[Q] Is 6h Charge time normal?

Yeah, like topic.
6h is the charge time for my HOX, my 3gs was so much faster at charging so this just feels a bit retarded.

Mine went from 10% to 80% in 3 hours. Thats while playing music all the time and doing other stuff, basically never going to sleep, but screen mostly off.
Depends what you do with your phone really... if you use it actively with screen on, then very little juice is left to charge battery.
If it's first time charging then it also takes a bit longer.

It has now charged for exactly 5 h and is only at 78%
I have had it and used it for a week now, charge it daily.
Don't use it for anything when it is charging, because I want it to charge as fast as possible. The only thing I may do is start it sometime and make a note or something like that.
Guess I will exchange this phone for a new one.

Maybe it's the charger, not the phone? It's might not deliver standard 1 amper. For example PC/Laptop USB ports only supply half of that, so charge time will double.
If you don't have any app/service on the phone that keeps it busy AND the charger is working fine, then such a long time would be unusual.

Charging via what means?
The AC adaptor? i charge from that in a couple of hours
pc-USB? this can take longer since the pc-usb port will push out lower current plus you are more often than not doing other stuff while using the usb for data as well

I made sure to charge it in the wall, and not in a computer or anything other like that. Now that I think about it I have bin using a wallcharger/adapter from apple, that is made for the iphone (could also be from an Ipad, nut sure) but it says that the output is the same as on the HTC charger.
The only thing that has been running o the phone is wifi hotspot to my computer, could this bring it down?

Yes, WiFi on and actively used can slow charging down. Especially if you have enabled advanced wifi option for more performance.
For a piece of mind, do a test next time, disable WiFi and let the phone go to sleep as normal and see how quickly it charges then.
Any charger should work as long as it outputs 5V at more or less 1 amp

You should at least try to charge it with the one x charger before assuming it's the phones fault.

An iPad wall adapter doesn't charge my galaxy nexus or i9100 either. Use a different adapter.

Yes I agree, but did not think about this before, but charging it again now

So I think it did the trick to turn of wifi hotspot, now it looks like it wil charge in 2.5-3.5 h.

[Q] How To Change Battery #GNote2?

Maybe this question has been asked for many user.. but I need more clearly solution. My Question is simple.
Which one the best method to change our #GNote2 battery?
a. Charge it whatever have a time to change
b. Change it when our #GNote2 said that we need to charge our battery
c. Always Change until it FULLY CHANGED... and never remove charger cable before battery full.
Or any the best method?

No more battery memory right now .
Of coz you can use your phone battery to under 20% then charge it back to 100%
But it's not easy @ note2.
Everyday I have around 30-40% battery leave when I charging.

You cannot damage your battery by not charging it to full each cycle. At all. Period.

If you use your note2 as normal user.
Internet browser for 3-4 hours
Video for 1-2 hours
What's app ,email ,or something
You can never see the battery warning after one day usage.
-> I suppose you cannot hand on your phone all day time

In his defense, I have had several phones where the charging port eventually got flaky and I also kind of worry about this slightly. This includes the note 1.

That has nothing to do with the battery and everything to do with being careless when plugging or unplugging.

OP, you may want to google or wiki the latest battery technology. Those 'tips' (b) and (c) you mentioned were good for NiMH batteries. Nowadays, we use Li ion or Li polymer batteries which do not need to be fully charged and discharged to maintain longevity.

Two things are important for prolonging your battery (lithium based) life: charging level and depth of discharge. avoid charging to 100% as much as you can, and also avoid wide discharging range.
A good strategy is to charge what you use, that is, if you use only 50% of the capacity every day, then only charge to 80% and use it down to 30%, then recharge.

It isn't. It's just more FUD about batteries... *sigh*
Listen people. It's -really- very simple. There are no tricks involved. Just drain your battery how you like and charge it how you like. These phones are designed for average people in mind. People who don't have a CLUE about having special discharge/recharge routines. They're designed to be charged whenever the user wants to charge, to 100% or not, as the user likes. The hardware within the charging circuit and battery itself will protect it from harm.

Hello I was wondering what is the optimal way to charge the s3? With wall charger or in comp? Should I let it plugued more after it says "Charged(100%)"?

I just picked up a Zero Lemon 2300 and still trying to figure out best way. The instructions they give you just dont make sense to me

They make it looks kinda simple but how can we be sure the battery is really fully charged or decharged etc..

Exactly. Plus every time I read someones post on how they did it its always different.
My first battery charge I did what they said. Charged for 12 hours with phone off. Ran it down to 1% and then recharged. Left it on charger for about half hour-hour past full charge. Did the 5 recharge cycles.
Think second battery I may install and run down to 1% before fully charging. My batteries came in with about 56% charge. I dont see why they would need to be charged for 12 hours like that

fastest should always be wall charger since it has higher current than your usb port in your computer will output, especially if you don't have fast charge enabled (root and rom support required for fast charge).
TL;DR use a wall charger

Yeah wall charger charges up the battery faster than in the computer. But I don't mind the time it takes.. The question is which method is better for the battery? Plus I don't use fast charge since opinion on its risk varie a lot.

Chemically speaking, the speed variation of the reaction shouldn't matter on health. The process is pretty much reversible which is why you can recharge it after draining. The only reason batteries die is because this process isn't perfect, and sometimes chemical pollutants form. In this case the current and time variation shouldn't provide a better battery health either way. For best battery health simply drain the whole way down before charging it. Charging it when its not completely empty tends to make it die faster. (Chem major here)

For best results we ask that customers let the items die down to 1-4% before your first charge. Leave the battery charging for 12 hours if you are able to. Then repeat this cycling 4-5 times. This will yield the best results the quickest. Hope this helps.

Great answer! And what about letting the phone plugued in at 100%? Like a whole night? I've heard so much things, some says "it's better to always charge it a little when you can because it is bad if it reaches 0%". I know it's a chemical reaction and I know the internal resistor gets altered over time providing less efficient charge/decharge. When the phone closes it is because not enough power comes out of the battery, but the reaction is still there and by pluguing it we revive it.. right? That would make sense to me. That would mean that there isn't a charging habit killing the battery life more than another?

I generally like to unplug when full. The reason being, when it gets to 100% it discharges to 99% and the back to 100% it charges. Now in all reality you won't notice any of this battery dying with current gen li-ion batteries unless you keep a battery for like 2 years of use. But then you can always replace it. Bottom line is its not really worth worrying about. I don't know why people say letting it go to 0% is bad. The less repetitive charging, the better, this means letting it go from 100 to 0 as often as possible.
TL;DR it doesn't matter, your battery will outlive your new phone cycle

[Q] N900T Extremely Slow to Charge- Tips?

Hello,
I bought a gently used N900T a few days ago. The device is awesome and works perfectly, except for one thing. Charging the phone with the Samsung charging cable+ac adapter takes longer than forever. It charges at a rate of approximately 8-9% per hour.
A few notes:
Device on, device off, it doesn't matter. It charges at the same slow rate.
The battery itself, once it charges, holds that charge very well.
The slow charging happened both when I was on the stock rom and on my current Slim Rom.
I have ordered a new charger and a new battery. If the slow charging persists with these new accessories, am I doomed? Is the slow charging a known issue for the Note 3? Besides the new equipment, does anyone have any advice on how to solve this?

Rooted running Slim Rom v8 and LeanKernel 1.2. I'm unsure if a fast charge feature is supported.

Dude this phone charges pretty fast without any roms or mods. ..it charges fast out of the box. .. Are you using the charger that comes with...correct me if I'm wrong but I think the charger that Came with this is usb 3.0....not your regular usb charger. ..

I am using a genuine Samsung Note 3 charger. The replacement coming is another genuine Samsung Note 3 charger. I'm sincerely hoping the one I have now has a cable problem or something. I really, really like the phone but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen a similar story or knows of a possible solution in the case that the new charger+battery do not work.

As I noted, the slow charging happened on both stock rom+kernel as well as custom roms.

So this has been doing it from day one. On your white wall charger how many amps does it say.

Well I have to be honest from dead it takes about 2.5hrs to get back to 100. On stock.using the wall charger with 2amps. When he gets his new charger he should be good or a good kernel swap. Either way it should come back to normal

You gonna have to do testing or replace phone. Me I would change kernel just cause it takes 2 seconds. Let it ride a day if no change then a factory refresh. You have checked that no app is killing phone as fast as it charges right?

Edit. I was just on his thread and a few guys having issues with either bad batter. UV/ oc .try a different ROM and kernel. Fresh install meaning Odin back to stock and start all over. Sorry good luck

As weird as this sounds, I tried the charger in a different outlet in my home and it works a lot better. The battery charges quite fast from any level to about 96%, then starts crawling again to 97, 98 and stops at 98. I opened battery calibration, which shows the battery at 96% and 4337mv, which is the same mv level as 100% normally if memory serves me correctly. So I'm thinking the battery is "full", but for some reason won't go to 100% without a fight. Perhaps if I clear my cache+dalvik cache? Any other suggestions?

What was wrong with mine it was the charger. The usb wasn't connected all the way in the AC therefore was only charging like it would through computer as soon as I fixed it with a blow of air and a gentle push it right away started charging AC phone charged in 2 hours

I could be wrong but I noticed my charging is slower when I stick my charger into a surge protector power bar as opposed to a standard wall outlet.

Mine was the charging cable I used a regular USB charger cable and it charge fast

Fast charging tips and tricks

Here are some fast charging tips and tricks that actually work :
1- Turn on your airplane mode.
2- If you are waiting for any important calls or messages then ignore step one and simply turn off any unused feature like wifi and bluetooth.
3-Atleast once in a month charge your mobile from 20% to 100% this enchances battery life.
4- Atleast once in a week restart your mobile or switchoff the phone for 5 mins remove battery and reinstall and reboot.
5-The most effective is that buy a charger of a mobile like note 3 coz it charges faster than normal grand 2 charger(use at your own risk)
6- If you feel your mobile is getting hotter while charging turn off power saving mode if issue still remains turn off the phone.

Why use another charger? Using another charger than that specially designed for the phone may apply different voltage/current intensity to the battery, and thus affecting its efficiency...
You shouldn't be using another battery, every phone has its own battery charger, it's not a battery cell!!

I'm using a note 3 charger for my grand 2 for about 7 months and well it haven't affected my battery or phone and I bought it from a Samsung store and that person said it won't affect the battery but only charge it fast

"charge it fast" means going abnormal... Nothing's called charge fast and drain the same, if you charge your battery faster than it's intended to be, it'll cause trouble, most probably draining fast or the reactants of the battery wearing out fast, and 7 months are nothing lol!

haha what do you expect from a battery to run like 2 years or so haha well if you ask me i have'nt felt any abnormal drain in battery life
