Yes man. Just use Nokia X Toolkit to boot into CWM Recovery and flash, or you can simply flash it through stock recovery.

u need root to get all PRIVILEGE of ur device!
by gaining root access you can modify the device's software on the very deepest level. It takes a bit of hacking (some devices more than others), it voids your warranty, and there's a small chance that you could completely break your phone forever. But you know what? It's still totally worth it for all the goodies you get access to.
u can simple unroot the phone when anything goes wrong and then guarantee is automatically applied
ur guarantee will not be violated cheers

Here is how you do this:
Boot into CWM Recovery using Nokia X Toolkit.
Mount system by going into Mounts and Storage--> Mount System. (This is because you aren't rooted and there is no busybox)
Now flash zip and reboot. I hope this works now.

Try copying to another place on sdcard other than dropbox folder....also check the size of the file.Your download may have been corrupted for which you may have to download again.
If you had simply copied it from PC to mobile or downloaded directly on mobile it would have been easier.

I do not use a custom ROM, my phone already came with 2.3.4, can that be the reason it's not working?
If the above is not the reason...
I use the free verwsion of ROM manager, which I downloaded from the market, so I don't the problem is in this app. Is it possible that another app is "getting in the way" or something like that?
Thanks for the help

So you are not on custom rom.Thats why it was not working. If you don't want custom ROMs,the easiest way to get custom boot animation is to install a custom kernel like CF-root kernel which supports custom boot animation. Otherwise you have to deodex your firmware and follow custom boot animation tutorial the hard way.
nice, thank you!
i will try the Dancing Droid

He's actually on stock recovery by the looks of the text. So the script does not run.
Hi everybody. It's a known fact that people brick their devices by incorrectly using rom manager. But rom manager isn't completely dangerous, it is usable if it's used the right way, this guide will show you how to use rom manager without bricking you phone.
Reported that it does not work with stock kernel.
I am not responsible for any damage done to your phone, if you hardbricked it you have done something wrong. Follow step 1 CAREFULLY!
0. (Skip if you already installed clockworkmod recovery)
First of all, you will have to install clockworkmod recovery on your phone. This is where some people brick their phones, the trick is to not use rom manager to do it. Instead use this clockworkmod found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650 flashing instructions are in the thread, read it carefully. When you're done flashing clockworkmod recovery or if you already have clockworkmod recovery, proceed to step 1

1.
Download and install rom manager from Google Play. Now, what you're going to do is to select Flash Clockworkmod Recovery then a window saying confirm phone model pops up and should look like this:
If you're seeing other phone models than GT-S5660, don't proceed!!! You will hardbrick your phone!!!

On the screenshots I actually used px recovery, but I did this with normal cwm a long time ago, so yeah, ext4 and rfs support, as long as a recovery is cwm based it should work.
Also, no it won't brick, I've been using this since i built up courage to touch rom manager. But first now I wanted to share it.

A huge numbers of points like:
- install ROM-s with stock kernel
- fixing permissions
- wiping cashe, dalvik cashe...
Now if I want to install some custom ROM, on my Xperia P, I have to copy one file by one into the right directory and change permissions on all of them taking into account the hierarchy cause I can finish in boot loop if not respecting that...
So I can't wait for Mr.Krypton :good: to make a CWM for Xperia P !
Hello,
If I have version 1, I can simply install version 2?

yup u can
any screen shot on how the cwm looks like?
Hi friends..!! Basically,
you may wanted to
flash a custom kernel
on your Samsung Galaxy Y or other phone but don't have a PC to flash it via Odin; then by this method, you can flash it by CWM!
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT
RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY
KIND OF DAMAGES &
BRICKS. I can still help
you if you bricked your
phone
1.. Download the kernel
file to your SD Card. It
should be in *.zip or *.rar or *.7z extension.
2. Extract the file via
Root Explorer.
3. You'll get a "boot.img"
file after the extraction
is completed. This file IS the main kernel.
4. Now create a folder in your SD Card to be
shown as /clockworkmod/backup/*KERNEL NAME*. Replace ''KERNEL NAME'' to the name of the kernel you are flashing.
5. Move boot.img file you got after extraction to "/sdcard/
clockworkmod/backup/
NAME/*HERE*. (the folder you've created- in
step#4).
6. View the details of
that boot.img file. (long
tap on file>Details- on
root explorer).
7. Copy the MD SUM you
got in file details.
8. Now there, create a
file and name it as nandroid.md5 . Open
nandroid.md5 file you
have created in a TEXT
EDITOR and paste that
md5 sum you've
copied ..and save ur
nandroid.md5 file.
Now there will be 2 files
in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/NAME/*HERE*:
--BOOT.IMG
--NANDROID.MD5
make sure their is no
other file except these two (boot.img, nandroid.md5)
9. Boot in CWM recovery.
10. Mount/System.
11. Select "backup and
restores''> advanced
restore.
12. Choose ur kernel file.
13. Select restore boot> comfirm restore.
14. When restore done,
goto ADVANCED and fix
permissions.
15. Finally, click on

Phone will restart and
1st boot will take some

False - if you have an flashable Boot ZIP. you can flash that with the recovery. ONLY FOR SENSE ROMS! (I dont know whether it works with Non Sense roms - i cant try it!)
here you have a flashable Boot Animation ZIP:
INSTRUCTIONS:
In the zip is a README.txt - READ IT! There are more information they'll you need!
This are the short steps:
1) Put your Bootanimation in the downloaded ZIP archive by /system/customize/resouce
2) If you have a Sense Rom rename them
3) Delete the README File in the folder
4) Flash the Zip via your recovery and enjoy your new Bootanimation

Bootanimation Flasher with this KitKat Animation (you have nothing to do - only to flash it)

KitKat Easteregg Bootdown: http://bit.ly/1fNMEA9 (Dropbox)
ALLTIME REMEMBER: READ AND FOLLOW THE STEPS! KNOW YOUR PHONE!

hi, you are right; bootanimation down link works when i tried on desktop computer. via mobile, for some reason, stock browswer/dolphin and chrome kept giving me 'page does not exist/is down' error messages. sorry, should have tried via desktop (or at least desktop mode in mobile) before posting that link was down. quick question: if i want to change the 4.4.2 text, is it as simple as replacing the jpgs in the zip and reflashing? ie: i dont want the text and was going to copy one of the other images and rename them to replace the image files with the 4.4.2 images...
Seyidaga, serious question, why are the bit up and down not flashable zips from recovery?

So how exactly do I get the boot logo (splash img)? I was able to get the boot animation using Rom Toolbox but I wasn't able to flash the HTC splash img. Any help appreciated (I'm on the m8, btw).
