[Q] Which rom based on these requirements ? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I love my 7105 but I have this HUGE problem with the CM nightlies I am using, the internal storage space is always to the max.
I have a 32g SD card and I can't install ANYTHING on it, I have a ton of games and they eat up all in the internal space
So I'd like a rom which allow me to either install the games or any program I want to the SD like it was possible on the older android versions, why the hell did google kill this great feature, I feel like I have an iphone when i get told it can't install or update because it's full.
Or if this is really not possible is there a possibility to mount some "internal" folder on the external sd card, i have tried folder mount to move real racing which is 3gigs by itself, it tells me all is done but the game is still on the inside card...
Thanks a lot for the help

Mokee ROM does allow saving apps to SD card.. Though I don't know if it works on n7105.. I used it on my n7100
Its a CM based ROM.

I put Kings SHOOTER 2.3, pretty sweet!!! Just one question bout memory....

I put Kings shooter and it is working awesome. It's not glitchy, it's smooth and everything works. I partitioned the sd card with Rom Manager. When I use Task Manager the total memory is 404 mb, but free is only 75-90 mb. The apps are downloading to the sd card, but I need to verify they are running from there right? Should I have made it so the Rom runs off the sd card too? Probably dumb questions.
I guess my question is, after loading the rom then I partitioned the sd card, then downloaded a couple apps. I didn't tell it to do anything. I thought I read somewhere I need to tell it to load apps to sd card or something?
Ok, I read where I can go into the settings, applications, yada yada and move it to the sd card. All the ones I downloaded are on the sd card. Is it recommended that I move most other apps to the sd card also to free up lots of memory? Will the phone respond quicker? Thanks
sounds like someone is about to learn the difference between memory(RAM) and storage
Thank you for raising your hand young Mr. Sled=)

Now for your first lesson:
RAM = random access memory, used to temporarily store information for quick access, to put it simply.
storage = self explanatory.
Now to the question at hand. Just like we install apps to our sd card and then run them off that versus installing to our internal memory, is this able to be done with for our Rom to save more internal memory? Unlike a computer which uses a hard drive, our phones actually have solid state storage. But maybe it doesn't matter where the apps or roms are stored for speed of use.
I was talking about you not me.....
I based it off of this statement:
"When I use Task Manager the total memory is 404 mb, but free is only 75-90 mb."
and then you go on to talk about storage and apps on SD and blah blah blah.
You understand that Task Manager is showing you the amount of RAM free and not storage space? right?
haha

Very nice of you to base it off not asking me in the first place and then not offering any info, thanks mr sled. Yes, I do. I'm not up on the latest hardware capabilities, but I know years ago back when nokias were big, we were discussing the use of internal memory as a possible source of expanding ram. Although it doesn't sound like that is the case still since you're not aware of it. Thanks for splaining it to me.
Do you actually have the answer to if we can and should run the rom off the sd card, just like we would run the OS off a hard drive in a computer?
The only devices I'm really aware of that allow running the actual ROM (or OS if you will) from the SD card are the Nook and the HD2. For anything else you're going to have the ROM reside on the internal storage.
You would be taking a big performance hit running a ROM in SD anyway, SD is typically much slower than the internal storage.
You can however install plenty of apps on SD and move lots of stock apps to SD if your has App2SD built in.

Yeah, very true, for os speed is everything. It would be a slug with slow sd memory. Thanks Deathsled.

[Q] Games data file int to ext

Hi guys this new games are driving me crazy. New Nova data file is almost 2GB and other new games are not better. And well I am loving at so much I got new 64GB Micro SD card only to find myself in a trouble, all games save data file in internal storage. Now I tried to go to manage programs and select move to SD Card and only thing it did is moved actual game .like 5 mb and not data folder. So my question is this. Can I just manually move data folders from internal storage to external or I need to use program or setting .....I want to use my new 64GB SD card as main data storage for all games , what do I do ? I am on new rooted ICS with Darkside Evolution 3 beta 1
Thanks !
Noone knows or this is so obvious as copy from internal to external that noone want to even drop a line in here
I have 2 mb left on my internal card ...... HEEELP Thx
I'm in the same exact boat! I'd like to know also.
Yeah I can't imagine something like this is not widely discussed and not actually right in the settings. I do see copy to SD in settings of Applications but it looks like all it does is copy of original install files and not data file, come on guys open this huge secret on how to use external SD for all game cache cause Nova 3 is just killing me .........

[Q] Cannot move apps to sd card on ICS

Hello,
I just installed Evervolv ICS rom on my phone. Things are looking great so far. The speed is more than reasonable and everything seems to be working out of the box. The only problem I noticed is that I started to run out of space on my internal storage and Move to SD card is greyed out for all apps, including the ones I downloaded.
1. do you recommend other better ICS rom for my phone ? From what I've read this is the best.
2. How to enable moving the apps to SD card ?
Thanks all.
I don't recommend ICS at all...

Don't know if that rom uses the same a2sd as many ICS (and GB) roms have built in, but have you tried this in terminal emulator after first boot:
Code:
su
a2sd install
y
n
y
Forgot to mention: you'll need an EXT partition for that.

[Q] tab 3 (T210) - playstore to ExtSHoping someone can help

hoping someone can help. I have a tab 3 T210 running 4.4.2. Its rooted. I wanted to know if theres a way to set apps/games downloaded from playstore direct to ext sd card. Internal memory is small and fills up. I have a 32gb ext sd card and want to use it. already used folder mount to improve it. But hope a way to download direct to ext sd to save more space
1. Wrong category.
2. Nope there isnt a way. The best way is FolderMount really.
Folder mount is great for storing the files on yr extSdcard and able to save space, ive used it for years..
Try Apps2Sd or
Links2sd
I think these are what your looking for

Help with Custom Rom for LG G4 Beat (H735)

Hi Everybody,
My LG G4 BEAT is now a little bit slow.... i have already did what i can do on the current Rom (cleaning, removing apps, clearing cache) - and nothing seems to improve to situation.
i have on it 32 GB micro SDcard, and i save on it everything that can be saved instead on the memory phone, but it is not enough, i have always the same message "not enough space...." when i try to download new Apps or when i'm trying to make Updates.
i figured maybe i'll install a new Rom, and the most important thing is that it will make the phone work faster.
can you recommend me on suitable ROM ? is the first time that i try to do that, so i need some good explanations.
thanks! =)
no bootloader unlock = no recovery = no custom rom
In my experience, custom roms are nearly always faster than stock. And they don't slow down as much as the stock rom. Perosnally I like vanilla android roms with a few tweaks. I find they are the most stable and least prone to slowdown over time. I've used Cyanogenmod in the past and loved it, but there isn't a stable release for the G4. I recommend looking into AOSP-based roms in the Android Development section of this forum. Or you could just do a factory reset, which will make your phone faster. It will still slow down over time, however.
I don't think installing a custom rom will really help your problem with not having enough space. However, installing a rom clears your data partition (this means all apps and the saved data with those apps will be removed. Your personal data like pictures and music will be left untouched.) And that means you'll have plenty of free space!
Have you thought about mounting your SD card as an internal partition instead of a media SD card? This allows the system to use the sd card as if it were an internal sd card, meaning you can install apps to it and stuff. But you will only be able to use your SD card for that phone.

No it isn't, it's just hidden.
You can partition your SD Card through ADB.
On reddit (Enable adoptable storage on your LG G4 (stock, no root needed)) there is a nice tutorial for the LG G4, but it works exactly the same way for the G4s.
But read the comments, there you get usefull hints, like only use a part of the external SD as adoptable storage.
Since I use this I have more than enough space with my G4s and it's even faster, if your SD Card is fast enough.
If you need any further details don't hesitate to contact me.
if i install twrp no-troot h735 then flash magisk to phone it will be rooted?
Custom Rom ? (LG G4 Beat)
Nope, as long as I saw....and it won't be
