anyone else having the same problem? im not using it heavily, just texting; i have 6h 37m on it and i have currently at 15%. i have SetCPU at 800mhz and brightness is less than half. everything should be fine right?
another question, are the Kobridge Super Build.prop automatically on? or how do i turn them on. (if possible provide videos on how to do so.)
yes, i acknowledge the fact that i am a noob.
thanks.
3g
also 3g doesnt seem to be working, usually on calk's 3.0 gb rom it would be 40.0kB/s now its just horrible. average 3.0kB/s. yes it do have good signal.
Don't use setcpu, act you shouldn't use any CPU app right now. I have found them to keep the phone awake more often then not.

Well the build.prop, what do you mean. And Yes I have had the same issue with data, sometimes I have to reboot before I even see 1x, so I say its either Sprint, or the modem. We will also check to see if a missing file may be causing an issue.

Don't know what happened, my phone has been going strong with a the SuperGalaxy rom 1.7 with no problems. I recently updated to 1.8 and it ran fine for the past two days with no problems. Then after leaving the phone on the charger at work yesterday, the phone kept resetting randomly. I unplugged it, hard reset, flashed a different rom, everything, and it still keep resetting randomly. Not sure what the problem is, any suggestions?
Edit: I'm a dumbass, realized my cpu was under clocked to 800mhz, running smooth at 1400mhz now.
okay, i'm not a dumbass (maybe). Phone keeps resetting on its own randomly still but less frequently after I overclocked.
How is your battery condition? Like how old is it? Do you have and tweaks (kobridge or phakker scripts)
Cpusleep app? And you said it happens on a few ROMs, I would say it maybe a battery or hardware issue. Also, do you check the MD5 sums before you flash the different ROMs?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Battery condition is good, I actually have two oem batteries that I use daily and swap them when one dies.
I'm not running any tweaks currently, but when I flashed the roms recently its been through a nandroid backup of my previous working rom. But I'll try a clean install without a backup and see if that works. Thanks

Okay, just did a fresh clean install from recovery. The phone still resets, I've noticed if it's plugged in to a charger though instead of resetting it will just turn off and show me the battery charging screen.
Also, how do you check the MD5 sums? I always thought the phone recovery automatically checks this before it flashes a rom?

Are you using a stock battery charger? Is the charging cable damaged or loose? I had an issue with an after market charger making my phone freeze up before.
Not to my knowladge, but it never hurts to check it. I use md5sum app.

Okay, I flashed a totally different ROM and it seemed to have solved the problem for now. Most likely it was a ROM issue, which is kind of weird since it was using the same rom before without any issues, even when I did a recovery of it. Oh well, maybe it was the right combination of apps and crap. But so far right now, everything is good. Thanks for the help g_ding84!
What were you using to under/overclock? Setcpu specifically has been known to cause the exact issue you were having, namely random reboots, however I would not be shocked to find other overclocking utilities that could cause the same problem. Regardless I'd be willing to bet that whatever you were were using to adjust the clock speeds was the source of the issue as opposed to the ROM.

You may be right on the money with that. It could be causing script confliction. Between the ROM and the CPU app. But I do know that cpu app scripts will override the ROMs cpu scripts, but not all the time.

Does it reboot in download mode? If not..I would odin to stock and go from there see if that fixes things.
Update: still resetting. :crying:
Today its been resetting probably about once every few minutes to ten minutes. It's stupid, like the battery will say 60% and when it reboots on its own, the battery will be at like 10%. No idea what the issue may be, but I might try to see if it will reboot in download mode as some of you suggest and maybe try to flash a stock rom. It seems that when it does go in reboot crackhead mode it will do it even in recovery.
The power button will not be as functional during the crackhead reboot mode as well. I'll press it and nothing will happen, but the screen will come on itself (not sure if this is a delay or just the screen coming on by itself lol).
I'm not too worried about exchanging it as of now, since I'm in the market for a new phone, but would like to fix this issue so I can sell the phone; if not I'll just do the trade in thing with Sprint (even though I won't get as much).

We're lucky because all the custom kernels are really good for Note 2.
Personally I usually use either Perseus or RedPill, but Note2Core and NEAK are great too.
Best thing to do it back-up in recovery, download each kernel, and then use each one for a few days to see which one works best for you :good:

I'm presuming (being new) I'd nandriod back up prior, and flash in the usual way?
Do the kernels have to be build number specific? Or do most generic versions work?

Yeah, Nandroid back-up via recovery first, then just flash like any other zip.
You do need to flash the kernel that corresponds to your phone model, yes. So if you have N7100 only flash N7100 kernels. If you have N7105 then only flash N7105 kernels. Should be obvious which is which in each thread though.

You can use them just how they come if you like, no harm in doing that.
If you've got some time to test the best settings for your cpu, you can play around with undervolting to CPU for slightly more battery savings, though I can't say whether or not you'll actually notice these savings in day to day use.

I used to dabble with this but I think it's now got to the point where the kernel devs do such a good job anyway that I don't feel the need to tinker anymore. For example, I get over 2.5 days from a single charge using Perseus, that's with light/moderate use and WiFi / mobile data always on.

Might be the case, but the flicker is resolved for me flashing a 3rd party kernel. I was getting it really bad, like screen would go black and come back 10 times with in 2 seconds so it was nasty. Not sure why it was happening on stock and not custom...

I was introduced to Resurrection ROM when I flashed it to a friend's Oneplus One. I liked its accessible customization, so I tried to find a port for the Note 4. I did find one for the 910F here and tried to install it, but I ran into a device checker error. I edited the updater-script to let me flash it and it worked, except for cellular. The ROM said I had no SIM card.
I remembered having to flash a data fix when I had flashed Dr. Ketan's ROM, so I tried that data fix. It did nothing except make transitions laggy. I tried some of the other LouForgiveNo data fixes, but all either had no effect or had the same effect as the first one. (One patch had a bootloop issue, but it let me boot after a few tries.)
Is there any data fix I could try or something else I could do to get this ROM working fully on my phone? I really like it, but I can't use it without data.
If it helps, Baseband version is Unknown, /firmware-modem/image/ is empty, SIM is Unknown.
Sorry for not linking the data fixes I tried; there were quite a few and I don't have the time right now to add them. If you suggest one I have, I'll say so, and sorry in advance :/. (I'll try to edit them in a little later if I can.)
Did you try the h- vitamin kernel. It seems to work with most roms I have been trying. On reboot, it takes a few mins for service and data to stabilize. After 2 to 4 mins it works it self out.

I guess it's worth a shot. The problem is that the data fix is for TW ROMs. I think that's why it doesn't work.
Well if you find a fix and get it working. Give us a update. I wish more people could have posted. It seems our forums and roms are dying. Stinks because I just got my note 4 after seeing it had root and unlock bootloader after so long. I had a n2 and I got a Nexus 6 around Christmas.
