[Q] installing the FX042

i am abaut to install the latest update of CM7 to my ARC
in the ZIP files there are a few APK files .
com.sonyericsson.extras.liveview.apk
com.sonyericsson.extras.liveware.apk
GLBenchmark_2.0.3_Android_Community.apk
SETorch.apk
what are they ?
do i need to install them ?????

The clue to what they are is in the name. ;-)

You don't have to install them if you don't want to. They are just some useful apps.

Binary UpdateZip/Superuser 3.1.3./Superuser-3.2-RC2-arm-signed.zip-update RC3

This File is for all Superuser 3.1.3. Peoples there cant update the Binary from 3.1.to 3.1.1.
I haved the same Problem and after many long searching i found this File.
Just place the Zip on Sd go to Stockrecovery and install the Zip and the Problem is solved.I hope thats help any Users.

Just install the Superuser zip in normal Recovery,done
BusyBox latest bin:1.20.2 no idea how to install(have it with my pro version automa.)only uploaded for the req. from:savie(just extract the file)

I used ur tool for rooting and the binary was 3.1

New update Superuser 3.2 RC3-Link in first Post.

the fix to unable to update binary is:
Uninstall / Delete Superuser.apk from system/app
Reboot
Download superuser from play store
then update binary and everything should work

or u can use the latest release candidate version and flash via recovery,done.

You must have a rooted phone and guess what you need to root your phone first ?

Xperia M Dual C2004/5 FW 15.2A.1.12 + Root

Finally i found this rootingtool:
MOD edit: links removed
it works.
I can´t really see what i am doing but i got root. After installing i changed to SuperSU.
It would be wonderful if somebody could translate and give some information about website and software.
Firmware is just uploading ... will post link later.

plese provide steps for making sd card as internal memory i tried using link2sd(http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/12/12/link2sd-guide-never-worry-about-internal-memory-limits-again/) and phone got soft brick

Bro If u want to play big games like gameloft just use FOLDER MOUNT app thats it..
U wont need to swap storage..
Just follow FOLDER MOUNT instructions..

i tried folder mount gl to sd
once i press mount the mobile starts rebooting

Sound like it needs root fixing, download and install busybox has to be installed in system/xbin folder there's a choice on install location then install using normal install, once done try the root fixer app I shared in the c1904/1905 root method to fix the root and see if you can edit the system files then let me know if it's successfull

Wich version of vroot id you use? I used chinese 1.7.

Install supersu from market then find a root uninstaller app and uninstall the Chinese su app that's how I did it on the dual sin firmware

After vroot I used SuperSu. Gaining root access for SuperSu and changed su bin from SuperSu menu. Then uninstalled vroot bin.

xperia c dual have app2sd support its jelly bean version is 4.2.2
can anyone port tat firmware to our device??

rooted successfully my phone with this method {using vroot} but when i try to launch any root required app. such as {gl to sd} phone just reboots also tried root fix but nothing happened .... and as superuser installed was different i want to replace it with the one available in play store is there any method to do it. . .kindly help ... and offer your suggestions.....

yeh dude ur rite.... it was version problem. i was using 1.6... rooted successfully with 1.7

Hi! I have the Xperia M C9105 version *with android Jelly Bean 4.3* UNROOTED (Im from Spain) before getting this phone i always wanted to have emoji input in the stock keyboard. Actually i'm using the Pure Android Emoji keyboard, but for using it on Snapchat, it's impossible. And seems that exist an apk of the Xperia keyboard updated w emoji. (I cant install from Play Store). I tried to install this apk: mediafire com/download/5t85fx4yll1tcza/textinput-tng-emoji.apk
from another XDA thread, but when im installing it says. Not installed, and something of a package conflict. I tried to sign w ZipSigner and still doesnt work. I just wondered if changing the package name (if its possible)[from com.example.textinput. [idk what is the keyboard package name] to another package name so it doesnt make conflict w the preinstalled xperia keyboard. *I dont want to delete the preinstalled kb, it would be fantastic to have the emoji one and the preinstalled, bc i dont want to root Xperias (seems to be very dificult))

I know about towelroot but supposedly it doesnt give u full root. If i make the towelroot thing i can install the keyboard update w/out bricking ? And change the font w iFonts?

Someone can edit the apk or give me a no root solution?

Forget TowelRoot.Unlock bootloader using the guides,install a recovery (just choose one),flash SU zip and you're done.
Then flash an Xperia Keyboard zip from the Sony cross development subforum.

I know how to unlock bootloader from Sony, tell me how to flash a recovery on my phone, give me a SU zip and tell me how to flash it, and i think i will know how to flash the KB.
