Hey guys,
Now, my Galaxy Note 2 was rooted. When I connected it with the USB cable to my PC the PC didn't recognize it (it used too, but then suddenly it stopped connecting). It still charges but no new device is detected. No Kies, no MTP, no Odin.
I didn't worry too much, because being rooted I could still do everything using the external sd card.
However then the ROM for Android 4.3 was leaked I stupidly installed the stock version. So, no root, and no capability to mess around with the phone.. I also have no viewable option in Settings to set the device connection to MTP, or PTP mode as usual, but maybe that's because of Android 4.3
I have bought a new USB flex part, opened it and replaced it but it still didn't work.
I download a version of phoneutils.apk and installed (because the one on Android 4.3 didn't have Qualcomm USB settings option) and choose the correct options, but still nothing.
Do you have any idea what may have gone wrong? Or what I can try to do?
I desperately want to root the thing.
Thank you very much! I appreciate any suggestion and reply.
Hi!
This might sound stupid but... have you tried a different USB cable? Or USB port? Sometimes this can solve these kind of issues. Take a look in your computer's Device Manager and see if you have any problems with the USB hub driver. Also try to connect using a different PC and see if that works.
You can try and boot in Download mode (Vol down + Home + Power) and see if ODIN sees the phone. If so, you can flash another stock firmware and see if your USB works then.
Yea tried all that! No success. /:
Phone goes into download mode but Odin does not recognize it..

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if it's just me being a noob or if there is something borked on my P6 but I cannot for the life of me get any of my computers to recognise my P6 when I connect it via USB. I have installed the Mobile Drivers and have also tried putting it into USB Debugging mode but the computer doesn't see the phone. It does, however, charge it via USB but I get nothing else saying I'm connected and HiSuite also reports me as not being connected. Any ideas?
Ok, this is solved. Apparently, the phone's USB cable and another that I tried did not work with the phone but I swapped out to a third cable and it works fine.
I've been running CyanogenMod 10.2 on my rooted HTC One for a good long while now. Since the ROM worked so well, I never had the need to connect the phone to a computer via USB in quite some time. A few months ago, when I attempted to transfer some photos, I ran into a weird and frustrating road block; my phone is simply not being recognized by any computer <see here>
I have updated all drivers
I have enabled debugging in Developer Options
I have tried rebooting Fastboot in bootloader
I have tried using the toolkits
I have tried everything I think I know
The weird part is that the phone charges via USB connected to the computer.
Since it didn't effect much, I just figured it was a glitch and I never ran into a problem again--that is, until today. I hadn't used my MHL adapter with the HTC One (only my GNexus), but after reviewing an intended installation of a Pioneer Appradio, I wanted to ensure that my One would work with the MHL. Hooking up my One to the Samsung MHL adapter (and power supply of course), I get no display on my television.
I am now beginning to wonder if the USB port is damaged. Visual inspection doesn't reveal anything, but I am curious if anyone has had this problem and would appreciate any help. Is there any way to test if I've fouled up the port?
Does the phone recognize that it is connected to a pc? Can you access the phones storage from your pc?

No and no
I installed Flashify and did install CWM 6.0.4.7 to see if it would help, but to no avail
Have you tried adb with a different rom or stock via ruu? If it still dosent work then, either your usb port or your cable is messed up.

I have tried adb, but the device never is recognized.
I'm currenty transferring my TWRP backup via WiFi.
I planned on switching to CM11 and see if I can't get it to work after that.
does the stock recovery supports OTG? like for installing rom through usb drive
since mine apparently got corrupt because OTA update, and now just having bootloop with dm-verity error
it doesn't get detected to PC at all, volume up holding, fastboot, adb sideload, none even detects in PC (not even new device connected in device manager)
though it might be the usb port itself that's busted (although it still can charge just fine)
but i'd like to know first if the stock recovery supports installing from OTG or not, since OTG would be cheaper if it's possible
Hey gals and guys,
my girlfriend dropped her Xiaomi A2 lite and no the touchscreen doesn't respond. The phone has the stock Android One and I can only access fastboot.
Code:
fastboot devices
recognizes the phone.
The recovery is the stock recovery.
Code:
adb devices
won't recognize the phone and gives me an empty line as output
I also can't access the phone via usb with my filebrowser. If I try, the phone makes a "bing"-sound and the filebrowser gives me:
Code:
unable to open MTP device
I am using archlinux and I also have a windows device available.
Is there any chance on getting pictures etc from the phone?
Any suggestions besides getting a replacement for the touchscreen?
Thank you so much.
Connecting via USB probably needs you to click something.
I'm guessing developer mode is not enabled...
If you've got a micro USB OTG cable, you could plug a mouse in.
If you boot TWRP (fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-dees-troy.img) you should be able to get adb and usb transfers working. Don't need to install it, just boot it. Not sure if that works without unlocked bootloader.
