Cyanogenmod 10.2 - How to update superuser binaries - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using Rox's cyanogenmod 10.2
The superuser is built in the rom and is not a seperate app anymore.
Is there a way to update supeuser and it's binaries?

List of apps that not working between stock 4.3 and custom roms like cm10.2

Hello Guys
I wanted to move to cm10.2 since the nightlies start to get official but there is always app or two not working because that mess that google creates for us and the devs by releasing two different branches for Android 4.3
so here is the apps that i have troubles with :
-Light Flow (seems like it's not working on cm10.2)
-Touch control (need module injection enabled on cm kernel or stock modified kernel for build JSS15J or custom kernel like franco and most devs need to enable module injection for the JSS15J kernels)
-Softkeyz (need SuperSu instead of superuser (don't know why the dev made it like that) or your nav bar and status bar will be gone after reboot
it's open for guys and devs to share your experience with this mess that google made with the damn JWR66V and the JSS15J
if there is more apps add them
xposed framework is not working on stock (rooted) nexus 4 with superuser
Stock rooted 4.3:
Snapchat sometimes causes the phone to reboot.
Kik - LED notifications are not working. At all.
Grand Theft Auto:Vice City seems to be crashing on 4.3 I have tried 3 4.3 ROMs (all jss) and it crashes on each, I haven't tried stock but people in the review section on the play store are saying it still crashes

I have been using the xposed module zip from this section and it is working perfectly with cm10.2 . Also I have lightflow installed and it is working fine. Have you enabled lightflow in accessibility and the new notifications listener tab?

[ MOD ] Enable App Ops in 4.4.2 / KOT49H

For those that want access again to App Ops in 4.4.2 / KOT49H (Google's build), just flash this zip. It's for deodex or stock odex and it will work with ART.

How?
Using it on Android 4.4.2 with ART engine. Running just fine!!
Thanks a lot!!
A few more information for others:
Google in 4.4.2 removed entry in Settings app that enabled App Ops applications from Play to actually display App Ops function.
This mod revert back commit that Google did in order to prevent us from using it.
You still need App Ops starting app from Google Play (will not promote any here) that is Android 4.4 compatible!
Don't look for 4.4.2 compatible app on Google Play, as such do not exist. If it would exist, then we wouldn't need this mod. right?

Umm, sorry, but this app still works fine for me (not the native one, but with root permissions).

OK. There is one.
You have to pay for above (in app purchase), then you can use what ever you want.

The Xposed module I mentioned actually adds an entry in the settings for app ops, no extra app needed

That's true. But Xposed is not ART compatible. Yet.
So, thanks go to OP for providing this.

Can you please explain any differences between it and zrgiu's zip ?
Also why is your zip so big (over 5mb) ? The other is less than 2mb.

The zip in the thread you linked is the apk for his apps ops launcher. The zip here is stock the settings apk that has been modded so you can use an apps ops launcher of your choice.

Thanks. So for stock ROMs that like to update via OTA, better use App Ops X instead of this modified settings apk, right?

Most likely this zip will block OTA. I'm not sure about the app linked, but since it now requires root and would probably have to do some modding to function, it wouldn't surprise me if it also blocks OTA. If uninstalling reverts changes, then you would be ok.

[Q] OmniRom (OS 4.4.2)

Firmware OmniROM originally developed as opposed to changes that appeared in CyanogenMod. Many developers, including some of the core team Cyanogen, began to need a firmware that would be more accessible to the user and had more control. So there was a project OmniROM, who led the popular Android developers such as Super Su's Chainfire, TWRP's Dees_Troy and Focal's XplodedWild.

It already is stable. Enough for a daily driver. I'm using it for three weeks now. Bugs are the same as CM11

Adaway on Android 11 ROMs?

Anybody able to get Adaway to function on a custom Android 11 ROM. I'm currently on the latest evolution ROM, and it "fails to install new hosts file." I'm guessing because these newest ROMs disguise the device as a Pixel 5. Any thoughts?

Have you enabled "Systemless Hosts" in Magisk Manager settings? You'll need to in order for AdAway to work. With Android 11, the /system partition is set to permanent read-only and AdAway therefore cannot change the hosts file.
Thank you. I figured out what to do. I had been using an older version of Adaway and it's working fine now! Now, if only XDA app work work while Adaway is running
