Can someone who had updated to the 4.4 bootloader tell me if touch driven recoveries working on your phone? I can't seem to get it to work after flashing several recoveries. I think it night be the bootloader but I don't know. Thanks.

Stock rooted ROM wont be able to get the latest ota?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I think you will need to be back on stock with a stock recovery. I tried flashing an ota a while ago when was stock rooted and it failed at 25% or somewhere in there

Yes and you need to be unrooted as well. You can use OTA Rootkeeper from the market to temp un-root, take OTA and the re-root.
I have the stock recovery, and I do have that app. I'll give it a go.

Where would one pick up just the stock recovery that they had in UVLH2?

If you have Mobile Odin you can load up the whole FW and then pick only recovery to flash.
Also Cybernook has a stock recovery a few threads down, but we are not sure which version it is.
Or if you can wait just a bit ill get it uploaded and get out the link.

Ah, yea forgot. Yea I still have the h2 image I used somewhere but forgot mobile Odin can flash just the recovery section of that.
Thanks!

The OTA isn't available to everyone yet. My phone is stock and not rooted and the OTA doesn't show up yet.

Same here. Haven't heard of anyone getting it yet.

we all know that we can flash roms from the i9505 forums by now, but i havent seen anything about flashing recoveries from their forums. is it safe? i saw philz touch recovery over there and it seems pretty awesome
Was wondering the same rging

bump, just need a yes or no
I tired it, but I couldn't get it to actually boot into recovery. Reverted back to CWM touch for now.
I sincerely apologize, I had previously tested an older version about a week ago. This older version was unable to boot into recovery.
Just tested with the latest release and it was able to install with no issues and boot into recovery. Looks like the newest version is indeed working on the T-Mobile variant. This was also confirmed in the i9505 thread by another T-Mobile user as well.

You're supposed to zip after you flush.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
Here are the files. Use the philz_touch_5.06.0-i9505.zip file. It's flashable from recovery, that's how I did it.
flashed and works wonderfully

Please don't tear me apart if this is the wrong thread...
So I'm currently running CM 10.0 and I'm trying to upgrade (through CWM) to 10.1.2 stable, but I am running into a status 7 error. I have done the following (In no particular order)
-made backup and wiped phone (including cache and dalvik cache)
-flashed the latest bootloader
-double checked MD5 sum and it was a match
-upgraded to most recent CWM
-tried fixing the assertions (as highonandroid suggests)
So what am I doing wrong?

Do a search for status 7
Because you've updated your cwm than your bootloader is out of date.
Brought up daily....

What do you mean do a search for status 7? I've searched all I can, those were all the solutions I came up with. First I updated CWM, then I fixed the assertions, then I redownloaded it for a clean start and then flashed the latest bootloader, and none of that worked.

Well this is the issue. Status 7 is
Out of date recovery
Out of date bootloader
So you have no other options really...
So you can see my concern and attempt at grasping at straws to help.

Ok understood. I guess I can give TWRP a shot and I'll keep you posted.

Only other thing I can think of is you flashed the modem not the bootloader
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Well my baseband changed when I flashed it (brace yourself for a potentially dumb question(s) ) so did I flash a bootloader or a modem? Also what's the difference?

You can have an old bootloader and have a newer modem.
Modem is your current baseband.
Here's an example. My bootloader is LK4 which is good for flashing and my modem (baseband) is MF1
Go in terminal emulator and type
su
getprop ro.bootloader
It'll tell you your bootloader if it's different than your baseband
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
And now is where I feel like an idiot...
The bootloader does not match my baseband, so since I am clearly incapable of flashing a new bootloader, can you provide me with a link that would help? Preferably one that could work with mobile Odin since access to a computer is limited for me right now

Ding ding ding we finally have a winner.
Chainfire doesn't recommend flashing a bootloader with mobile odin.
This thread has a recovery flashable bootloader you can use

I was using odin to flash cwm in order to root my s3 and instead of clicking pda I clicked bootloader and flashed it. Phone still works but in recovery it cannot mount the sdcard int or ext to root. How can I flash back to stock bootloader? I rooted before but by accident and in a rush I clicked bootloader and not pda. Please help thanks

Can I just flash stock rom via odin? Someone surely knows the answer.

There apparently was some sort of update by sprint that kept cwm recovery from mounting sdcard and internal memory. There is a fixed recovery method on xda somewhere that allowes access so I then flashed the stock rom

I have done bricking my phone similarly a couple of times but ODIN saved me. I had to install the stock recovery and stock ROM a couple of time repeatedly to get it back to working state. Then, installed the CWM recovery and rooted the phone.
Cwm only worked once for me. Next time I went to used it it would say could not mount sd card or even the int. After reading on here there was a post about it and someone modified it so it would mount and could be used. Saved my ass lol

So I originally had a the touch wiz with T-Mobile and then I installed the Google play edition and ran it through the recovery. But I don't really like how the Google play works so I tried to reformat it and then it bricked (just stayed on the Samsung galaxy s4 start up).. So I tried to put other things like eclipse touchwiz but that made my phone stuck on the start up and made it shut down with a 3 sec vibration.. Only the google play edition works so far... It also help fix the bricks. So please help me try to get it back to the original touch wiz!
If nothing seems to work by flashing, then the only solution is to use Odin to restore your phone back to factory settings.
