Hi,
I have just flashed ARHD and noticed my data icon now shows LTE instead of 4G as it was on stock. I've already searched about for some possible solutions but nothing works.
Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

Look at the /system/customize/ACC/default.xml there is a bool for it, can't remember where exactly but its in there.

In default.xml change this line
name="show_4g_for_lte">true</item>
<item type="boolean"
Make sure it's true and save it. Remember to mount as r/w first

Can this be done on Lollipop?
Guessing on an ATT device by the stock 4g icon, what you have been told in thread is correct but can also change the sku to att which is correctly shown below...

If you open up default.xml under system>customize>acc and go all the way to the bottom and edit the line with sku_id>42< and change the number to 7 it gives you the AT&T icons. 11 will give you T-mobile Icons (my personal fav). My Developer edition uses 6 and shows LTE not 4G
Hehe my [email protected] numbers that was off top of my head...Also be aware that if using euro build and change sku numbers some built in features may not work that are associated with the carrier sku's

How do I keep my 3g network always on? By this I mean sometimes when it goes off I have to turn off radio and turn it back on again in order for it to work. Also I could be on internet and then all of a sudden it won't connect. Again I have to restart connection. This as you can imagine can be very frustrating. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

do not know if this would help but try this. first make sure you go into settings and turn mobile network on. then download an app which link is in my signature. download it from market and install it on your phone..do not worry you do not need to be rooted. once you installed that top option where it says put data connection to sleep untick that.
let me know how it goes for you...
Thanks tried that but it doesn't seem to work. Was wondering if there was build prop settings or something like that?

Do you have to use a CPU to get the ROM on your phone. Because I just flashed and no WiFi is the only problem

Would this work for HTC Evo 3D?

could it be because my one v is flashed?
So, today my phone decided to disconnect from Google servers and never reconnect again. I tried clearing Google services framework, turning airplane mode off then on, rebooting. Nothing worked. I even searched for network providers. No luck. Icon remained gray.
I remembered an alternate apn for ATT that used to make my old atrix way faster than the default apn settings. As soon as I changed my apn, all was back to normal. I guess att will be eliminating the WAP apn in the near future. Anyways, see the screenshots for what worked for ME.

None at all. Make sure you save the settings then select it. Also, delete the original apn settings to prevent any conflicts.

Thanks, got a different one to work though. Of course after finding one I went back to my daily driver (switched to another nandroid to see if that was issue) and now the default works. Go figure.

The default failed me big time today. Nothing like having no connectivity when you need it the most.

Dear Experts out there
I also have HTC One VX - I don't live in US therefore I had to sim unlock the device, which I did.
I was able to successfully S-Off the device and changed the Super CID to 22222222 and flash CWM Recovery.
Everything works fine except the wifi on my 2G network Sim.
Note: Wifi works without sim, wifi works with AT&T sim but wifi does not works with my country network sim. Only 2g network is available in my country.
Workaround: I use AT&T sim for wifi to work and quickly swap it with my Network SIM and wifi works until the phone is switched off or restarted.
I need permanent solution for this if anyone can help or know what is the reason behind wifi not working with my 2G based Network Sim
Regardz
This sounds odd. Are you running a stock ROM or custom? And would you be able to pull a log for us?
Using custom rom, tried many roms same response, what logs u want me to pull

Sorry, a logcat. Just download catlog from the market. Make sure to reproduce the problem. Then go into catlog, press the menu button, and hit save. Then upload here so we can have a look.

Hey MansonDroid
Any update over the logs?
Did you find anything odd?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I have but I'm not quite sure what it is associated with. Trying to do some research on the subject. For now, do a nandroid backup and try flashing a different ROM if you haven't tried already to see if it helps.

Thanks for your followup. Well i have tried two to three roms, the problem exists in all of them.
Its allright, u see if u find something

Are you running Jmz's kernel? Did you make sure you successfully changed the Cid on the phone? Did you try and S-OFF?
Sent from my HTC One VX using xda app-developers app
This is what I found odd:
Unable to open connection to supplicant on "wlan0":No such file or directory, retry 0
I want to say it has something to do with the WiFi driver? Which has something to do with the kernel I believe? Don't know too much about low low level things.
Sent from my HTC One VX using xda app-developers app
Hey. If you would have read above, I have said i have done all the things u are saying.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Well thanks for your feedback, this info is reasonable for me I guess. If it is what you are saying maybe trying more kernels. Maybe something will help.
Thanks for all the followup u have carried, appreciated

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help on the issue. I'm sure someone who knows more about low level development will see this and advise you better than I. I wish you luck sir.

I flashed a n9005 rom on my n900t phone and miss the 4g icon rather than the international H+ icons... is there a mod I can flash back? I know theres a stock att build prop zip I can flash to get everything but correct me if im wrong, but theres hacks in the build prop that I might lose by flashing that? Also, gonna flash a att modem if thats of any info...
Get Root Explorer and open your build.prop in the text editor.
Change the Device Name (N900T) to the carrier of the 4G icon you want.
Upon reboot, it will change.
