I'm wondering if there's a practical way, or any at all to change the name of an app in the app drawer (not the home screen). I tried to edit the Manifest.xml file but the string I was looking for wasn't in there. Thanks.
Juste use Nova Launcher or KKLauncher...

As I stated, launchers only allow you to change the shortcut name (not the app in the drawer).
How about hiding app in launcher, and creating a folder with the app renamed to whatever you want?
Apart from using the launcher, the only other way I could think of would be to decompile the apk with apktool and then you can edit the app name string. It's inside /res/value/string.xml

Also, I'm using kklauncher and it does allow me to change the app name in app drawer

Thanks, this is what I ended up doing, decompiling and editing it. Works great

Hi all, I am running CM 10.1 (4.2.1) with Nova Launcher. I was wondering is there a way to change the lock screen background? instead of it showing my desktop wallpaper.
Thanks!
I don't think so..
I can on AOKP with that enabled (self promotion) like mine seriously though, some have it just have to dig around

Am i the only one who notices the bad transition lag from pressing app drawer while viewing blinkfeed? It happens when you install transparent app drawer. It happening now that I installed Dark Theme. I know someone else has to notice this, i've seen it do this on multiple phones, its very obvious when pressing app drawer and viewing blinkfeed with transparent app drawer installed.
--This is not a Dark Theme specific Issue this is a Transparent app drawer issue. I am 100% certain this is an issue and not just my specific phone, i've seen 3 different phones do this with the same scenario. And after removing transparent app drawer it corrects itself.
It may be in how app drawer was achieved, i have had trans app drawer since i rooted the htc one on sprint(and on the htc lte sense 5 port) and i have no lag when going from blinkfeed to app drawer and back

I second that ... No lag at all , make sure you're using the right tools and that the setup of them is good
I also notice that laggyness when using a Theme with transparent app drawer. (using TrickDroid)
Got my OG Pro and i love it. I know u can press and hold an icon and click the purple box to change the icon, but is there a way to install a icon pack so you could select from those? Or is there a way to get the icons in the gallery so u could just select them?
I don't think its possible.

Go to the play store. There are different options for using other than stock icons even if it boils down to just using a different launcher.

You could always get elesbb's APK Tool GUI to decompile an icon pack .apk from the Play Store. After you decompile you'll have a few folders with all of the icon .png files for the icons. You can pull them from there and stick them on your SD card to select them from your gallery. It'd be a bit of leg work, but it might be worth it to you.
Is there an app/tweak where i can customize the transition animations? I am talking about closing and opening apps.

Try settings in 'Settings>>Developer Mode' || under drawing tab.
transition animations comes from your Launcher. Go into your launcher settings and depending which one, settings for opening apps can be in different locations. Usually under App Drawer.

Go Launcher EX or Next launcher is best for their animation effects.

Yeah, it only has some basic animations.
This app was before we had xposed and other stuff and we had to edit the animations manually in framework.
And about launcher, there are few.
I personally recommend ADW launcher EX, it has some nice animations and a lot of options.
If You want also a classic one but few 3d effects then Next Launcher.
And finally, if You want some beautiful 3d animations then You should take a look at tsf shell, especially the newest version. However it's not a usual launcher.
Is there a way to make the text bubbles in the stock TW messaging app transparent? Wamam doesn't have the option. Wasn't sure how to go about this.
Short of decompiling messaging apk and theming it through xmls? Nope

You could try an alternative MMS app, I use textra and is awesome.
