Here's a pic of the dock I use in my car. It's a Caseology CD Slot car dock to which I've glued the magnet out of a multi-bit screwdriver to. When the dock expands to fit the phone, the magnet moves upwards with the bracket and car mode is triggered. I've also put a Skip dot on the mount to unlock my phone whenever I press the power button. Other than being a bit bouncy (my car's not the smoothest one around) it works great.

For those impatient like me who cant wait for the Samsung Dock.
Just got this in the mail today, figured I would snap some shots (MyTouch Slide camera and it's blinding LED flash.). It is very sturdy plastic that does not flex under pressure. It has no slip rubber grip on the bottom, and on any place where the handset touches. It holds it well enough that you feel confident using the phone's touch screen while in the stand. It probably wont fit with a big case in portrait tho, its pretty close to the sides as it is.

Awesome Stand!
This is the near perfect desk stand since it allows for portrait, as well as landscape, viewing...and you can use the device while its on the stand.
One thing that would make it better is if it could charge a spare battery.
Good find, I think I'm going to pick one of these up for use on my desk at work.
before i buy this, does turn on the dock mode when i put it in for the captivate?

It has a magnet in it, and works for the DroidX dock mode, but no luck with the Captivate (personally, maybe I'm doing it wrong). Are there even desktop stands for the Captivate out yet that do that? I haven't even read anywhere yet that the Samsung desktop dock does that.
I'm looking for a very thin case that provides corner protection in case of a drop yet fits in the multimedia dock.
Any suggestions?

i dont think you'll ever find it... unless its vinyl sticker...
i had a 7"tab which i put some fancy sticker on the back.. now it can't fit into the keyboard dock... so forget the foolish dream.. and choose.. skin or dock..

(it's a keyboard on a pic, but I thing it should work with the dock as well). Here is the link to the case itself

Nice catch Tyoma_first. I have that case and keyboard. I just tested the connection and it works great. I would not have thought of doing this. Thanks for pointing it out.
Bob
I can't get that link to work. I have the samsung docking station and an otterbox cause i dropped my first gn2 so i need a hard case. but i bought this docking station for no reason if i cant use it.
casemate works and it plugs in the docking station but must not be in far enough because the pc wont see it nor will the device go into docking mode.
Some consider adb over bluetooth, but I still believe there are contacts on the watch.
Please look at this picture from the press event:

See the 5 contacts on the circuit board?
The circuit board is clearly on the wrong side because the vibration motor would not fit behind the display. It has to be rotated and the contacts would be on the backside.
Now look at the second plastic slice from the right, you can see the 5 holes on them too.
From the animation of the moto 360 site there is a nice render pic too:
I think you could remove the watchband on the lower side and there would be some contacts in the frontside of the plastic.
Could be you can just see the 5 holes and no metal.
Lets see what ifixit would show us.
Another picture from the leak before the event:
If you zoom in you can guess 5 darker dots at the same spot as on the other pics.
so adb over usb? no access to its filesystem?
Looks like you can access the pogo pins by peeling back the FCC sticker:

ADB can be done over Bluetooth but if this does give USB access that would be great for Fastboot. Now all we need is someone to figure out if that is in fact what is going on and then fashion a way to reliably connect to it.
Looking for suggestions on a low profile, tight-fitting/clamp phone mount that will lay flat on the Moto-D mount pictured below.
But have screw holes on the back so it can be screwed to the Moto-D mount.
The Ram stalk mount type things won't work because they are too tall.
This is the Moto-D camera mount that goes onto the motorcycle. Then you put the camera or phone mount on top of it.

I want a mount that lays down flat on top of the gold colored mount.
Kind of like how the black box is in the pic below. Any ideas?
I'm going to give this one a try.

Does anyone have any experience with bike phone mounts? I've only seen Quad-Lock and Spigen Gearlock Stem Bike Phone Mount.
I have this one on my Pedego Element - https://pedegoelectricbikes.com/product/pedego-premium-phone-holder/
It holds my 9 securely as long as I take it out of my Spigen Tough Armor. With the case on, the phone wiggled loose and flew out twice before I just started taking it out of my case and it hasn't been a problem since.
I looked into Quad-Lock and a few others but I really don't want my phone mounted like that because I can't see it.
I have one from SP Connect.
Stuck the universal mount on a separate case so I don't have the bulge all the way.
Easy enough to swap the case when I'm going riding...
Also have one of those silicone universal wrap things which I keep in my cycling bag just in case. Also works well, but rattles a lot.
Best mobile holders are the one-hand touch that hold the device by all 4 angles and they close automatically the moment the device is touching the inside back of the holder.
