Root htc one x internation version on sense 4.1 update.

I just got a HTC One X on vodafone and its on the latest firmware with sense 4.1 that was released a few days ago. Is there anyway to root it or should I wait for people to come up with a way?
Unlock your bootloader with htcdev.com, flash a custom recovery (like clockworkmod). Flash superuser in recovery or flash a custom Rom which comes pre rooted. Job done

Is there a way I can root without losing all my user data and apps from unlocking the bootloader?
If you do a search on here there is a way to back up before unlocking your bootloader, I don't know how to do it myself as I just re set everything after unlocking

[Q] Ota update?

This morning I received a notification that an update to 2.22.401.6 is available. Currently I have stock rom (2.22.401.1) with root and unlocked bootloader.
Is it safe to download and install the update?

sure why not
Are you sure? Or only on stock rom I should not install official updates? And will it affect root and bootloader? And one more question, do you know what's in this update?

No, you should relock the bl, unroot and also flash a stock recovery ideally.

E can't mount sdcard/download/update....

I tried to install it. It doesn't work. It restarts to my Recovery and then nothing.
It wont install if you dont have the stock recovery.

Yes.
Over on a Spanish forums, it says the update just claims to enhance the system. No Android update
" Today it is with surprise that my HTC V ONE is brought to light in the version 2.22.401.6. The description of this version was only brief indicating frequency enhance the system. "
I installed it and can't notice anything different.
So this update is recent?

i thought you had a nand backup, however that RUU isn't available yet so your only solution is to restore a nand backup as stated above

Custom rom, custom recovery ? At least unlock the bootloader first. Think we need to flash.....
Why should I unlock bootloader when update is official?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Rom is stock but I don't know about recovery
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
If recovery is not original we need to flash it. Unlocking is necessary
But how to find out recovery is original or not?

When you are in the bootloader you look for the option RECOVERY.
And if you are sure there is nothing deleted from your stock rom (system apps/Optus apps) then you only need to flash this recovery and update again

Restore a clean stock nandroid backup. The ota patches the files, now they are missing and fails.

OK first thing I was asking you to see if you did a Nandroid Back of your Bell Stock Rom that you might need one day....but that won't work now cause your not stock completely........
Secondly if using firewater and gives you WHELP....... IT'S not going to S-Off.....so your SOL.....so now if you wanted to sell your phone and try another to get S-OFF...this is where your Nandroid Backup would of come in handy....<<<<
