2k video recording possible? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hiya does anyone know if 2K video is possible on the m8 as we all know the camera on the m8 cannot support 4k recording due there's not enoungh pixels on it as minium of 8.3mpx camera is required.
However for 2k recording there is theoretically enough pixels to support this as i believe only 3.2 mpx camera is required.
As if this is possible could HTC theoretically release a update to enable this resolution in the future?

¿the limits of the video camera? ( recording )

¿how can we know the limits of the video camera?
I mean.. think for a moment defy have a 3630 processor, capable of HD recording.
the sensor of the camera What recording types can do?

[Q] One X camera frame rate issue !

I'm working on a project for my university, and I intended to use the One X as the main camera. The problem is, when I import the videos captured by the One X to After Effect, it says that the Frame Rate is only 14.237 ??
I saw many people complaining about the FPS issue, but not this bad. So what I want to ask is is this a hardware or software problem ? I'm using the Ordroid rom and stock Camera app.
If it's a software problem, are there any apps that you would suggest ?
Thank you !
Getting solid 23fps @ 1080p with android 4.2 stock camera. I think the stock 4.1 camera would perform quite similarly

Seems to be the same for me when I use Sony Vegas because the One X doesn't have a constant frame rate. Stock unmodified camera app should be filming in 24fps so try using 24fps as your export settings.

[Q] LCamera API support for this device

Apologies if this topic has been repeated, but this regards the new Camera API in Lollipop.
Having found this app for the N5 only, for now, utilising the new Camera API:
https://github.com/PkmX/lcamera
it allows the device to record video at the full camera resolution (just under 4K for the N5).
Now does this use of the API mean we could get this device's camera to record video at 2.2K or whatever the max resolution of the 5MP sensor is? Or does that LCamera project exploit API plus N5 specific hardware features we're not aware of?
I know a tablet camera is still silly but it would be decent to have 2K video recording abilities! Thanks for any feedback!

How to record 4k video ?

On iPhone 5s, even it doesn't support 4k recording officially, we can record 4k video by installing an app called "Vizzywig 4K". It captures full 4K resolution photos (3840 x 2160 pixels) at 24 photos per second while capturing an audio soundtrack separately. Is there any app similar on android?
You need a camera that officially supports 4k before you can record in 4k. I highly doubt this app can 'magically' allow a camera to record in 4k, it is mostly placebo. The zenfone 2 can't record in 4k as it's camera only supports 1080p Max.
You can try open camera.

This app is proven to be work, just did a Google search. http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/17/hands-on-with-the-1000-vizzywig-4k-app/
Also this app work by taking 24 photos in one second, so is it possible for our ZF2 to do so?

I have tried it, it can only record 1080p even the option for recording 4k is enabled
Perhaps what I am looking for is an camera app that can take 24 "3840 x 2160" photo in one second and than combine these photos with a sound recording to form a video.
No. You can't do it. Even if it did work, it would be very shaky because you are not considering the lack of image stabilization. The ZenFone 2's shutter speed is just too slow to capture 24, much less 15, photos per second.

Does anyone know to enable 1080p @60 fps ?

Hello, does anyone know if this is implemented in a ROM or if there's a mod available to enable 1080p 60fps recording ? I barely found out about this just before i decided to purchase the 10 and found it odd due to the fact that the M8 can do 1080p @60:rolleyes :roll eyes: . Is there a way a request can be made or something ?

I've looked into it the but HTC added some compilation the configuration for 60fps is the same for The HTC 10 Nexus 6p and 5X have it working on the nexus .
HTC Complications.
In Camera 2 Mode it could be accessed via high speed recording api but for some reason this causes strange green overlay flickering video is in 60fps but unusable so that's out.
Camera 1 mode using Qualcomms video-hfr parameter HTC seems to have substituted this with their own video-mode parameter in theory it should work but they messed with some switch where even if you select 60fps it tries to look for a 90fps stream but that's nothing that can't be fixed in ida.
I tried using video-mode param but didn't seem to take any effect I do not have a HTC 10 to do further tests to make matters worse HTC added log mask code in pretty much all the libs rendering logcat useless.
The logcat mask needs to be disabled somehow once that's done there maybe hope but as it is now no device and no logcat I can't do much about it.
There alternative is to get 60fps working at 4k that does not require video-hfr or high-speed recording it requires time and trial and error to find the correct register values currently the know reg configs give 40fps 1080p and 32-35fps 4k.

Was anyone able to achieve [email protected] video recoding with the stock camera app?
I always saw that a lot of phones I had before got some software mods that improved e.g. camera, or any other app, so why is it that HTC 10 cannot get Camera mod to include [email protected]?
Besides, 4k video IS recorded at 60fps, so I doubt it is not possible with 1080p...
Thank you everyone for explanations and answers

Anyone figure this out? I'm looking at the Pixel or the HTC 10. The pixel can record at 1080p 120FPS and it has the same CPU as the HTC 10
