Can't even get into fastboot, tried many times, only chance I seem to have is downgrade to ICS, then flash 'Dooms' rooted JB, reluctant to do this as it means re-installing everything again with Tatanium backup......... and all the settings again.
Must be;
- Fastboot drivers installed in your PC.
- Your device UL.
- Copied super user zip file of doomlord in your device.

Hi .....
Can't even fastboot, or, get to the screen (as I could in ICS) to install from internal memory. Tried everything I know, I'm not very experienced with these things I'm afraid.
I copied a rooted version of JB by 'Doom lord?' to my Xperia S, it being a ZIP file, even unzipped, it would install, or run, couldn't run it, neither could I flash it, so, I'm stuck!!!

[Q] Sony ericsson xperia arc

Hey Everyone
I'm new to the android world here.. and I've been attempting to get root access with my lt15a
however I am having several issues having rooting apps work
I've tried zroot, framaroot, flashtool, & Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31
all apps seen to run, but not root the device
my bootloader is unlock, I've set usb debugging, allow installation of non-market apps, mass storage mode (msc)
the phone is running android 4.0.4 kernel version 2.6.32.9-perf build # 4.1.B.0.587
******
on a side note.. I did successfully root my phone before updating to 4.0.4 without knowing it would lock my bootloader and lose my root
I have since paid to unlock the bootloader, however can not root the device again
can any guide me in the right direction..
thanks
-steve

Check the Xperia Tipo section of xda-developers, I am sure there is at least once custom kernel.
...
I've tried the -rooted, kingo android root, and still no success
I've also tried flashtool root and it fails
I noticed during using flashtool.. it says bootloader can not be officially unlocked.,. not sure if that means anything
when I checked the phone is service screen.. it says bootloader unlocked...
all rooting apps if tried .. get to a certain screen.. and seem to sit there and then show rooting failed...
can anyone provide the exact link to the ics kernel..
or what I can try ...
I still don't understand what is causing my issue here

Use Towelroot bro. It worked for me on my mobile with a locked bootloader (10.5.A.0.230). It also worked for when i was on 10.4.1.b.0.101 with unlocked bootloader. I am positive that it should work with locked bootloader tonce you root with towelroot app, download any root checker app from playstore to confirm the status :victory:

Download an apps called Towel Root
Then install it to your phone (Make sure to check Unknown Source in Developer Option)
Tap Make it Ra1n
Wait for a couple minute and done ! :good:
If you want root + installing custom recovery, just download XZDualRecovery by [NUT] (search it in this forum!) from your computer
Then double click the install.bat, and also don't forget to plug your phone to your computer and enable USB Debugging from Dev Option
After that, back to install.bat and type 3 and enter...
It will install towel root to your xperia and tap Make it Ra1n, and wait until it finished
If it help, press the Thanks button

[Q]/system r/w mount problem (ric)

I've rooted my z1c with locked bootloader and install a rom after wiped /system. But /system cannot be mounted as r/w. I've flashed dualrecovery again while it did not work.
Nothing is in /sys/kernel/security/sony_ric/ and /sbin/ric cannot be deleted after I executed /system/xbin/rickiller.sh
How can i solve it? Is is a problem caused by rom and which file is missing? Or will it be solved after unlocking bootloader and flash another kernel?
Please help.

You can't simply execute the script, it needs to be executed at boot before RIC is intialized. I advise you to flash stock rom with flashtool (for clean /system) then simply root with this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900 and install dualrecovery again. :good:

Thx. It works. It seems that installmount.sh in the new root tool enables the r/w permission.

10.5.1.A.0.292 ”could not install "

I have a.230 stock installed, rooted with towelroot and using supersu. I tried doing an unroot uninstall of supersu but it didn't help. Rom installs about 10% and then restarts saying it could not install. Anyone else having issues?
Download .ftf rom and flash by flashtool
I had the same issue using it on my Xperia Z C6603. It seems that maybe once you have root the install package aborts even though I have a locked bootloader.
