“Firmware upgrade encountered an issue" after flashing custom rom - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey i have a note 2 running stock firmware v4.1.1 ... i tried to update the phone to 4.1.2 by the phone and not kies and when the download of the upgrade finishes , the phone says upgrade fails and keeps me on 4.1.1 ...............
so i went into a different direction to root my phone and then flash a custom rom.... i rooted it successfully and flashed MJ5 bootloader also and was ready to install the custom rom running 4.3... i went into recovery and was flashing the rom .... when i choose the flashing method and finished everything and did reboot ... the phone got me a message says that “Firmware upgrade encountered an issue" and i need kies recovery

Install latest philz cwm or twrp recovery, go into recovery and wipe data/factory reset or choose option to clean for new rom Install, after that flash custom rom.

All else fails, you can always download a stock .tar and revert back to stock. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258628 is a pretty good How-To. Just substitute the OUDHS recovery .tar for whichever one you want to use.
THANKS
Thank you so much to every one finally i can solved my problem with my s4, now root again and put a custom recovery

I need help. ASAP
ok heres the deal I upgraded to 4.3 via wifi on the phone then i rooted using cf autoroot which was supposedly knox undetectable, it wasnt my knox is now 0x1, and i restored my data, cache, and boot that i had from 4.2.2 and then it went to a black screen when booting with the led functioning. so i flashed to stock using odin and it worked but wifi sound and sd card did not work so i tried to upgrade via kies thinking it would solve my problem, it didnt it crashed at 43% and put me in firmware encountered issue mode so i went to download and flshed 4.2.2 stock multiple times but no success with wifi or sound please help. it is all stock i erased all memory and retored to stock. 4.2.2 stock Bell Canadian i337m. [Q] Help needed GT 9505 turned SGH M919 TMob

My phone is a i9505, rooted and with latest Philz recovery. I flashed [ ROM ][AROMA][4.4] KitKat KangBang v1.0.3 [Nov, 13 2013] from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524837.
Now i have this problem: i lost root, i can't reboot in recovery mode and my phone is now turned from the international version (9505) into TMobile US version SGH M919 so i can't downgrade or upgrade anymore.
Tried to reflash Philz by odin but nothing changed: everytime i try to enter recovery mode the phone keeps booting KitKat KangBang v1.0.3 (almost perfectly working).
What have i to do? Flash original firmware by Odin, then root and mod recovery?
Is so what kind of original firmware should be used? International 9505 or TMobile M919 one?
I'm scared to brick my device and i'd like to have it back to 9505.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

If you can access Download mode (Odin Mode) then you have no problems. If you're too scared to try out flashing back to original, let Kies do it for you. Install Kies and choose "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization". It will ask you for a specific Model number, You should write GT-I9505 and then it will ask you for the serial number, and then it would ask you to switch to download mode and it would download the latest stock rom for your device and flash it.

King regards!
This is very simple if you want it to be. Flash using the instructions at the link then do a factory wipe from stock recovery, flash again to stock and do another factory wipe.
For the flash to stock, just head over here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267895
Follow the instructions and that will re-flash T-Mobile stock everything.

boot problem after OTA update to 4.3

my note 2 with 4.1.2 was absolutely stock. a few months ago i rootet it with cf-autoroot. today i wanted to update to 4.3 via OTA. didnt do any research on that topic and got stuck in the following issue:
the 600mb update file for 4.3 was downloaded successfully. afterwards i clicked "install" and the phone bootet. since then i'm stuck in the boot screen that says "samsung galaxy note II GT-n7100".
i cannot get into recovery mode (vol up + home + power). doesn't work.
i do get into download mode (vol down + home + power). this works!
is there a way to fix that, or to get back to 4.1.2 to recover my personal data (yes, no backup of sms done).
or is the only way to flash 4.3 via odin. does this work out of the box or am i facing additional issues when i do so?
appreciate your help! (sorry for my english)
btw:
custom binary download: yes (1 counts)
current binary: custom
system status: official
flashing the twrp custom recovery solved my problem!
the system bootet into 4.1.2 telling me that the update to 4.3 failed. i'm very happy about that :good:
so anyone knows if there is a safe way to get 4.3 from a rootet 4.1.2 (stock rom) ???

Note 2 n7100 locked to stock rom?

Hi guys!
I have here a samsung note 2 gt-n7100 from Globe telecom (philippines) which has the following software details:
Android 4.3
Baseband n7100xxuena1
Got this OTA from the time it was released..
The problem is i have tried flashing recovery both cwm and twrp but it doesnt seem to get installed, i flashed 6 times already by odin. And whenever i boot my fone to recovery I still get the stock recovery from samsung. Do you have any idea whether the phone is locked and prohibited from any flashing?
I am trying to root and install custom rom but still no lock. I am really stuck.
I already have installed a custom rom to sghi747 and i9305 before so im not a newbie to most procedures.
Can anyone help / enlighten me?
SOLVED guys
1. downloaded and installed stock from for n7100 (singapore) via Odin
2. flash Philz Recovery
3. Flash Mr.Luong custom rom.
