I have a Sony Xperia ZL C6502 that when I flashed it to 10.4.1.B.0.101 it still asks to update to 10.4.1.B.0.101. At this time I reverted it back to 10.4.B.0.569 but the push notification REALLY bothers me. I have tried using System Tuner and Autorun Manager to get it to go away. Is there anything for the C6502 that I could use, if it comes with root and XZDR, that would be awesome, but not necessarily required as I can install those both myself if need be.
Big thanks!

So, I update my phone (Xperia PLAY) from Android 2.3.4, 4.0.A.2.368 to Android 2.3.4, 4.0.2.A.0.42 on my phone, when there was notification for updates. It downloaded updates and turn the screen on with some kind of package. It loaded in little time. And when I tried turn on phone there is only vibration and green flash on power button. What can I do? Plz help me, I have lost the warrant and I dont know is there any guarantee for my phone!
P.S: I've tried that repair thing in PC Companion and it says The phone contains modified software that cannot be updated.
Sorry for bad English.

Try Sony Ericsson Update Service - its a different software - google it or search for it on xda.
Did you have an unlocked bootloader?

try this
if you have a unlocked bootloader try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126354&highlight=fota
If this doesn't work try flashing stock rom with flashtool.
Thanks a lot!
I love u guys that some flashtool worked!
But I have now that 4.0.A.2.368 and I want some normal updateble version like 4.0.2.A.0.42 Not any modified version. Do u know where I can get one?
thanks really, I thought that my phone was broken. I broke my last phone (ZTE Blade) and I didn't want to break this one.
If you need .42 i have it saved on my pc. Pm me and i'll send it to you. If you want to be able to update over the air you need to lock your bootloader again.

Hi,
I am using Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S with Android 4.0.3 and my device is rooted and I have installed CWM.
Now I got an update (4.0.4) to my phone.
I am just wondering if I would be able to update my phone even though its rooted!!
Also, I would like to know that currently i have some mods like systemUI.apk and some other changes.
If I am able to update my phone, will these be replaced and get a default one as per the update of 4.0.4 or will my current mods be retained.
Kindly need your advice
Thanks
If it's only rooted then yes. If your bootloader's unlocked then no. And it will be a new install so you'll lose any mods(including root).
You can update. You will lose root and all the modifications that you made thus far.
yes you can
but if you has unlock your phone and you update it from pcc or seus it will brick
greetings ,
i have an Xperia s phone with the firmware 6.1.A.2.50 rooted with root many droids (bin4ry)
software update in my phone showed that there is new update available...
i downloaded the new update...but it always fails to update..
is it cuz it's rooted??
should I unroot my device so that i can update...???
im a bit confused :silly:
You can flash stock 6.1.A.2.50 again and then try to update, it should work then. Rooting actually doesn't affect update via PCC or SUS, as far as i know.
But yes if the bootloader is unlocked then you won't be able to update as well. So your device bootloader unlocked or locked?
One more thing you should remember the new update 0.55 is not easily rootable. The method which worked for 0.50 and 0.45 won't work on 0.55
Lastly the new update 0.55 doesn't bring anything special. I tried and then went back to 0.50 again. Still it's your call.
Sv: [Q] xperia s new firmware official update .55 problem
Funny thoug, that Sony claim to be open for external development and for eg. XDA, and at the same time Sony make an effort to secure that you can't root every time they release new firmware...

:good: thanks guys,im a newbie here..i dunno the answer your question...
i bought the new device and all i did is rooted via Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18...i dunno if it unlocks the bootlloader...
i rooted my device though it wasn't useful to me rather than before rooting cuz i dunno how to use the maximum before rooting..
i heard that the firmware is better for the RAM and i have a wireless problem (it freezes n dysfunction)..
thanks a lot again auni
anyway i fixed it ma self....just used the stupid pc companion and it worked though it took some time to download the update..
thanx XDA
Hi guys,
I am new to android coming from apple. I am looking to update my xperia zl 4.1.2 build number 10.1.a.1.395 to android 4.2. I have never flashed the phone before but i do however rooted my phone using i believe doomlords mod. I have also an issue with the in ear peice when calling i notice the volume is extremely low when i am making calls. If someone would let me know the steps to fix this issue and the update that would be great. As far as i know i need flashtools and the 4.2 android update? Just want to know which update i would need. My phone is originally a rogers xperia zl but its been unlocked to use any carrier. The bootloader is also locked on this phone.
Thank!
Update your phone over the air. (settings, about phone, software update) and use doomlords tool to root again.

Trying to get the update from OTA wont work in your case since you have never flashed the phone and are probably on the stock Roger's firmware meaning you wont see an update available until Rogers pushes their 4.2.2 update with their own bloatware which may take a while.
Just flash the latest FTF firmware C6506_10.3.A.0.423_Unbranded.ftf (stock Sony firmware) found on here on XDA and flash it with Flashtool. Then use doomlord's method to gain root. Very easy stuff... Dont wait for Rogers to update unless you want to wait forever... Carriers are usually slow to update their stuff.
My xperia zl, running android 4.4.2 kitkat indian update using ftf file, which is rooted using towelroot apk, i had installed supersu and busybox latest version, just now only I had connect my xperia zl to pc, then in sony pc companion my xperia zl had'nt recognized as usaul because my cell is rooted, there just written xperia device, but it had given me update to cell, even it had'nt given me the update build no, just update, during the downloading process it had said that to remove the cell, as i had disconnect it from my pc, but the update is downloading now, so is it would be harmfull to my xperia zl or I should upgrade my xperia zl ?

Hi bro, i am in same situation like u, Towelroot rooted & Unlocked bootloader , running on 4.4.2. I too got a update in pc companion without any build version, but unlike you my phone gets properly detected in pc companion in the first place. If you decide to go ahead with the update, relock your bootloader first or else after updating you phone will go into a bootloop.
