[Q] Back to stock (KitKat) - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, hoping to get the Galaxy S5 tomorrow. So I wanna sell my Note 2.
I need to go back to stock to do this (not rooted, stock firmware)
I am currently running a 4.4 stock based custom ROM
I know with some Samsung's you can't downgrade after getting 4.4 firmware installed on your device.
Or can I download 4.3 firmware from sammobile and flash through odin without issues?
If this is the case. Would someone please Tell me a link to a 4.4 stock firmware I can flash through Odin please? Can't seem to find one.
PLUS any recommendations to prevent bricking my phone will be greatly appreciated!

Yes you can downgrade after a 'Custom' 4.4.2 to 4.3, not sure about official because it is still not available. Try flashing it with Mobile Odin Pro instead of PC Odin.
Note: Backup your all content and EFS as well to save signs of your phone.

[Q] 4.3 Stock for Odin?

Hey guys,
I'm trying to go back to a stock Touchwiz ROM from CyanogenMod 10.2. My only problem is, I can't Odin back to a stock from because the only Odin compatible file I have is 4.1.1 which my phone will no longer go to since my baseband was updated after trying a former 4.3 ROM.
Can anyone link me to a 4.3 ROM that I can flash in Odin? I'm asking because most of the ROM's I'm finding that are 4.3 require you to be on a TW ROM before flashing their ROM. Thanks.

This link is useless for me as it does not have a 4.3 stock rom listed in their official firmwares. They have only up to 4.1.2 which I cannot Odin back to since my baseband was already updated.

|ROM|Bootloader|Kernel|Modem| AT&T Official 4.3 MJB |24 Nov 2013| There you go all stock. make sure you hit the thanks button for everyone (not my files I just found them)
You cant flash this in odin but can use TWRP or CWM. will get you back all stock. Good luck...

Do I have to be on a stock rom to use this? I'm currently on Quantum V3 and I don't have access to a stock rom to revert to since my baseband was updated.

No you don't have to be on the stock rom to use that, but the bootloaders are for 4.3 so if you haven't updated yet this will update you.
You can flash any rom you want to as long as you do not mess with the bootloader you will be OK. I do not know if this work on anything besides an at&t phone using it on anything else is done so at your own risk just the same as using it.
What about the recovery? any way to get a stock recovery image?

brand-new t999, stock 4.1.2 MD5, upgrade to 4.4.x? Please advise...

hello all, i have a fresh out of the box T999, firmware ver 4.1.2, kernel ver ends w/ MD5. i need to upgrade the firmware on this phone to 4.4.x so i can run the Amazon Flex Delivery app on it, and am kinda confused as to what the proper route is to get there from stock 4.1.2... im reading about 4.3 adding Knox, tripping 'Modified' switches, etc and really just need to know what the upgrade path is and proper order. im familiar w/ using Odin and custom recoveries, but also read that just installing a custom recovery on this phone will trigger it into modified mode in a permanent way. dont care about being rooted, i dont even think the Amazon Delivery app will run on a rooted device.
any advice or info would be greatly appreciated, thx in advance all..
The last official update to the T-Mobile Galaxy S3 was Android 4.3. If you want 4.4 or higher, then you're going to have to flash a custom ROM. If you aren't comfortable flashing ROMs, then you'll need a newer phone.
I suggest using Odin to flash the latest ROM to your phone, install the app, and see if it runs.

Upgrading from 4.3 to 4.4

I'm running 4.3 but want to upgrade to official 4.4 or any stock firmware that's snappier than 4.3, don't know much since I just got the phone and I've already rooted it with twrp recovery...
Confused about what to flash, please help
For stock 4.4.2, look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ile-sgh-i747ucufne4v4-4-2attall-odin-t3305899
Thank you for the link but I'm still confused how... Should I just odin the firmware or what
Yes, the files are flashed via Odin in the appropriate slots.

Reverting back to Stock Rom From Andriod 7.1.2

I want to revert back to Stock ROM on my Galaxy Note II N7100. Currently I am on CrDroid 7.1.2. I am afraid that I will lose my IMEI if I downgrade. Can anyone kindly explain the process to downgrade or at least let me know whether the downgrade is possible or not?
Download mode and Odin are necessary.
Yes, you can flash back to a stock ROM and your IMEI should be intact.
You will need Odin and the latest stock ROM from updato.com, sammobile.com, or samsung-firmare.org.
