Tasker and Extreme Power Saving Mode - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way I can control and schedule Extreme Power Saving Mode from the automation app TASKER?

Try DU Battery Saver.

WOW
Where was I ... 1.5 million Stars and I never heard of this app ... Thanks mate.

Does DU Battery Saver give you access to Extreme Power saver through Tasker?
I would love to use Tasker to schedule the mode on and off.
Was thinking of using it as a "efficiency control", certain hours in the day the phone stays "phone", without all distractions =)
Thank you.

I don't believe there's any way to "easily" do that, but I believe there is a way. Possibly, you could launch the settings app in Tasker, and then use a script to automatically click the menu selections in order to enable it. I haven't used these methods myself, but I did watch this Youtube tutorial on it a little while back. Maybe it will be of some help.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NiOoSZz3oA
Edit: I should mention that it starts out with a lesson on voice activation, but it doesn't take long before he starts discussing the script process.
Edit 2: Just realized this is a month old thread. >:|

i have managed to do it on the M7 using llama . Also works with tasker
should be the same for m8 i beleive.
follow my guide here. U can a use llama tasker or other similar apps. If it supports linking to secure settings

Smart actions to SGS2

Hi all,
I would like to get the "Smart Actions" app (by Motorola) to my SGS2.
There is an option to run this app on my phone or a similar app?
Thanks ahead.
I believe Tasker might be your best bet. You can find it in the Market.

[Q] Looking for a Smart Screen Lock App

Hi there,
So I was looking for an app and done some searches but cant seem to see one out there. I`d thought I would post here as if there isnt one it could be a pet project for someone
Basically the app I am looking does this:
When on my local wifi network the screen lock is a simple pull down. However, when I venture outside it becomes a pattern/pin based lock screen.
So I wondered if there is an app out there that meets these prerequisites?
Thanks for reading!

Stop Auto Send

Hey All
Anyone know if there is a way to stop the auto sending of messages when they have been spoken to the watch...it gives you about 5 seconds to cancel before they send but I want to make the process completely manual
Thanks
No. If you buy Autowear Tasker plugin you can do that.
If you're familiar with Tasker for Android, Autowear is awesome. Unfortunately it has some issues with our sw3 including battery drain and shake gesture not working. But the latest beta has resolved that for me

You have to setup a profile / action in Tasker. Here's an example ready to import if you got the required plugins http://forum.joaoapps.com/index.php?threads/start-hangout-from-watch.129/
The developer has also released Touchless Chat but I haven't looked at it.

Thanks for that, I was hoping you might have meant he'd found a way of modding the Android Wear software to enable the autosend time to be changed...... I thought it unlikely!
I guess this is a change Google will introduce at some point, makes sense.

or at the very least give us longer to check what it translated... the 5 seconds it gives you is insanely short for long messages on a small screen.

Best Active Edge Settings

What are the best uses you guys have found for the squeeze feature? Settings I found useful are -
1) Skip track with a short squeeze and play previous track with a long squeeze.
2) Take a pic while the camera app is open.
Anything else that people have found useful, especially in daily use?
Ummm i didn't know we could use the squeeze feature to skip tracks, how does it work?
I only use it for Google Assistant that's it, i really didn't know we could use it for other things.

Google Assistant of course! U using 3rd party app?
Long squeeze to toggle the flashlight. Too bad I can't get mine (Pixel 2) to work consistently with the screen off.
I use it to enable/disable vibrate mode
The program in the link badger sent you is a awesome! I use double squeeze to turn on flashlight so far.

Does that have a delay to prevent Google Assistant from launching on the first squeeze?

Yup, double squeeze implements a minimum delay of 300ms. Long squeeze doesn't seem to affect single squeeze however.

Troubleshooting
1. App not getting lauched at boot by macro
Solution :- manually click app on every boot
Or I can provide solution by Tasker but then ppl don't like tasker
Yeah best thing about root is the charge disable capability.
I've been using the Advanced Charging Controller Magisk Module with the AccA frontend app to limit my charge which has been working flawlessly.
I'm curious if your app is a more streamlined version of that?

I hardly believe that setting up AccA on your phone requires more time than setting up yours. And once it has been set up, it does not require further configuration. So mu question would be that what actually makes your app better than AccA?

No, I don't need to set up any dj's in order for to limit my phone to 80% charge. I get what you are trying to do, but just because it is easier to set up does not mean it is necessarily better than AccA. Try to create something that has not already been done, for example the fingerprint reader only works, when you have already pressed the power button etc.. Since alot of custom roms would need that app.

You should improve your attitude. No one is saying that your app is bad, but creating "clones" of other apps is not going to convince users to stop using well known solutions that were created before your apps. All I am saying is that you should try to create something original, be calm and respectful with others and trust me, you will become a much better developer.
