Is not very clear.. we know how this is.
But is a very good new.:good:
If I'm not mistaken it's not LG that replied to your comment but some random dude. So it doesn't mean anything. But on the other hand even LG had lied about updates in the past.
So don't get your up too much.
if it's true what he said he didn't mentioned our model, and i don't believe in that story until i see update on my e975 for 4.4
In consideration of all the other kitkat update claims, its either a very ballsy, stupid or genius first XDA post...time will tell.

as he says we're working I don't think that he's a random guy. and you know, LG admins don not have the right to announce anything until they arre told to do. So they act more conservative. look at the screenshot attached. Some information are company confidential. But the employees are more free to do it. I mean even if he's not true about next month he must be true about the coming of the update.

Well, Optimus g is optimus g. my model is e975 too. and this one must be the first to get it. becaause AT&T models should be customized and also requested by AT&T... International ones are the ones supported directly by LG.

I hope it won't be the first one
One again, a "no-news" and a lack of reliable source...
Don't get me wrong, I'd like the KK update as anyone else but what is provided here is just enough to built hope on some, nothing more.
No reliable source, nothing official, and, IMHO, someone using terms like "dude" on a responce is far from beleivable. I don't know what is "confirmed" by this screen, but it's nothing but hot air!

We're going to receive it man. believe me. By the way, I can't see any dude in his response
His reply:
"Dude's new all LG smartphones are too gud..."
IMHO, sound juvenile!
And I do HOPE we receive an update, but will all due respect, don't expect anyone to believe you unless you provide solid proof.

Cannot see the word Dude mentioned in this thread before your posts and in any case, I'm not bothered what words are used to describe hopeful software updates for our devices
Also, belief in something is personal and I'm happy to at least hope for future updates based on this thread
As I'm sure other people are too
LG Optimus G E975
Palm Pre

I want to believe that our LGOG will get KitKat next month, but considering that not even G2 has it, I don't think that it's possible.. Maybe 1, 2 months after G2 - if LG decides to respect their customers..

The G2 already has 4.4 In Korea tho.
World wide, I meant.
Let's study the situation a bit deeper.
reasons we get the update:
1. if we consider the 18 months period of recieving updates, we still have 4 months left. G was released in October, 2012
2. I think except for the initial batch, most of the devices had Jelly bean 4.1.2 while being sold and they still have the same version. So there should be at least an update to a higher version.
3. Physically the device has all the potentials to be upgraded to kitkat and as a previous flagship deserves to get it.
4. the leaked news says that they were testing kitkat on both g pro and g. Now that they are releasing the update for g pro by the end of Q2. There should be an update for g as well since we know that the device doesn't lack anything to run kitkat smoothly.
resons no to get it
1. Why should a company care for a phone from 2012 while there are so many other new phones 2013 onward?
Well I think we have more reasons to get it than not to get it.
to get or not to get. this is the question
and look
Samsung officially announced the models which will get kitkat. Among them you can see Note 2 which was released in September, 2012 and Galaxy S3 which was released in July, 2012!!
So let's keep our fingers crossed
humm... i think we`re going to be in 4.1 forever :s
i think this guy forgot to add this screenshot ... in this image you can see the official (As usual) Announcement of 4.4 update to G....

And where is the announcement in that?
Standard canned response telling nothing at all. They'll forward the request! Dosen't mean LGOG is getting anything as of now.
Heeeeeeey
I didn't forget anything. I have written the question everywhere and I've got the same response as the one you attached. I myself attached one last page.
They are not allowed to announce anything. Actually they don't know anything. They are simply page admins. Whenever they say something it's not true or exact. No one knows exactly when everything will be ready but I believe it will be ready one day not so far from today.
Hi All,
I'm an Nexus owner, considering whether is it worth to buy a G3 in recent days.
I'm wondering whether LG will push the latest Android version after it was released? I'm enjoying the Nexus devices just because we can get the newest Android, and got lots of stable, amazing ROM and Kernel mods. So would LG followed the Google's steps?
Bootloader is unlockable atb so for now there are no roms or kernels for g3.
I think we wont see android L on g3 before end of this year.
Verizon is horrible at releasing updates, the devs that brought us root and possible future bootloader unlock are doing a great job
Android L is releasing by the end if this year, HTC already confirmed it and google has always had a pattern if releasing at the end if the year anyway
We most likely won't see a android L preview port before it's out, but an AOSP rom with the next version of android will come
I cannot reveal my sources, but I have been told that LG are looking to move very quickly to release L when it has been officially released (I believe the other companies will also be doing the same).
The roll out time from release to being on non nexus devices will be the shortest we have ever seen.
I still do not know how quickly this would be, it could be anything up to three months from release, but I still expect it to be sooner than that.
I would take a guess and say we will get an official release for the G3 before January 2015, L won't be released by Google until November.
Are we sure our device will even get it?. Had a bad experience with updates when it comes to LG. LG Optimus 2X for example lol
The g2 got updated from jellybean to kit Kat. I think there's hope that the g3 will be updated from kit Kat to L
Sent from my LG G3
most likely we will get it by the end of Jan

They don't know anything about that, but that doesn't mean it's not going to happen, different departments and all that.

There is a very reputable source in South Korea says that G3 isn't scheduled for Android L upgrade.
Instead, LG thinks on releasing a new phone with L around mid-summer 2015.

does anyone know if lg will be globally releasing an official lollipop for the wifi variant (v500) ? contacted lg Australia and the rep didnt really know . I tried the Korean lollipop kdz but i didnt like it cause of the Korean region specific additions (remote ,etc). Have other regions received the wifi variant lollipop update ? also has official support for the device stopped ( no new software updates ?) thanks
*searched and didn't find a similar thread so i thought i would ask
If LG doesn't know, there's no way an XDA user knows. People can only speculate.
Probably not. This is a fairly old tablet by now, and as much as I love it, and it still performs smoothly, I ultimately believe LG has stopped support for it. You might just as well use the Korean build and just disable the stuff you don't like, at the end of the day, the only remnants that can't go away are the Won symbol instead of $ on the keyboard shortcuts and the Kweather source instead of Accuweather.
I doubt it @keith456.
I didn't like that ROM either, I thought the hardware should have made the device feel quicker. I was about to flash a Slim build on it when the Marshmallow build turned up so I put that on it. I'd suggest trying that, I've been very impressed with it so far. Obviously it's a bit more involved than staying official but if you've had the tablet for a while you're probably out of warranty already.
Agree, I flashed Marshmallow and i'm totally satisfied
As the title says, I have a VK810 that I desperately need to get to 5.1 or greater.
I have been looking all over for a way with no luck. I have an audio controller that won't work properly with the tablet without it.
Seems like verizon is never going to release the update.
Can anyone assist?

There's a CM12.1 ROM in Development or Original Development, and more recent builds you can find by looking for @invisiblek 's site. You can't get mobile data on them. Some had luck getting mobile data to work for a little while on more recent builds but I never had luck, and I know it stopped working for a friend of mine who out world for originally.
It's too soon to give up on another official update in my opinion. The second official 5.0.2 release came out three months ago, and to compare, on the VS985 G3, there were three months between the second 5.0.1 and 5.1.1, and updates will never come out as fast for the G Pad 8.3 as for the G3 although I think perhaps the first Lollipop for the VK810.4G came out before it did for the G3, but you know what I mean. The phones are more of a priority.
Or do you need to use the LG updating software? Also which update software does it need if it needs one
Seems to be very cheap for what it is in the UK, about £100 and my mum needs a new phone and doesn't want to spend any more so this looks to be the best for the price.
But I'd really like to figure out how the updates work on this thing and it will be done over the phone (as in I'm not going to be able to update this thing in person if it needs extra software) so I really need to know how to get it off stock 4.4.2 or whatever it comes with on stock.
Also, what is the latest version of Android it officially has in it's updates? 5 or 6?
Thanks.
