Yesterday I was backing up my phone through the third party recover screen when my phone shut off during the recover (I think I may have hit the power button?). Now when I try to start the phone when it's not plugged in I don't get any response from the phone. I can get to the fast boot screen but selecting recover mode just leads to a grey screen that says google on it for a second then the screen shuts off. I tried the LGNPST recovery method but the phone gets stuck in a loop at 67% where it shows the LG logo, the screen shuts off for a moment then back to the LG logo again. I've tried all the methods I can get my hands on, does anyone have any alternatives?
I thought I'd update this so that people that google their symptoms and come here have an answer.
I can't link to the youtube video but its called "Disconnect Battery LG Optimus G Sprint"
Pulling the battery fixed everything after installing the stock rom from LGNPST
Thanks to the folks in the IRC for help!

Hello everyone
So about a week ago I restarted my phone and all of the sudden after the Verizon logo appeared it shut down on me. I didn't know what was wrong so I went into TWRP recovery to erase the internal memory and start from scratch but that didn't work either. After the Verizon logo pops up it'll shut down. I can't restart it without taking out the battery. I tried to go into download mode and install the original software but that didn't work either. It'll go into download mode but then again it shuts off. The phone shows up as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in the drivers and not LG. I'm guessing it's soft bricked but since it keeps shutting down after boot I have no idea what to do.
Hey Any solution yet? I've had a crap ton of problems with my G3 and just today, it froze, shut down and won't tun on without removing and re-inserting the battery...but the thing is after it the lg logo pops up for about 8 seconds, it shuts down. I can't even get into recovery mode.

Late reply but I can't connect to either wifi or data. The phone literally gets to the verizon screen then shuts off. I tried to reinstall the firmware but that doesn't even work since the phone can't stay booted for longer than 10 seconds. It won't show up in my computer.
Change the battery buy a new one guys
I have exactly the same problem. I had my LG G3 for over a year, sometimes it shut off after heavy use but yesterday it just started shutting off during boot, it won't pass the LG logo screen.
I tried putting 2 other perfectly working batteries (tested with other phone) and it didn't work.
Now it simply won't turn on completely!
we have to take it to LG about this, I didn't expect to have a high-end phone die just after the warranty expires just like that!
if anyone has a solution or a possible cause to this problem I would highly appreciate it.
Hello to all of you who's reading, I ask for help from all of the skillful and knowledgeable folk in this wonderful community, I have a LG G4 phone that ran on CM.13, everything was running fine up until two days ago, phone just froze for a minute, nothing was responding, it crashed and LG logo came on, attempting to power on, but 10-15 seconds later it goes blank and lights up LG logo again... Now I've tried getting into TWRP but factory data reset msg comes up, after hitting yes and yes screen lingers frozen for another half a minute until LG logo shows up. I can get into download mode and tried flashing a stock image with LG Flash Tool 2014, it looked like it went through successfully but ends up doing the same thing... loops without ceasing. Do any of you have any idea what is going on and how can I get it fixed? Thanks for reading!!
Hi,
Today while browsing my stock LG g4 (h815) suddenly rebooted. It showed the LG boot screen for a while but then ended up with a black screen. The power button does nothing. If I remove and insert the battery the power button works again, but I get the same result.
I can boot to (stock) recovery OK and if I connect it to a pc it shows 100% charge. I tried using recovery to reset everything but no change.
I am on holiday so can't easily send it in for repairs. Any ideas? I do have a Windows tablet pc with me with ADB on it.
Search "bootloop" in G4 forum.
Warranty is the only solution.
But this is not a boot loop? It seems to boot normally and then goes to a black screen, it doesn't reboot. I direct about the boot loop but from the videos I could find it looked like it kept booting.
I guess I was wrong trying to start it today it boot looped a few times before the black screen. Guess I will try disabling the big cores so that I will at least have a phone until I get home.
Hey! Check the bottom for TLDR.
I have had my G3 since they came out (have the 2GB, 16GB RAM version), and even got the G4, but remained with the G3 since it didn't have any issues with rooting and recoveries...
Anyways, I was talking to my brother on WhatsApp yesterday and ended up checking out my Hangouts messages at the same time. I believe I accidentally hit the camera feature on Hangouts, and then everything froze. I could still talk to my brother, but I could not get to the home screen or even change from looking at Hangouts. I turned off the screen in hopes that I could get back in, but when I turned the screen back on, I could not log into the phone (I do not have a pin or password, it has no lock at all).
After a few more minutes talking to my brother, it suddenly shut off. When I tried to turn it on it went into a bootloop where the front light changes different colors, and the LG logo continues to show that shine going around the logo.
I was able to get into download mode and went ahead and tried to flash a KDZ as per instructions (I have done this in the past). The install would complete and the phone would give the prompt about updating all the apps. Once that was done, it would show the LG logo and again for about ten minutes. Afterwards, it would get stuck in updating all the apps again and performing the same process...
I also tried using the LG PC Suite and trying to "Restore upgrade errors", but every time I would click that option, I would get a Windows error that something happened and close out the program (it never recognized the phone). I then used the LG Mobile Support Tool, which allowed me to perform an update for the firmware. It too completed, but then went back into the process of updating apps, showing the LG logo, then looping.
The final thing I tried was doing a Factory Reset. I was able to get to the area, and when selecting yes, it immediately went to the LG logo and "Life's Good" sign, which it would never get passed. This is also what happens when I try to turn on the phone and wait.
I contacted LG, which was pointless, as I expected. They wanted me to go to a local repair shop, which is of no use to me if they can only perform the same things I have done.
TLDR: My phone can get into download mode and the Factory Reset area, but flashing stock firmware, or performing the Factory Reset, still leads me into one of two bootloop situations. LG PC Suite and LG Mobile Support Tool seem to be of no use.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there anything I can try that I haven't?
Thanks in advance!

I had the same issue about two weeks ago...tried everything with no success.....
I send my device to LG reparation center...a week ago
Still waiting for an answer...
Probably battery powering issue or motherboard.....
Have u tried LG Up?

Well my G4 (VS986) has been running ok on 13b rooted since december 2015, and today it suddenly died, it was on my desk and when I tried to use it the screen was black and it won't turn on, something like this had happen before but I usually just remove the battery and voila it had it working again. But not this time.
Now It only goes to the LG screen and then it turns off again (but it doesn't bootloop) so I keep trying then I connected the phone to the charger and it tried to boot again and this time it went to a black screen saying Secure Booting Error and it was error code 1007 but it went off again.
Then I tried to access recovery mode and it can access and be there for 40 min and it wont turn off, however I can't put it on download mode alway when is connected to the PC it says "qhsusb_bulk"
Anyone have any idea on what happen and how to fix it.
Thanks.
Nevermind.. Say hello to a new bootlooping LG G4 !!
