Just stick with what we have. This phone is sadly dying.

Grakernel is awesome. The dev has put a lot of work in it and it provides awesome multibooting. Use trickster for speed and color adjustments and youre done.

Notification tray customization (ESP. colour)

Hi! I'd like to change the colour of my notification tray as it looks a bit dull as it is. Can this be done? My device isn't rooted. THANKS!

Until no custom rom you can do nothing.
You can try status bar + app but this is either workaround.
Sent from LG 2X using Tapatalk 2 Elite
You can change it but it requires a bit of hacking with the ui.

Custom roms have this. I'm using EOS and you can make it any color in the interface system options.

There is probably an image in SystemUI.apk in res/drawable-x-xdpi that is called notification_panel_bg.9.png you can change that then zipalign the apk

Doesn't this still require root access to edit that file? Modifying your OS is part of the benefit of rooting. I don't think there is any other way around it.

Camera Launcher

Hi! This simple app adds a launcher icon for the Camera application on Nexus 7 tablet. What's the main difference between my app and "MoDaCo Camera Launcher"? My app is translated to 50 languages when MoDaCo's isn't translated. The second difference is SDK version - I used Jelly Bean SDK when MoDaCo used old version (Gingerbread probably).
This is my second Nexus-7-only app. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Nice, thanks for this. Modaco's never worked on my N7 for some reason, but yours does. I guess the SDK version was what was giving me problems. Awesome work

You shouldn't need it. Cm10 already has the camera launcher.
On another note I seriously don't know why Google didn't enable this without a need for an app. Of course they also made chrome the default browser they've already made some questionable decisions.

CM10.1. Where is the launcher? I'm not seeing it.

Theming clock and lockscreen

Does anyone know how to or if it has already been done to change the color of the text without using a third party lockscreen? I have Widget locker but I like to use the system. As you can see in the screen shot it can be difficult to see the light text on the light back ground. I am on Cyanogen Mod 10 final. Any thoughts?

Use Aokp JBMS1. They have an option for that. That's why i prefer Aokp, lot more customizations.

Is there any way to do it without flashing an entirely new ROM? Is the AOKP as stable as CM10 stable version?
Aokp is very stable. I haven't ran CM10, so I can't compare. I would assume they run equally as smooth.

Swiftkey
Improves on the keyboard. Makes life and typing so much easier. Typing efficiency is enhanced greatly! One of the best investments since you will be using your phone's keyboard a heck of a lot.
Hmm, tough choice. My first choice probably would be Root Explorer. Can browse all files, edit protected files and move stuff around like files and folders.

Tablet Talk.
I use it on a daily basis to send messages instead of my phone directly.
+1 for SwiftKey - SO much better than stock keyboard.
I also use wallbase a lot, I used to have a hard time finding nice hd wallpapers for my phone now I have way too many.

Swiftkey is absolutely stellar. Its predictive abilities paired with how it learns your language makes it a must have. Additionally, the swiftkey swype beta adds gesture based typing if that is your preference.

swype beta has more languages its faster to use (my opinion)
Register here and they will send you a installer link
http://beta.swype.com/android/create/
I would definitely recommend getting Swype, it's changed the way I type on touch screens with gesture typing. The biggest draw back for swype is the way it gets distributed and the non-existent advertising.
Swiftkey flow might not be as amazing to everyone if Swype was available on the Play Store since day 1.
Hyped music - like spotify but free and you can make streaming playlists. Also Facebook contact sync - pretty self explanatory but also has high def pictures which is very nice.

Is it possible to get the Touchwiz gallery app?

I am currently running RootBox as my daily driver. Stock Android is truly amazing, only thing I missed from Touchwiz was the native gif support for the gallery. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the gallery app? Or a really good alternative to the native gallery app with gif support?
Thanks a bunch!

Well bad news is, Since Rootbox is AOSP/CM based, the Gallery App from Touchwiz will never run properly on it. I am looking for other Gallery Apps that do have native gif support.
I cant seem to find anything. That would be something awesome for a developer to create.
