Hi guys, I have a E975 OG and I now cannot start my phone so I come here to ask for some help. The phone will go into a black screen (The screen is on but it just shows nothing) and wouldn't continue to boot after the LG logo(not the animated one), the phone is perfectly normal when it is off(showing the battery charging icon when connected to power), tried Factory Hard Reset but no use. KDZ software update will get extraction error. Basically the phone can just charge and seems that cannot to my computer. Anyone can help please?

Yesterday I was backing up my phone through the third party recover screen when my phone shut off during the recover (I think I may have hit the power button?). Now when I try to start the phone when it's not plugged in I don't get any response from the phone. I can get to the fast boot screen but selecting recover mode just leads to a grey screen that says google on it for a second then the screen shuts off. I tried the LGNPST recovery method but the phone gets stuck in a loop at 67% where it shows the LG logo, the screen shuts off for a moment then back to the LG logo again. I've tried all the methods I can get my hands on, does anyone have any alternatives?
I thought I'd update this so that people that google their symptoms and come here have an answer.
I can't link to the youtube video but its called "Disconnect Battery LG Optimus G Sprint"
Pulling the battery fixed everything after installing the stock rom from LGNPST
Thanks to the folks in the IRC for help!
Problem SOLVED!
Thank you all!
Hi ClarkOwen, would you care to share what happened and how to solve it? My Optimus G won't boot with red flashing led.
What rom are you using?
I tried to boot into safemode by turning on with power button + volume down button and holding it till it boot up then I uninstalled framework and gravity box as i think they are preventing my phone to boot up and then I rebooted my phone and it worked
What exactly did you do with your phone? What caused it not to boot up anymore?
There are senarios where you do get to restoer your phone using kdz but then it still wont boot up with red led blinking which basically means the battery needs to be hardware reset - taken out of the phone which would require you to open up your phone which is difficult. Thats why I need to know first what happened which prevents your phone to boot up.

Thanks for your reply. I run stock ROM and was preparing for flashing with CM11. I installed ROM Manager and updated my clockmodwork recovery. Then I boot to recovery when this disaster began. The phone just wont boot.
I followed the instruction found in this forum to unbrick using kdz updater and LGNPST and yes I needed to disconnect the battery first. Open up the battery cover was difficult but I managed to to it. After numerous attempts I managed to complete the step for both kdz updater and LGNPST but that still wouldn't boot the phone. Not even into recovery. I could get to the download mode though.
The last successful attempt with KDZ updater (successful means completed steps) has caused my phone totally dead. Now it won't respond in anyway. No flashing led, nothing. I suspect the battery could be dead.
Is it true that we can't charge the battery when the phone is (soft)-bricked?
Anyone knows how to charge LG Optimus G battery in the case of emergency? Ie. not through the phone? I read post about charging using stripped-out USB cable but I don't know where is the +/- of the battery.
The phone is showing black screen after i flashed exitrecovery.zip file since i got stuck into a recovery bootloop and right after when i pressed reboot button in twrp phone died. Have i got the phone hard bricked?? :crying:
What i have tried so far is pressing various keys combination and nothing is happening, tried to get into download mode but right after putting the usb cable connected with pc into phone it gives a notification sound but doesn't shows anything on phone screen :crying:
I also tried to flash the stock rom with lg flash tool 2014 with kdz file but it reaches to a point in the beginning and it gives an error message that the "phone isnt connected pull out the cable and retry" and after pressing retry few times it gets stuck at 60%
Please help, is there a way to get out of this :crying:
When something similar happened to my Galaxy S4, I charged it to 100% first. Then I tried flashing the stock image back to it twice. The first time did not seem as if it completed. Second time was the charm. I know the phones are different but the symptoms are identical.

Hi i feel i have messed up something with my US Cellular Lg G3
something similar had happened in the past as well on couple of occasions ( but due to diff reasons ) but i could revive the phone but i dunno what happened
TODAY I tried to reboot in recovery (( as i wanted to wipe data and factory reset it ) but instead there was blank screen and a flashing red and blue LED on the phone ( i guess the recovery TWRP was wiped somehow )
so i pulled battery and booted the phone , went to autorec app ( which i had installed long back and had used earlier as well to install TWRP ) and flashed the TWRP it said all went well , so i was like great
i again tried to reboot in recovery and now nothing , no power
no led
nothing
yes when i remove battery and plug it in with wall charger it shows the battery sign on screen with a question mark ,but as soon as i insert battery the screen goes blank despite it being plugged
No download mode , no recovery no led light
this happened before as well 3 to 4 times once i had flashed something , once i saw that the led was flashing on it own wiithout any notification and once due to some error in xposed
every time i used to leave phone and battery alone , the plug the phone in pc or charger and insert battery and do that a few times and ultimately i could get it to boot , this time nothing
plz help
Same here, without battery there is a question mark and it goes black screen as soon as I replace it. I don't know if it has to do with battery charge level, I suspect so
Can anyone please help

After Flashing Autorec to get TWRP, i have had the same issue.
No Power, No LED, Black Screen, and no recognize on the PC. If you have Warranty you can try to send it to LG Service for assistance,. They will swap the rf - Board, i have done this and LG replaced the Mainboard for free.
If you have no Warranty there is a Solution here in XDA, Just look for the Threat Unbrick the LG G3
For this Solution you need to disassembly your LG G3 as shown here http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359
Can this work on us cellular LG g3 as well. ? It's model number is us900

Hey everyone,
This is an LG G3 D855, initially running on stock ROM, which shows me a completely unknown state of bricking. From what I gather, its a kernel crash.
1) Normal power button boot results in bootloop, where it restarts after a few seconds of showing the LG logo/splash screen.
2) When restarted in recovery mode, the phone is able to boot into it, shows the factory reset screen and when I confirm the reset, reboots the phone into bootloop.
3) When I hold the volume down key and connect the USB cable to boot into download mode, it temporarily shows the download mode logo and then reboots into bootloop.
4) When connected to a charger, it shows the inital battery charging screen and then reboots into bootloop.
5) When I remove the battery and connect it to a windows PC, the device is not recognized by LG PC Suite or the device manager, even after installing the drivers for the phone.
Please suggest me possible ways to think about debugging this issue. I'll be uploading the videos for each of the point shortly.
Thank you.

Try a new battery. G3 batteries die without warning sometimes and will put you into a bootloop once they fail.
If you truly were bricked you wouldn't get, albeit briefly, download mode or the factory reset screen and the phone would show up as a qualcomm or some other device on your pc.
As far as #5 goes, you need a functioning battery to get into download mode on the G3; some other devices - samsung I think - will allow you to load software without a battery but for us that is not the case.
Hopefully a new battery sorts you out.
Good luck :good:
*Anker makes a decent replacement if you can't find an original LG battery.

That might just do it. I think the battery might have drained out due to broken charging port or some other reason and then died out. For now, I have an external charger on the way. I'll be trying that, and if not, the next step I'll try is to replace the battery itself.
Will keep updating.
Update: It was a battery fault. I got a new one off Ebay to test it and it has been working fine until now. Will probably change it for an extended battery later.
