure I'm not the only one looking.

Please note that the frame rate is much slower and more natural on the phone than the gif.
To install, copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media
(Must be on a ROM/Kernel that supports the use of custom bootanimation.zip files)
And if anyone's interested, I also created a Walking Dead custom splash screen for the S3 here.
Enjoy!
Im gonna try this and report back looks really cool !

Unfortunately, the stock ROM on the GS3 doesn't support custom boot animations. You'll need to be on a ROM with a kernel that supports them. Something like CyanogenMod, etc.
I should have mentioned that, sorry.
This is great! Used root explorer to write the boot animation. Thank'd
Im running flaux kernel it didn't work. I renamed the stock samsung loop .bak
Could that be why?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Try putting it in /data/local instead of /system/media and set permissions.
Edit: nice work btw
Still the same. What do I do about old boo file?
Also permission are rw rw r
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
In the most simplest terms so as not to cinfuse you...When you put something in /data/local it is read by the phone at bootup before anything else. You can use this to test scripts and other neat things so that you can leave your /system completely unadulterated. Meaning, you can leave your /system/media/bootanimation.zip right where it is.
Permissions are rw-r-r not rw-rw-r
Got it to work... But my question is.. Is it suppose to be sideways?

I did a little checking and it doesn't look like faux kernel supports custom boot animations. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes. I tried making it work in a portrait view, but it was either too small to appreciate or too cropped to get the whole effect. In the end, I chose to leave it in landscape so it would fill the screen.

OK make sure you have a root explorer with read and write capabilities. If you go to the very top file after that you'll see a folder called system. In the system folder will be a lib folder. Copy the lib and paste it there. Then copy seclauncher2.apk to the app folder that's inside the system folder as well. Let me know if you got it. Then reboot.

im still hesitant to flash this because there are no screenshots.. so I dont know what im going to flash and if I dont like it the only way i can revert is if i reflash the ROM.. can you provide screenshots?

actually that is incorrect, the flash provides a backup for you. so all you have to do is flash the backup... simple and easy revert.
Please don't flash if you don't feel comfortable, i don't want anybody to feel pressured. i would of provided screenshots but, i have moved onto a new rom. Currently working on the jedi series, maybe ill come back when there is an update on the rom and apply more theme-ing with screenshots for sure.

lol. that is way too funny. i flashed jovy's v4 rom, rebooted, flashed this theme, logged in to see if there was a v4 theme, saw the screenshot while waiting for the phone to reboot, it rebooted and I went into recovery, factory reset, wiped dalvik chache, wiped system and moved on with my life. Everyone's gotta start somewhere I guess.

Firstly, this zip is only available for Galaxy Nexus phones that are rooted. All others need not apply. Sorry. If you’re packing a rooted G-Nex with a custom recovery installed, follow the instructions below. Also, some people are reporting bugs with Photo Sphere – mine worked fine, but just know that there are issues for some.
This also works for the SGS3, but you have to be running the latest in CM10 builds, or in my case Liquid Jelly Bean RC7
Instructions:
1. Download the 4.2Camera.zip - Mirror file.
2. Place the zip file on the root of your phone’s storage.
Optional: Rename Gallery2.apk to something like Gallery2.apk.bak, or you'll have two Camera apps
3. Reboot into your recovery.
4. Just in case, make a backup.
5. Flash the 4.2Camera.zip file. (No need to wipe anything)
6. Once installed, reboot your phone.
7. Lastly, enjoy it!
Update: Photo Effects Now Work! (11/1/12)
Still looking into the locking up the camera when using autofocus. Until then peeps manually focus before hitting the button to take the shot.
*Don't like the 4.2 Camera? Well.....Revert back by flashing this StockCM-Cam Package!
Thanks to elesbb and defcomg we now have the Nexus 4 camera that works on any device....given it's up-to-date enough to work!
Works great +thanks

When you're viewing the finished 360° image, touch the screen to bring up the overlay. There is a sharing button with a logo or drop-down list when touched. Simply touch the maps logo and it takes you to the Maps sharing interface.

Can everyone see it on maps then? Or just people with a link?

Official 4.2 GAPPS
so does anybody know when we will get the official zip for the 4.2 GAPPS??
Well my question will be that once we can, is there a stock non rooted way to install? Can't really flash random zips as stock

Probably not, it requires some libraries to be copied over.
I have finally figured out how to change our system fonts. So far i know this will work on ZVB. I can't speak for anything else.
**Disclaimer** If your phone becomes a paper weight or causes your girl to leave you i am in NO WAY RESPONSIBLE... Nor is anyone else on XDA for that matter.
Requirements:
Rooted ZVB
Rom Toolbox (can be found in the market)
Instructions:
1) Open Room toolbox and go to build.prop editor
2) Locate ro.lge.fonts and change it from true to false
3) Save and reboot
4) go back into Rom toolbox, find fonts, select one, install it, reboot.... Profit!!!!
If you have any questions feel free to let me know

I've noticed there is a section in toolbox that asks what fonts do you want to overwrite. Should they all be checked?

Yeah I did that once on my NS4G. You definitely do not want to check them all. There should be only a few selected by default. The others have always caused me issues. I'm sure more than the few work, but some of them cause instability so I would only try to add a few at a time if you want to go all out.
I remember that they all stayed checked when I went back to fix it on my NS4G. So, in case you need them, here's the default. Only the four should be checked.

I highly doubt you have a brick. You mean to tell me your device does not power on nor is it recognized by your computer or anything?? I wouldn't have said to check them all if I didn't do the same thing myself. I dunno what you did, but something extra must have happened

I've been trying to figure out how to change my font for quite some time now. Using ROM Toolbox does work but does not change everything for me. So when I came across this thread I was hoping it was gonna work. I followed the steps and still had the same results.
Does anybody know how to actually change all the font correctly??
