"Always working" method is flash 6.1.A.2.50 with Flashtool (without wiping anything, except if you wish) and root with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Rooting itself is done in 5 minutes. Flashing? Also 5 mins.
6.1.A.2.55 firmware is not rootable, you can just flash prerooted .55 rom in CWM, but for that you still need rooted .50.
Hi guys:
Just i want to know how to root xperia ion on 6.1.E.3.7 with unlocked bootloader , i tried to use the pre rooted kernel but it didn't work for some devices like what the developer of it.

Youre on Xperia Ion, rom 6.1.E.3.7 rite? If bootloader unlocked, just flashing the GI Kernel should work...
Have you tapped the sony logo during boot ?? Tap it as much as you can and see what happens...
Btw how do you flash it? Flashtool ?

Aha Bin4ry tool , i am using it for along time but it can't root this new version.
Now i am using a pre rooted rom , but i will still like to know how to root the stock one.
If the stock GI kernel dont work for you...Try the OC kernel with root...Just try it as it will give root permission or not...
Or maybe you can try deodexed stock rom rooted....If still dont work, then just wait for the dev to make new way to gain root

did you get your pre-rooted stock rom from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055043 ?
if not would you please guide me to where you got it from ? is it working well and fast for you ?
a side question ... before you get a rooted rom did you face any problems with connecting to Wifi-networks while having middle eastern sim inserted?
thank you in advance .

Hi! I can't root or flash CWM on my Ion too. Can you post the link to the ROM you're using?
I believe it's useful for sake of clarity to concentrate in a single TD the search of the rooting method for the new firmaware JB 4.3 and its detailed explanation.
So far I have seen this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51395773&postcount=38 from gamer649 mentioning the methods NOT working
this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51397314&postcount=48 from rsrishabh suggesting another method (anyone with a follow-up ?)
and finally this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51425160&postcount=99 claiming an easy method; StraightEdgeKid, could you please elaborate your method here ?
Here is mine one i have already rooted 4.3 successfully..

Umm, not really. At this point many many of us are hoping for a root method that doesn't involve screwing around with the bootloader. So your post and question is quite pertinent

I believe the point andyxoxo is making has a lot of sense: haresh311999's methods works only with unlocked bootloaders. People who cannot unlock bootloaders or doesn't want (myself), doesn't have a working rooting tool/method. Let's write in this thread our effort (I changed the title accordingly).
So far among the known methods only what rsrishabh is suggesting has to be tested.

If you flash 4.3 on top of 4.1.2 won't it wipe system including root? Or did I not get it. If you think it will work I can try it later.

As expected it didn't work. It wipes /system and then flashes the one from the .ftf.
Well, I have rooted my phone with flashing 4.1 kernel and then this SuperSU app from here.
http://download.chainfire.eu/382/SupeSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip
Then again flashed 4.3 kernel.

I think this method might work.
Bcz if we select not to wipe user data, it will keep the user apps and data, I'm not sure what happens with system apps and SuperSu is system app, yeah?
Possibly it won't.
This is just my guess.
It will keep the SuperSU app but it will not have the "root" power.
It's just a guess, someone must try on locked bootloaders.
it's work?
did u try it?

your device is unlock bootloader right? this is a flashable zip, so you can flash it in recovery mode. and i've been trying before for my xperia m Single Sim. My stock rom version is 15.4.a.1.9 and all work fine after reboot, but if your device running on deodexed firmware you have all access, but maybe bravia engine and sony theme engine can't work properly i think just try it ok. but if your bootloader is still locked you only can deodexed app, for framework i don't know it can or not, because may be bootloop and it will same happen if you try to change superusermod too, but bravia engine and sony theme engine is working properly, for Superusermod you can enable it with Serajr Xperia Xposed with that module i think you can do many customization for your xperia, you can find that file in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612179, or you can try download directly here http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.serajr.xperia.xposed. Have try:laugh:
