Hello One X users
Since my capacitive keys and GPS stopped working, Im looking for a ROM which is very clean without sense and just pure android with works GPS and soft keys...(I dont dont how did GPS stopped working, couple days ago I needed it but it didnt fixed even after 5min with gps fix app)
Which ROM do you recommend...?
Thanks guys
I would use an older Paranoid Android ROM, like 3.65. It will have the soft buttons in use by default as it uses the Hybrid mode to make Android think it is a tablet etc.. Give it a go. 3.65 is quite good on HOX.
I think I will go with kitkat..

Try them all, it's only a flash away If you flash fauxs kernel you can try them all without having to flash the boot.img each time, you just have to flash fauxs modules after flashing the rom. I'm using slim rom, it's a clean rom but still got plenty of things to play with.

On a side note rom comparison threads ain't allowed so this might get locked but I got my opinion in

2.3.3
Stock Kernel
Unlocked Bootloader
3.0.1.B.0.270
Cant seem to find any roms for it, Just want someone stock based perhaps with the bloatware removed.
Ive been using the stock 2.3.4 rom for now
The ROM scene has really blown up and i haven't had time to test them all out... or teach myself the in's and outs for that matter
I plan on diggin deeper into it when i have more free time. Ill be sure to post my results

The r800at has yet to get a stock 2.3.4;
the latest is still 2.3.3
Would love to get more updates on what we can do with this device
Im also interested in this expecially a version with non of the bloatware but just keep xperias starter games or move them to the SD
Hope this turns out well
ok, so long story short, I wanted to upgrade to android 4.4 KitKat on my S3, and after a bootloader and modem update, I did.
the bootloader/modem update I installed was the VLUEMK5 update, because my old bootloader was not new enough for KitKat to install.
everything seems to be okay, aside from the usual bugs that come with early distros of new software, but one thing that i noticed is that my phone drops any incoming call the second you answer it. no ifs, ands or buts about it. Im not sure if this is related to KitKat or my modem firmware, so i figured I'd ask since nobody else seems to have presented this issue.
I also cannot find the progress thread for the I747M cyanogenMod 11 that is hosted on get.cm, so if someone could point me to that itd be greatly appreciated.
but back to my problem; does anybody know what it might be, and how I can go about resolving it? or do i just go back to 10.2 for now?
please help! I'm expecting calls from employers and I cant answer them.
Whatever information you need I can do my best to find.
me too
Hi, I know this is an old issue, but I am having a very similar problem on my GS3 (AT&T) currently. I flashed to Liquidsmooth kitkat 4.4.4 and wasn't originally having this problem, but now it started. Did you find a solution to your problem? I have reflashed the rom a few times as well.

Check out this other task.
It was originally posted by a Nexus 5 user, but has been confirmed for other devices (including GS3) since. It seems to be an AT&T network issue in the mid-atlantic/tri-state area. Are you near Philadelphia, by chance? I'm convinced this is the root of my issue at least.
The latest CM11 releases require a KK bootloader and modem. MK5 is JB.

The ROM I've been trying is Liquidsmooth KK, so I don't think that is my issue.
I assume you're trying the latest version of liquid? I know that liquid used to use cm11 as a base for their ROM.
Try cm10.2 to see if this still happens. If it doesn't, this would lead me to conclude it is a ROM, bootloader, and modem compatibility issue.
So I had been running carbon Rom 4.4.2 for a while and I just decided to update to touchwiz kitkat because I just got a gear and a note 8. When running aosp roms I had no issues with Bluetooth tethering, once I set it to on, it just stayed on. Now I updated to the kitkat boot loader and flashed wicked x 6.5, and it's worth mentioning the hotspot wasn't working out of the box, so I had to flash the fix he linked to in the thread. Once I check Bluetooth tethering, it stays on until I reboot. Usually that wouldn't be a big thing but I find myself rebooting a lot. I switch xposed modules, swap batteries etc, and I find it really irritating how it keeps resetting, because I like it when things just work. I have too many gadgets to be messing with the settings in all of them every time I want to go online. It's there any fix I can flash or like init.d or build prop tweaks I can make to get Bluetooth tethering to be on by default?
Also, what xposed modules would you guys recommend for remapping hardware button functions, and is there any way to add a fully customizable quick settings slide similar to the one in cm11?
Last but not least, my understanding is that once I've updated to the kitkat boot loader, there is no going back to roms that weren't made for that modem, even if they're kitkat roms (aosp/aospa or touchwiz or aokp etc). Is that correct?
Please and thank you
So... should I assume that this means there is no way to do this, and no one has any suggestions for re-mapping hardware ways, or anything? I've waited at least a day, usually I hate to do this but unfortunately, Ive gotten no replies

I have no experience with Bluetooth tethering, sorry I can't help you there.
For remapping hardware buttons, I don't know either. Wanam Xposed will help with the notification toggles, besides the mods that have been posted. Look out for Wicked v7 tomorrow or you can flash the separate mods necessary to get the same thing.
I hope that's what your talking about. I haven't tried CM since v10 or 10.1.
You can still flash any old ROM that you could before. Note that I have read about at least some people having some troubles using old ROMs with the new modem, but again, I haven't tried so I can't tell you first hand.
You just can't ever Odin anything older than ND8 again, and never flash any old modem either - it'll hard brick your phone. I'm guessing you might've read that but I just wanted to make sure you know.
I love Wicked X and just ND8 in general.

i ended up going with 'xbutton' for mapping hardware buttons, tasker and auto bluetooth tether for the auto tethering (only when something that may be tethered is connected), according to the thread i was linked to, aosp roms will not brick you, and there are zips to add more toggles in the wicked X thread. thanks everyone.
Hi.
I have a T989 and I recently installed Cyanogenmod 10.2 on it (the official version). But I am not satisfied and want to go back to this ROM which I was originally running:

That will work just fine. You might have to flash the version of gapps that corresponds to the version of Android you're installing to get Google Apps to work if they're not included.
I'd try out the final version of paranoid Android rom based on 4.4.4. It looks pretty sick.
Thanks a lot.:good:
Yeah sure I will take a look at Paranoid
One thing tho. From my experience anyway.
When flashing 4.1.2 touch wiz ONLY.....I always use these wipe scripts....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2235141
And I flash 2.5.0.0 or 2.6.0.0 twrp first with odin or a flashable zip, then the wipes , then the ROM. Gapps are included in TW roms.
Then, if you're gonna flash 4.2.2 or higher aosp ROMs....update to a newer twrp, use its wipes and flash ROM then gapps.
You can try without any of that, but if you have issues....try it this way.
---------- Post added at 08:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:41 PM ----------
Don't use the wipes on anything but twrp 2.5 to 2.6.0.0 and never on 4.2.2 or higher....only 4.1.2 TW based ROMs.
Why is this occuring? I'm using speed test, and the three roms i've tried kyobi has the strongest data speeds. I'd rather use poprocks rom from mega, but, the data speeds were about 20mb less.... Is this a modem or kernal issue? i've flashed the same kernal on all three.. I know poprocks was 5.0.1 vs 5.1.1 too. But even for Paul Pizz rom, data was slower... according to speedtest.net
Need a bit more info. Is your device a N910V? What firmware / Modem / kernel are you currently running? I don't know anything about Pop Rocks ROM, is it an International port?

poprocks is built by mega (androiduncensored.com) he's been a developer for a long time, also builds verizon specific roms. before he built firekat. for kitkat... very reliable roms. i'm n910v , dev edition. firmware i'm on BOK3, kernal i've mostly been using multi system 5.5 , and not sure about the modem.
I'm just spit-ballin here but have you tried to flash Battlehero 4/18/16 Data Fix V3.3
---------- Post added at 10:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:16 AM ----------
I just looked Pop Rocks up. Form what I am seeing it is an 5.0.1 LP ROM, Is that what you are currently running?

Well I was doing a bit more digging and I do NOT reccommend flashing the Data Fix I mentioned. Sorry, I do believe it is ONLY for the 5.1.1 LP and NOT 5.0.1 LP.
i've only flashed datafix when on ketal or kyubi rom. those roms have the fastest data speeds, i wonder if the international version bypasses some verizon speed limiter? or are the speeds mis read on those?
yea pop rocks is 5.01 - for verizon at least, mega doesn't think any of the changes of 5.1.1 are worth upgrading too
Yeah, I am running Kyubi ROM myself at the moment. I also have a backup made of Dr.Ketan ROM. I really like it as well. Dr.Ketan ROM has alot more tweaks available, but ya really have to watch out which ones you apply. Some tweaks break the devices call audio. After I get a ROM all set up and functioning properly, I always make a Nandroid befoer applying mods & tweaks. I have been doing alot of reading this morning about how to make or port ROM's so I can make my own. Android Kitchen seems pretty easy to use but I don't think it can be used with our device (N910V) and there is no more development for it since it has been retired.
