Is It Possible to Get Resurrection ROM working on the N910V? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was introduced to Resurrection ROM when I flashed it to a friend's Oneplus One. I liked its accessible customization, so I tried to find a port for the Note 4. I did find one for the 910F here and tried to install it, but I ran into a device checker error. I edited the updater-script to let me flash it and it worked, except for cellular. The ROM said I had no SIM card.
I remembered having to flash a data fix when I had flashed Dr. Ketan's ROM, so I tried that data fix. It did nothing except make transitions laggy. I tried some of the other LouForgiveNo data fixes, but all either had no effect or had the same effect as the first one. (One patch had a bootloop issue, but it let me boot after a few tries.)
Is there any data fix I could try or something else I could do to get this ROM working fully on my phone? I really like it, but I can't use it without data.
If it helps, Baseband version is Unknown, /firmware-modem/image/ is empty, SIM is Unknown.
Sorry for not linking the data fixes I tried; there were quite a few and I don't have the time right now to add them. If you suggest one I have, I'll say so, and sorry in advance :/. (I'll try to edit them in a little later if I can.)

Did you try the h- vitamin kernel. It seems to work with most roms I have been trying. On reboot, it takes a few mins for service and data to stabilize. After 2 to 4 mins it works it self out.

Hmm. That's a good idea. Do you know if there's a kernel I could try that supports DT2W and S2W though?

Unfortunately, the H-Vitamin kernel results in a bootloop.

Maximum Overdrive was just posted in our development forums.
Nameless and Dr Keaton's supposed to work on that kernel I believe. I got them downloaded due to a guy talking about them working.

I guess it's worth a shot. The problem is that the data fix is for TW ROMs. I think that's why it doesn't work.

Well if you find a fix and get it working. Give us a update. I wish more people could have posted. It seems our forums and roms are dying. Stinks because I just got my note 4 after seeing it had root and unlock bootloader after so long. I had a n2 and I got a Nexus 6 around Christmas. I missed my zerolemon battery and went searching to see if n4 got a fix. Maybe more will come out if MM ever hits vzw

Yes.

I think I'll just have to give up on this for now. Since MM is out, hsbadr's CM ROM is likely going to get WiFi calling.

Successfully converted M919 to i9505G with stock recovery

In case people here do not check the i9505 forums. I followed these steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2360346
to fix a soft bricked i9505g on my M919 Tmobile Galaxy S4. Everything worked perfectly even though odin/download mode had lots of errors showing on the s4's screen.
Google wallet activated, LTE, wifi. So far I cannot find anything wrong.
Partitions are still the same as the original phone so there should be no reason you cant use odin to return to stock.
I take no responsibility if you do this and something gets hosed but its working great for me. If you want stock google but dont want to deal with peoples custom roms this may be the way to go.
You my friend are a bloody reckless, and absolutely brilliant Sir! I might give this a try. Waiting for a bit more feedback, but well played! :highfive:

Someone on there did it with a i9505 and confirmed it working so i figured I might as well give it a shot. Especially since our phones are closer to the i9505g than the i9505 is.
Have you managed to get the radios and baseband flashed? I would be curious to see how it works

No, same baseband. Im not that brave.
So, flashing the modem.bin in Odin gives me an authentication failure. I just figured I would mention that. Attempted to flash it through the phone option.

It'll fail. Google OTA's have historically included bootloaders and modem updates. As a result, those won't be able to be flashed for the same reason they can't be flashed in Odin (sig mismatch).

Looks like im only getting LTE data and not HSPA. It connects to HSPA but no actual data transfers. Calls work fine though. Edge works fine as well
edit: restored phone back to stock using odin, everything working fine now.
Really dont know if its something i did or was something else that caused it.

For right now with the bootloader Knox issues, I'm sticking with 4.12 and using the the 4.3 MK7 radio. I've gone through them all and this
improved my signal and battery time significantly. More over, with this modem improvement, I've fallen in love again with my finely tuned
Jedi-x20 all over again. ptmr3, still my idol!!!
I also flashed the MK7 modem. Haven't really noticed a vast improvement..and it also didn't deliver some of my calls and went straight to vm. But hoping it makes a difference as its used more throughout the day. .
To all people having problems,
I personally had to flash the deodexed rom about 3 times before the problems got fixed. First time camera wasn't working but I read somewhere that when first on stock taker pictures and then update the kernel. Second it was super sluggish...barely moving. Third time everything worked fine and have yet to come across and problems.
Just remember to keep erasing cache and dalvik after every flash/step.

Man people, I'm sorry for all of you. I received it while using tweaked but could not flash it so I went back to stock image using Mobile odin and triangle away. After going complete stock I received the update again then went ahead and installed it using the stock recovery. I gave up root because I'm impatient and couldn't wait 24 hours until the rooted version came along and the only thing I miss is viper audio and cerebus. So I went the stock route and after it booted up, I signed in to my Google account and soon as the home screen came up I did a factory rest and haven't had 1 hiccup. The phone is fast as hell, the battery is about the same, my 4glte even seems faster than before when browsing using the stock browser, not chrome. The keyboard is great now as well as camera, and nothing bets the apps to sd. So in conclusion do a factory rest and forget about root IF you want all to run flawless. I'm sure there will be a way to regain root again. Happy flashing.......stock style.

GPS lock issues anyone?

So just curious...I know there are folks out there with GPS lock issues and the number of ways to fix it... But they don't exactly pertain to me. Not sure if anyone else sees exactly this so here goes:
I can't get a lock on stock roms. If I do it's after waiting upwards of thirty minutes. When it locks it will get lost 2 minutes later. Without fail. This is any ROM based on stock.
AOSP on the other hand... Instant lock. Works without issues. Can drive for hours and not worry even cross country. So.....huh?!
I have used a GPS fix app to no avail and can't assume hardware since it does work on aosp... Any others seeing the same as me? It's killing me because I do want to use stock for other features of my phone but can't because of the constant need to use GPS.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
Well I recently had the opposite problem. What I did was copy the gps.conf file from my stock setup and saved it in a folder. Then when I went to AOSP, I replaced that gps.conf with the one I saved earlier. Just set permissions to RW-R-R and reboot. Worked like a charm for me.
Obviously your situation is the exact opposite. But I don't think it can hurt to give it a shot.
I've actually done that lol. It doesn't change a thing with stock crazy enough. It's just one of those weird things that forces me to stay aosp and miss out on features I guess.
