Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 T-Mobile version (SGH-T999). I had the official Android 4.0.4 version,I could not do the update to 4.3 version,so I only variant has to do root on the phone and snort with unroot install a 4.3 version, which I did. After installing I had the first boot and I had setup Google accounts, Dropbox accounts, etc. .. I did not do the setup, but I skipped because I was activated mobile data. When we had removed all the money that I had in the mobile card,I went in the settings and tried to enable Wi-Fi,but could not, constantly goes out. I do not know what the problem was but would gladly like to help me, because my phone never do true Wi-Fi. Thank you in advance!
Please do a Factory Reset and set up all over again.
I supplemented the money on the card, this morning at 9 am done factory reset. I tried to turn on Wi-Fi but the same as before the reset and, again, I turn on the mobile data and took my money from mobile cards. If it is to google accounts'll pay packages for internet and I'll set. If you need I will put pictures.
Can you please post the thread or instructions you followed to get 4.3 ? If Factory Reset didn't cure your issue, we need to look at how you did the update.
Make sure auto switch networks is turned off in settings. Did you try with the sim card removed?

@ Perseus17 On the phone I did root through Odin3 program, entered into recovery mode and installed SuperUser phone was rooted. I downloaded the official 4.3 update for the appropriate model and unroot when I installed a 4.3. Unroot I've done over the application Triangle Away and Mobile Odin. If you want, I can explain in more details how I installed. Hello!
@ DocHoliday77 How do you turn off that? Whether we can send a picture or explain the steps on how to find it? Hello!
If you installed the Official 4.3 Release and then right now its not Rooted. Is this correct ?
Secondly, If I understand it correct, Right now, the phone will not connect to any Wireless networks. Especially those it was able to connect before the update ? Kindly confirm.
It is true that the phone is no longer rooted because when installing official Android version of the phone is no longer rooted. Phone before the update could go on any Wi-Fi network. After the update can not be either one,or more precisely, the Wi-Fi does not start.
Just for Kicks, can you flash the Insecure Kernel via custom Recovery such as CWM or TWRP ?
See the state of Wireless after reboot.
What I need to do?
Step 1 - You flash a Custom Recovery such as CWM or TWRP via Respective Apps Rom Manager or Goo Manager.
Step 2 - Download the insecure kernel I linked in my last post to your phone's SD Card. Reboot to the Recovery and flash that kernel Zip file.

I broke the digitizer on my note 2, completely destroying any chance of ever being able to view the screen again. Also, I never set up my note II in android device manager to be able to erase it. I bought a new phone, have no desire to put a new digitizer in this phone, and want to sell it. What are my options?
Samsung dive you tried?
Unfortunately I didn't set up Samsung Dive on my phone either.
You could flash your existing rom (if you know which one you had) through odin.
Only thing you have to do 'blind' is bring device in download mode (with device off...volume down/home/power...wait a bit...volume up....hook to your computer and odin suppose to say 'added').
If you don't know which rom was on it, search sammobile for the latest one and flash it as described...make sure it is a full wipe rom (otherwise your data will stay). I think the roms on sammobile that have the orange Kies symbol next to it are non wipe, the ones with grayed Kies symbol are full wipe, but don't shoot me for that
Another solution to be sure of a full wipe rom is to find a similar one here on the forums and ask in the specific thread.
The phone wasn't flashed...
For 'flashing' a rom through Odin your device would not have to be flashed in the first place.
Flashing in this case just means putting the original firmware back on it.
If you don't know which firmware was on your device give Sammobile a try to find the latest firmware.
Sorry, I meant the phone was never even rooted...

In the following link at post 6 you can find emergency factory reset firmwares which also reset your SD card personal information etc. Unfortunately the links was at hotfile which is not working anymore, but I saw at same thread some users have uploaded them to other servers search the thread starting from last post to first and u will find the links. The thread has installation instructions via odin. After installing browse your SD card via pc at android/data to see if any data of your installed application exist, if not and are only the applications which coming with phone means that your phone reseted successfully
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1915386
For flashing via pc odin you have to go blind as nirak wrote to u earlier for entering at download mode. Follow his instructions to enter download mode and after the instructions of the thread I gave u. Also u have to install first Samsung kies software for the drivers and after to enter at task manager at your pc and terminate all the processes of kies, 4 processes if I remember well because kies don't allows to flash via odin. You need it only for the drivers.

After many tries of failure from ROM flashing, reprogramming and trying to understand the alien language to me, I finally figured out how to get wifi tether working for your galaxy note 2. There are links in this thread and make sure that you follow the instruction I have for you here as well.
*** Disclosure ***
I am not an expert or a someone who can give you an advice. Directions hereafter are what worked for me and I am only sharing how I got it worked. However, it is not a definite way to get wifi tether working for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-T889). Please do this for US model only.
This direction is for people who have never done rooting and programming phones, and upgraded to JB 4.3 via OTA with KNOX enabled bootloader. By the end of this direction, your GN2 will be rooted on T-Mobile stock ROM with wifi tether enabled. Please be aware that this direction will void your phone's warranty by tripping KNOX counter. So do this at your own will. Also, back up your most recent ROM and personal files just in case.
So, enough disclosure.....and here it is.
(For this part of instruction, I would like to give a big thanks to mrRobinson for providing pre-rooted stock T-Mobile ROM.)
1. Download ODIN (version does not matter, but 3.07 or 3.09 should work fine)
2. Find Tmobile ROM and download JellyBean Release 4.3 (December 2013) from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975560
3. Unzip downloaded ROM in your PC and run ODIN (Leave Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checked in ODIN)
4. Find and click PDA or AP in ODIN and load downloaded ROM (root66_TMO_T889UVUCMK7_2.tar.md5)
5. Turn T889 off, then put the phone to download mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power. Then plug USB cable to the phone
6. Click START to flash your phone
Once the phone reboots, your phone will be rooted. Easy so far, right?
Now the next step...
(For this part of instruction, I would like to give a big thanks to mattlowry.)
1. Visit this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2564430 and download 2 files: Version 2.1 of SWARM ROM (Look for Download(v2.1)) and WifiTethering.zip (Look for a mediafire link on Version 2.1)
2. Copy these files on your phone's SD Card
3. Turn T889 off, then enter into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power. If the recovery mode says Android System Recovery 3e on top and does not have "advanced" menu, reboot your phone and go to Play Store. Download ROM Manager by ClockworkMod. Run Rom Manager and choose Recovery Setup. Under the Recovery Setup, install or update recovery "ClockworkMod Recovery". After this install/update, turn your phone off and enter into recovery mode.
4. In the recovery mode, select "wipe data/factory reset", then select "wipe cache partition", then select "advanced", then select "wipe dalvik cache." Once you are done this far, select "Go Back", then select "install zip." Under install zip menu, select "Choose zip from /storage/sdcard1". (There will be about 15 to 20 second delay until the next menu.) Find the SWARM ROM zip file and flash the phone's ROM.
5. After flashing the phone with SWARM ROM, go back to install zip menu and find WifiTethering.zip, then flash your phone.
A bit painful, but you've done great!...but we are not done yet.
Now, do not panic if your Wifi does not work after this step. There is a fix.
(For this part of instruction, I would like to give a big thanks to dr.ketan.)
1. Visit this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48468121&highlight=mattlowry#post48468121
2. Download "Wifi_patch_t889.tar.rar" and extract the file in your PC.
3. Run ODIN and click on PDA or AP, then load the file "Wifi_patch_t889.tar.md5".
4. Press START and wait until your phone reboot.
Now your Wifi patch is done, but your wifi won't work until you do the following.
(For this part of instruction, I would like to give a big thanks to DerTeufel1980 for Devil Kernel.)
1. Visit this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239453
2. Very bottom of this thread there are files for download. Download "Devil2-2.3.2-t0lte-DUAL-20140102.zip" and save it in your phone's SD card. Make sure the file name as others will get you stuck in booting. If you download wrong kernel, you have to restart the whole process from the very top of this instruction.
3. Turn your phone off and enter into recovery mode again. Select "install zip", find the "Devil2-2.3.2-t0lte-DUAL-20140102.zip" file, then flash your phone.
4. One the flash is done, reboot your phone.
By now, your phone is rooted with Devil Kernel. All functions should work fine.
Now the wifi tether...
1. Go to Play Store and search wifi tether.
2. From the list of apps, find Wifi Tether: Network Sharing by Topapploft.
3. Do not install this app and look for a link under Description for 10.1.0 version.
4. Download the app from this link and install this app (phone will ask for installation permission for unknown source app.)
5. After the installation, run the app and go to the settings.
Change Device-Profile: Choose Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)
Change Setup-Method: Choose Netd-Ndc (master)
Send Netd Max Client Cmd: checked
Send No Tether-Interface Cmd: checked
WiFi-driver reload 2: checked
MSS clamping: checked by default
Routing fix: checked by default
You are done!
On a side note, do not use wifi tether trevemod. It has same functions as the above app, but for some reason it forcefully reboots your phone and tethering do not work.
Also, do not use Wifi Tether Router as this app will cause blackout of your phone screen on some cases. I purchased this app and regret it.
One more thing, I have not tried skipping SWARM ROM flashing. So if anyone tried, please comment it for other people.
Thanks for reading this long instruction and hope your phone works as mine.
Love the idea.
In the first bit, skip mrRobinson's rom. Start with Odin installing a custom recovery such as TWRP. Then odin the wifi patch if you are not on the Knox bootloader and don't plan on using Devil Kernel or Agni. Then pull a nandroid backup.
Complete wipe.
Install the 4.3 rom of your choice. I like Jedi Master X, wifi tether is already configured of you stick with mobile devices (tablets etc). Follow instructions on install.
If you are on another rom, go ahead and follow your instructions.
Thanks for helping the community.

You shouldn't need both the WiFi patch and devil kernel for WiFi to work. Its 1 or the other. But nice thread!

I've tried WiFi patch first, but it did not work. So, I had to use devil kernel for both WiFi and tethering to work. I put both instruction just to make sure they work.
I can confirm that just using the patch does not give you wifi back on stock, rooted MK7. However, I much prefer the stock kernel to Devil Kernel in terms of smoothness.
Any idea on how to undo the WifiTethering.zip changes without having to redo the entire phone?

Thanks!!
First I want to thank you for this thread!! Since upgrading to Android 4.3 I have not been successful in getting wifi tethering to work. Prior to 4.3, trev-mod was working perfectly fine but after the update nothing seem to work except bluetooth tethering with Fox-Fi along with PDANet+ and many apps didn't work with that method.
Also I'd just like to add that I hardly ever tether at all... it's just nice to know when you are in a bind you have some sort of solution.
I'm currently on the 4.1.2 bootloader because I didn't want to have to deal with knox. Even though my warranty has already expired, for some reason I still do not want to upgrade to the new one. The wifi patch was giving me all sorts of freezes and random reboots so I decided to go back to the original bootloader, after reading EdKey's Conch Replubic thread. His ROM was very stable for me, however I recently acquired the Gear 2 and unfortunately not all was working correctly since it is heavily debloated. I'm currently using SWARM 2.1 with AGNI Kernel. Was using Devil before but battery drain appears to be very high with this ROM so I'm giving Agni a go for a couple of days. Since I am on the old bootloader, the only way to get wifi to work properly is either using Devil or Agni kernel unless there is another one out there that I'm unaware of at this time.
Anyway... I digress. My experience so far is this, when I initially start the tethering process, none of my devices see an access point until I stop tethering and start it again for a second time. Then I'm able to see the AndroidTether access point. I can connect and tether even without any sort of vpn or browser ID spoofer. I'd still recommend using a VPN anyway, just in case the operator starts packet sniffing. Who knows, maybe Trev Mod was working, I don't recall trying to re-enable tethering for a second time when I didn't see any access points so I just kind of gave up and stumbled across this thread
However, when I stop the tethering, I'm not able to reconnect to my normal home wifi until I toggle on/off the Mobile HotSpot option in the Rom. My wifi icon is enabled, but for some reason does not connect to my router until I toggle it on and then off again. This is still a better work around than having to reboot the phone each time to get my wifi to reconnect. It might have something to do with my current bootloader, but I'm not sure. I guess it will be back to the drawing board after KitKat comes out. Hopefully this will remain working for awhile...
So I just wanted to share my experience and thank you again for this thread.
Just so you know you can install jedi master rom x2. And follow my guide. It's a lot easier than doing all of this. Here's the link. http://zuck.com/xda/JediMasterX-FAQ.html#teather

Help samsung galaxy note ii t889 root access
Greetings to the entire community, I'm new here and I wanted to ask for some help on this problem that I have and maybe others have too.
I have a note II t889 which I've rooted, SuperSU appears installed on the phone, when I open any application that requires root it asks me permission, I click accept and it tells me I have been granted permissions, but when I try to use the application tells me that the root has failed, or that need root access to use the application.
Note: I have already tried this several rooting using odin and corresponding files (CF-Root-Auto for note II t889, root66_TMO_T889UVUCMK7_2.tar.md5, and others, and the result is the same, according to the rooteado odin has been done successfully)
Another thing I have android 4.3 version and I already delete knox using root browser (it asked me root access to use it and it worked to remove the data relating to knox)
Thanks
Found solution
Ok anybody outthere doing this it took me a couple of hours but I couldn't find Wi-Fi tether by Topapploft, no longer in the play store, thankfully I found something that worked, first go to play store and get network share & wifi tether by joliejoy, then it's going to ask you to download newest one, wifi tether plus, file name: AndroidWifiTether_10.1.10.apk, follow the instruction above, EXCEPT the device should be GALAXY S4!! It worked for me
My note 2 is unrooted but wifi tether works fine.
This is practically a cry for help after i searched for hours.
Model: Sm-n910P
Software version : Unknown
Android : 4.4.4
Baseband: Unknown
build: PVPU1ANK2
Stock recovery
(if anything else helps just ask)
Problem first: My note 4 has no network of any kind (wifi doesnt start , doesnt recognize sim card )
When i try attaching a usb cable i get Device is not recognized (checked drivers, cables so its software and it's the mobile)
The only communication with the device is via the SD Card.
Tried flashing a stock 4.4.4 via stock recovery. Nope! It says Update from external card is disabled.
I'm looking for a way to root , or flash anything.
Every thought, suggestion, idea is welcomed.

Never been OTA updated to lollipop OE1? That one doesn't allow downgrading to older versions.
Device not recognized with USB in what mode and operation? Security protocols for KitKat and Lollipop are restricted. Device should be recognized in custom recovery or download mode. Did you try Odin? Power down, download mode and flash the NK2 stock tar. If you're still having problems ##786#. Still having issues, try the NIE stock tar. Make sure you power down before flashing stock tars. Link to KitKat tars mentioned above; follow OP, post 1 for instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56853341
For root, you need CF Auto Root for Note 4. You can also try TWRP Manager for custom recovery. It's in Google Play. But you don't have to root to flash in Odin. Samsung KIES is alternate method for restoring factory firmware or updates but some are confused by the serial number request; not recognized. Haven't tried it myself.

Tx for the reply.
Device is not recognized in neither mode (normal, download or recovery).
I tried ##786# but i dont know my msl and i cant find a wy to get it (im outside the US so the phone is not activated). I tried some "msl reader find my msl" programs but they cant get it. Any1 has some apk that may work in my case?
As for the flashing as I stated all I need is a way to flash stock but i cant get the PC to recognize the phone so im stuck.
EDIT 1 As far as I know never been updated (bought the phone in ebay)
I don't know if there's anything that can be done but get a refund. Sounds like you bought a brick. Was it always a brick?
Did you try another USB port? Try the rear port. If not, try a hard reset: wipe cache and dalvik and factory reset and try to reboot. Long shot would be a hard reset and OB7 update.zip; unless it's completely stock, the update will be rejected. But I'm thinking that can no longer just be placed on external sdcard. That may have to placed on the file system as if the phone downloaded it, itself.
It's safer to hard reset. If not rebooting to normal operation, time to pursue a refund.

So I was thinking about the situation you're in. I recalled the phone can be unlocked to use internationally on 3G only. Is it unlocked? It would also
need to set your carrier APN/Access points to get data.
If you own the phone, Sprint will give you the MSL number. Sprint can help unlock it and there's also this method but I don't know much about about it. There's also the hard reset method that can be done within settings.
Here's a method that was requested with a pledged bounty. But try Sprint first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...print-samsung-unlocker-unlock-sprint-t2928250
My initial impression was phone is bricked but not sure if a locked phone's WiFi is bound to regional USA that would cause WiFi connection issues? It's still possible the USB issue is not using a USB 2.0 port or a bad cable. It may not be bricked. Try reinstalling driver and/or another PC.

Well I tried everything u mentioned , full factory restore, wipe everything. I even tried update from external (since stock has no option for updating from the internal sd) but i get an error (update from external storage is disabled). The phone is practically a brick for the network part but I'm not sure I can return it back in the states as I'm in Europe. Any way i can root via some apk ?

I didn't think the root is possible without Odin for either the custom recovery or root.
eBay return practice would be to notify seller of issue. If no response, contact eBay.

Wouldnt the entire phone be soft-bricked (not just the network part) if you did the factory reset and wiped your phone but cant get the cable to recognize your phone on your pc ???
Or is that your current situation?
Well everything but network works. I can install apk's from sdcard, open apps etc. Next thing is the screen just got black and is not giving signs of life (didn't do anything it was charging) so it's going in a repair shop. Thanks everyone for the efforts. Case may be considered closed.

Well, good luck. Hope it works out for you.
As an after thought, have you tried connecting another Samsung phone to the computer?

Thanks and yes my other Note 4 connects just fine
Hello All,
I have a T mobile samsung SHG-M919 (pre-owned) that I bought fully paid from T mobile store.
here's my journey to current issue:
1. update to Cynogenmod latest version (download in SD card and install through recovery mode) -- Successful
2. work email addition requires encryption - OK, permission granted.
3. after encryption, phone does not reach homepage. reboots again and again.
4. decided to re-install factory firmware through samsung kies.
5. Kies requires S/N for phone and for some weird reasons after refurbishment T mobile did not included this info on battery compartment sticker. there is IMEI, FCC_ID, and everything else but not the serial number.
its not listed on receipt, box, or t mobile customer service records.
Any suggestions on what I can do?
Thanks in advance!!

Elderstahl,
That is quite the problem. However, the fix is pretty simple.
Are you familiar with Odin? Get it here if you don't have it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
Use Odin from your computer to flash the firmware from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile/general/firmwares-official-mdl-mk2-nb4-t2816508
Be sure to slap their thanks buttons for providing links to all of the downloads.
Once you do that, you will be returned to stock.
If you don't have a windows computer and use Linux, you can also download Heimdall. If you have Heimdall, you can flash a TWRP image from here:
https://dl.twrp.me/jfltetmo/
And boot into recovery, wipe, and install a new rom. Like SlimLP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile/development/rom-slimlp-jfltetmo-t3377731
Either way, this should get you up and running. Let me know if you need more help.
Perfect, Worked like a charm.
I am back on factory firmware.
Can not thank you enough!!
Cheers!

First things first. I surrender. I'm a noob with android. I had windows phone previously and only now came to android.
Here's the scenario:
1. My z2 force was properly rooted with magisk and twrp. I followed the guide in xda only.
2. My device was brought from India so carriers like sprint, t-mobile are not applicable I think.
What I Did:
0. Wanted to unroot my device. So, I decided to first uninstall the modules in magisk that I had installed.
1. Tried to uninstall magisk modules and rebooted from the magisk application.
2. Got into Boot loop, so went to recovery mod and wiped everything. Hard reset was done.
3. Installed magisk app again and clicked uninstall to remove root. I wanted to install the latest security update. Update kept failing so I decided to unroot. I choose uninstall completely option.
4. Rebooted the phone manually after clicking uninstall in magisk manager. Using the 'root checker' app I checked if unrooting was successful but it said, 'root was not properly installed' or something like that. So, I installed magisk manager again and again uninstalled root completely.
5. Still same issue. Root checker said the same thing again. So, installed magisk manager again and this time I wanted to remove root using ES file manager as I saw in an online guide. But I couldn't give it root permission because it was not properly installed as said by root checker. So, I decided to root my phone properly but stupid me, clicked 'install' in magisk manager and chose the recommended option (don't remember exactly what it was). It downloaded magisk zip and did some changes and asked to reboot. After rebooting, my phone went straight to the black screen with an android icon and 'no command' written below it. It kept going there again and again.
6. I assume that is the recovery mode. I press volume up and power button and choose the wipe everything again(Like I did before) to hard reset phone. Wiping was successful but it still kept booting to that black screen.
Additional Info:
1. Phone wasn't carrier version. It was bought in India. It is running Oreo 8.0.
2. In bootloader menu : (Not stating all)
BL: MBM-3.0-nash_retail-641a15b-180306
Product/Variant: nask xt1789-06 64GB PVT
Console[NULL] :null
Tools Mode Config: DISABLED
Power OK
flashing_unlocked
Software Status : Modified
Transfer Mode : USB Connected.
3. Yes, Bootloader menu is accessible.
4. Choosing recovery mode in bootloader menu reboots phone and takes me to that blank screen I mentioned before.
5. Connecting to USB to my PC when in bootloader menu, it connects as 'Fastboot nash S'. ADB terminal says no devices found.
What I want:
1. Boot into OS.
2. Remove root completely so I can install system update.
Please help or offer suggestions as I do not have a secondary device with me. If I have to absolutely go to a service center, I will.
You should flash it back to stock.
You posted that your phone is nash xt1789-06 64GB PVT, you can grab the latest firmware here.
The flashing instructions are here in post #5, and any question you might have is most likely answered in that thread.
Just download the firmware, boot into bootloader mode, and follow the instructions.
FYI in fastboot mode adb commands don't work, it's fastboot. To verify that you're connected and ready type
Code:
fastboot devices
and you should see your serial# like you do in adb.
That should put you back to stock and good to go.

Thank you for the reply. I figured it out and went ahead with it. But now, I'm not seeing the May security update. The device shows it has March update and that no other update is available. Any idea why? Also, root checker still says 'root not properly installed'. How to unroot completely? Thanks a lot!

Did you look to see if the May Security Update has been released for your specific device? When you downloaded the stock firmware did you look to see what month security patch it contained? Have you tried to perform a system update to see if you can OTA to the latest security patch?
Now, if you completely flashed back to stock then root is removed. Root checker says that because root access is not installed at all. Flashing back to stock removes any trace of root, IIRC.
Sent from my Moto Z2 Force using XDA Labs
Don't forget, if you followed the flashing instructions from the other post they were omitting the gpt.bin and bootloader. So if you didn't flash those then that's why you're probably not seeing any updates, you need to be on full stock all matched up. Just reflash the firmware you downloaded in its entirety. @fast69mopar is right, once you flash a new boot.img root is gone, and since you flashed back to stock it's definitely gone.

If you flash with factory image you should be unroot completely and root checker will keep telling you "root not properly installed" if you are not rooted just ignore root checker if you not planning to be rooted.
Hi there I have a xt1789-06 I was not getting updates and flashed the first Oreo update from here https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/nash/official/RETAIL/
My phone now does the updates and everything works fine.
However I did try to flash a custom ROM and root I made a mistake and ended up both a hard brick, because I was on Oreo I thought that flashing the Oreo blank flash would rectify the problem, but it was not working so I tried flashing the N blank flash and it worked.
I've come from using Samsung phones so I'm use to Odin and have not used fastboot commands. After reading many threads I know what I had done was not decrypting my device which ended up with a hard brick I will in the future flash a custom ROM now I know a little bit more.
Blank flash files are here
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/nash/blankflash/
Then once back to fastboot flash the flash all from the link at the top of my post.

Hi, sorry I was busy with work. I managed to use my phone that way. I didn't use the instructions in that post. Instead, I download flashallutilities (In how to return to stock post in xda for z2 force), then ran the batch file which did all the work. I noticed other problems too,
1. My Jio sim(4g LTE) does not show 'enhanced LTE mode' in options. Also when I call someone, it fails immediately saying 'call failed. try another method.' However, internet connection works from the sim. My other sim works fine for calls and data.
2. I'm seeing other keyboards in manage keyboards section. I don't recall seeing google pinyin input, zhuyin input, etc before. What's worse is my office's app shows option to switch to chinese version of the website for logging in. My language and time zone are set correctly though - English India and GMT +5:30.
3. The web browser I used before couldn't be found in the play store anymore. My launcher still shows the icon with a green arrow in left bottom of the icon to direct me to playstore to download it but playstore says item not found. The app name is simply 'browser'. I searched for it on desktop website too (without logging in), still couldn't find it. Guess it's a coincidence,
Also: Herehttps://www.getdroidtips.com/moto-z2-z2-play-z2-force-stock-rom/#Moto_Z2_Force_Android_80_Oreo_Firmware, the carrier global version says 'OCX' instead of 'OPX'. Any idead about that?

Your Z2 is a xt1789-06 correct? It's an international version, the flashall in the utilities zip from the return to stock thread is for US based phones, TMO and Sprint specifically. What was or wasn't flashed using that flashall I couldn't tell you, I don't have an international phone. That's why I linked to the post that deals with that version of the Z2 and has all the answers and links you need to sort your phone. Others in that thread might be better suited to help you along. This is the thread that deals with the xt1789-06.
As for calling and sim, might be related to how you flashed or simply an apn issue. You can go to network settings, mobile, access point names, and reset those to default. That should pull the apns from your sim so you'll have the correct apns.
As for keyboards and browsers, I don't know what is included in the international stock versions, but they are subject to change based on initial setup/default language and rom version. As for the OCX vs OPX, I'm not sure what the difference is. I know 'O' is for Oreo but for the rest I don't know. Maybe one is gsm one is cdma? I don't know. I do know that the thread I linked to will have more info and be able to help you better since it's for your version of the Z2. Sorry I can't help you more, but post any questions you have over there and they should be able to sort you out.
