Nopes it depends on Service center they will check u r mobile.... Before taking it to the service center reset the flash counter using triangle away app and flash Official firmware and do a hard reset so that no traces of root exist..

HI,
remove the battery and push the power button for 30s (or so). Put the battery back on and power the phone. Let me know if it works.
Pierre.
Is the red led glowing ?
Which rom were you on before this happened ?

Rooting isn't a factor related to sds bug.
It is advised not to try anything and return it to service center.

Thank you all at first for your reply.
I heard in a service center that it can be flashed throw rifff and in this way the booting issue should be resolved.
Has anyone heard about this, and if it can be true how much safe is it?
Thank you again

Hi
I asked about my cell phone but they says that all factory unlocked samsund are not in warranty, i choose not to pay a warranty a the website where i bought it because it was 60 euro. So now i am stucked, and the problem is that i don't live in the us, so i can't go in a service center because there are not service centers in my country. But i noticed something, i tried to use usb jig tag and the phone went on download mode but it keeps flashing the android image and when i remove the usb it riturns in samsung logo, keeps boot loping.
Is there any help, please?
Thank you

Riff jtag doesn't say on it's website but I think I saw a video related to n7100.
Maybe using jtag with sboot.bin will help...

@OP
It was spontaneous and i don't believe anyone can have corrupt bootloader without doing any thing.
I put it to SDS category instead.

Can you attach image of download mode?
It happened to yesterday and even after trying countless times factory reset/wiped data and flashing Rom I still got stuck in a bootloop. So I went into recovery cwm and formatted system, data, etc and then refreshed the Rom and it worked. However my imei number was then changed to a generic one and I had to restore efs. Lucky I had a backup of it on my pc at all times.

What country is my Note II?

This is going to sound like a really stupid question, but I am in the USA, I ordered a Note 2, N7100 off ebay. The seller was also in the US. How do I find out what country's firmwire I have? And if I want to flash the stock ROM of another country via kies, is that possible?
Dial *#1234# and come back with what you get.

If you follow this guide, you can download the right rom for your device
Your rom is one of from Argentina /Chile /Panama /Uruguay or Trinidad
But not necessary you have to flash from same
Look first line on my signature and flash any of it from country you like

The reason this question came up is because I have 4.1.1
And the emmc checker says that I have the chip that's vulnerable.
I didn't want to update to 4.1.2 initially because of people's reports of bad battery life. That's the primary reason I got this phone, for it's battery life.
But now reading about SDS, is making me think I shouldn't take the risk. So I was asking so I know how to update it (as I ignored the update notification on the phone, and now it's saying I'm up to date, which I'm not obviously).
Dont take the risk just find the latest dma6 rom and flash it as I was on the same bOat and I just flashed it. Evantually they will sort the battery life issues as I think its a small price to pay against to having a bricked phone if you dont have a valid local warranty as most international phones dont come with one .

It is the latest official 4.1.2 for note 2 I used the one for Turkey . You ll find Dr. Ketans thread with all the firmwares or get it from sammobile. Dma6 is not that bad. I had an amazing battery life with my pre ll7 4.1.1 rom but since started with dma6 it is still good. I rather safe to be than sorry and yes if you were to ask me it is shambells FOR samsung to release an ill hardware on such expensive piece. Considering you can get a very decent laptop for the same if not less money anyhow thats my two pence.

Try calling samsung directly. They won't swap your phone instead will fix it. Still better than nothing.

Cheaper then the warranty replacement fee t mobile charges
Im going to return it back to stock for sure. What ive been thinking was just taking it to the tmobile store directly, and from there maybe they can make the replace order. Thats what my sister did last time with her htc one s. Im going to try that first and if dont work im just gonna call Samsung.

Don't forget triangle away if you've tripped your flash counter

Sounds like your device status has changed to modified, go in download mode and check the binary counter.
If its "Yes" then use triangle away to reset the counter, and then odin back to stock.

So you actually think that they knew it was rooted based on a phone call someone else made?
Odin to stock triangle away then take to store

My wifes old vibrant was rooted and the speaker went out on it, took it too tmobile and they sent me a free replacement.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Only reason they knew is due to not using triangle away.
Has nothing to do with visiting the xda forums. It would be bad businesses if they did that and unacceptable.
Many people here are not rooted who visit these forums.

What about mobile odin? I used it and flashed the version I was with mobile odin and it returned me back to stock even when I was rooted and running JM11. It all said no no and official. And normal status.

[Q] Note II GT-N7100 International won't boot even to Logo screen

Hello everyone.
I've had my Note II since October when it was released and sold on Amazon.com. I got a French phone
Anyways, I've rooted it and installed custom ROM on it (HD Rom).
After a phone call yesterday, we put the phone on the table and it just won't boot at all. I can't even get it to boot to the logo screen. I've called Samsung US and they won't honor this "French" phone since the IMEI is not in their system, so be careful next time you buy an unlocked phone that's not sold primarily for US customers.
The issue I am having now is that I don't know what to do. I've read and research the forums but I am really lost. Any help would be appreciated.
Here is the good news: I buy everything from Amazon and they're going to refund me but maybe a partial refund but the phone is full of personal stuff. I want to at least get it back to work so I don't have to return it to them. My privacy is more important than the refund.
Please help!
Thank you

Yes. I won't boot at all even to the N7100 screen.
Try joining the n7100 sds repair group. Maybe it's just a emmc corrupt which should be repairable with jtag as well.
Other than that if it can't boot even to n7100 screen then I could hardly think I of any way to extract the data.

Not quite sure what you're asking but I think you're asking where to send non-USA phones to for repair.
I believe Samsung in Singapore is the place but maybe others can confirm this ?
this is my 1st time heard about this
all i know is every service center can fix it as long u paid for the fix.

True but it defeats the point of warranty if one exists...
