Cannot undo encryption on KitKat based rom - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Ok, so I was on stock 4.3 rooted.
Installed resurrection rom, booted fine, google restored all my apps. everything was great. then I tried to install air watch mdm agent to get my work emails. it started the encruption process. I gave the password 1234 when it said "enter a password to decrypt device. encryption finished but Air watch mdm reported incompliant device so I could not get the work email setup. Now I tried to decrypt the device by doing factory reset from settings menu, it asks for my password, proceeds to reboot the phone, then it boots into team win recover and asks for my decrypt password but will not accept it. I cancel out, reboot using team win recovery reboot option and phone boots and asks for decrypt password, 1234, it takes it boots up but still says device is encrypted.
Since I can't get air watch mdm to work, I must go back to my stock using nandroid backup restore.
Do I need samsung recovery to decrypt? TWRP will not accept the password.
TWRP is 2.6.3.1
Baseband 1747UCUEMJB
How do I decrypt this phone now? please help.
Thanks in advance

Unable To Update After Encrypting (flo)

EDIT--Resolved via Sideload Method--
Has anyone run into issues upgrading encrypted devices? I've been using CM for a few years and decided to encrypt my tablet yesterday. Now when I attempt to update CM I am unable: when it reboots into Recovery it asks for the password to decrypt, I put it in but it fails to decrypt saying Password Failed.. When I reboot the tablet normally, I get into it fine with the same password (as usual). So I'm stuck on 0813 with no way to update unless I wipe the tablet and start over, which I hate to do, although I do have Titanium backups of everything and the tablet is nightly backed up via rsync to my desktop - so I won't lose data, it would just be a hassle..

Device stuck in "Encryption Unsuccesful" screen

I was having issues with wifi after 3.2.1 upgrade. So i went for a downgrade to 3.1.2 and then to check if it worked well there. Am using TWRP multirom. I wiped system, data and dalvik and flashed the 3.1.2 official rom. After the phone booted, it showed that the device encryption was unsuccessful and to go for a reset.
When i clicked reset, it went to multirom TWRP which asked for a password to decrypt the phone. By googling i found that the password was "default_password". Then I enter it, TWRP proceeds for decryption and does it successfully (although data doesnot get mounted). But once the phone boots I again get the same " encryption unsuccessful" message.
Please help. It is my daily driver and have to leave for offfice....:crying:
Hey, I'm just here cause I'm researching multirom encryption which I know very little about just yet, but the last thread that came up in my google results mentioned something that might help you. The developer of multirom was explaining that you will always be asked twice for the encryption password, because it's needed once to decrypt and mount the kernel and then later it is needed again to decrypt and mount the data partition. Saving it in memory in between uses would be a security flaw that would make encryption useless. So my guess is you need to enter the password a second time to get data to mount.

Password - TWRP & Start Android?

I recently used sideload (TWRP) to install a custom ROM (RR (LOS)) on my OnePlus 3
I did not set up a PIN / fingerprint
Rebooted into recovery since install in order to perform TWRP backup
Rebooted into recovery today to flash something different and TWRP is asking me for a password (have no idea what changed)
Since I do not know password, I tried to mount system and it apparently will not mount
Rebooted Android and now asking for password
The bootloader appears to be unlocked (checked in fastboot to be sure)
Wiped Data in Fastboot and have a phone again. So, let's change the question...why or how did this happen?
Was it because I sideloaded the ROM (never did it before and wanted to try it lol)? Or...?

I unlocked my bootloader installed twrp and stuck

i jsut unlocked my bootloader and flashed twrp i had got the message to set decrypt password but i hit cancel now i cant seem to get my storages to mount nor can i get the option to insert password again please help.. ??....
also i had not set up an encryption password just had a regular 4 digit password ...... what should i use as my decrypt password?
my phone also keeps going into recovery mode how to fix

Magisk and encryption

I installed RessurectionRemix and i followed the process i will describe now:
I was on 8.7.5 developer.
Flash MIUI from Mi Flash Tool just click on option Clean All, Let it flash and boot up, after it boots reboot to fastboot since you did only clean all it'll not relock BL.
Then flash twrp in fastboot. Go to wipe> advance> select everything (data, system, cache, dalvik, internal, vendor) everything. And swipe right.
Now keep in mind do not touch the format data option at all.
Now go to reboot menu and reboot to recovery after it boots back to recovery transfer the ROM and other files, flash and reboot system and you'll have 100% encrypted device.
Flash the rom
Flash gapps
After that process everything worked fine and the phone was encrypted. Almost instantly (5-10secs) after I power the phone it asked for password.
But i installed magisk through TWRP and since then it asks for password when the phone boots completely and asks the password just to unlock the lockscreen.
Inside settings it says phone is encrypted but my guess is, that it isn't encrypted.
How can i fix that? What is wrong in the process i followed? What is the correct process?
Thank you!
I guess those steps were for lineage os. For others, you've to format data to disable encryption.
i want to have encryption enabled.
I dont want encryption disabled.
What are you asking exactly?
If you go to
Settings - Security & Privacy - Encryption & Credentials - Under Encryption
Are you been offered the choice to encrypt phone? If your not then it is already encrypted.
Is it requesting a password to boot and also to unlock the device?
If you need password to boot, then you selected that as an option when setting up password.
Can be removed by changing your password to swipe/none and setup your password again.
If TWRP, can not decrypt the device, make sure your using the latest.
Why didn't you post your query in RR thread?

Click to collapse
I didnt post in RR because, i tried Aospextended and the same thing happened.
Thank you very much for the solution you gave!! I disabled screen lock,re-enable it with password and now it asks for passwoed on boot and on TWRP.
Thank you again!
