Hello,
I am on miui_p6u06_4.1.13_transl.byOxalis_4.2.2 currently and would like to try the HYD52ROM V7 KK rom.
I was previously on b116CN before i switched to miui (multi-hw-6u06 jb 3.10.11 based on b117)
I tried to use my CWM v6.0.3.6 which i used to backup stock b116 to restore back to b116, thinking i would upgrade to b118 stock before trying hyd52, since latter required minimum b118CN, but restore failed (format/unmount /system failed). Looked around how to fix this but in vain.
Now I have reflashed back to a little newer miui version - miui_p6u06_4.1.13_transl.byOxalis_4.2.2
What is the recommended way to proceed in this situation, any advice?
This miui rom is based on b118. Can i install TWRP and flash hyd52 directly? Or need to use stock recovery to flash a stock b118 (or b125?) first then proceed to hyd52?

Hi everyone,
I am currently using PAC-MAN for 4.2 by sudu_petru and would very much like to try KK.
Unfortunately, I think that the only I can update my firmware is via the dload method, wich I
can't use because I'm currently using TWRP recovery 2.6. I am tempted to flash the B118 recovery
but I'm afraid it might brick my device. Is flashing the recovery ONLY as risky as flashing the whole
firmware? Or is it possible to flash the device using the dload method through TWRP?
Regards,
Chovine.

Thank you for your answer, but I'll reformulate my question more simply. I was originally on
B120CN, I installed PAC-MAN and TWRP. I would like to revert to stock recovery so
is it SAFE to flash B118 recovery.img or could it brick my phone?
Thank you for your time .
I flashed CN118 recovery without any problem (except that the phone was vibrating while it was on recovery). If you want you can also flash KK recovery which I prefer and worked better.
It's safe to flash the stock recovery, you will not brick the device with it.
Hi,
i have E988 india E98810E version, i have rooted and installed CWM via freegee.(only recovery installed no LG Security bypass)
I was able to flash roms based on CM or AOSP based but when i try flashing any Rom based on stock then recovery gives me a message of success within 3 seconds and no luck with flashing (Still at old Rom).
I tried with TWRP also but no luck any idea why is this happening ?

Have you tried flashing the stock rom from your stock back up? I have not been able to flash a stock based rom from cm or aosp. Give that a try
Can anyone please upload or help me get Indian Stock ROM for Huawei Ascend P6.
I flashed a custom kitkat rom using TWRP, now I want to revert back to stock Jellly Bean rom. The methods described in other threads doesn't work, tried flashing stock recovery, but no use, it says update fail. Please help me sort this out.
Otherwise I have an International Stock ROM B111, but stock recovery isn't working, so how can I make it flashable?
hey guys,
i will be flashing Echoe Zen Rom v3 [2.20.40.165] which is the latest rom & will then flash the latest kernel available (Ael Zen v3.5) which was released yesterday... The only doubt i have here is if i flash this rom will be able to flash the latest stock firmware from asus? and if yes how can i flash it... I have seen people having issues with twrp & updating stuff so do i also have to edit the updater script? Please someone enlighten me on this issue of updating to latest stock rom after flashing echoe rom... I know the flashing of entire rom i.e boot.img, system.img etc with adb but is there any other way like ota or flashing directly of stock rom via twrp? i dont wanna edit the updater script & stuff everytime we get an update...
The best way back to complete stock is to use root with CWM recovery and flash the stock zip from your external SD card as the phone goes back to complete stock. Bootloader is locked again after you do this.
The title almost says it all.
I am on a custom 4.4.2 ROM (using ND1 firmware) and want to look into upgrading to 5.1.1 or higher. Obviously rooted with TWRP recovery.
I know I'll need to upgrade my TWRP from 2.6.0.3 or whatever it is on right now to 3 or better - but I need to know if I will have to flash official stock 5.1 to upgrade to the newest firmware, if there is a newest firmware, to get the install clean with minimal errors or can I just flash a custom TW ROM and hope that upgrades the firmware, if there is new firmware, or is there a thread I can be directed to so I can read up on what I need to do to upgrade?
Or since I am already rooted with TWRP, can I just upgrade or flash my twrp to a known good version and flash a rom then be on my way?
Thanks in advance!
Dear Friend , It's all clear that if if you want to install any TW Lollipop ROMs, you need to first install a Lollipop firmware ( Using Odin ) to install a Lollipop bootloader ( do not even think of ticking the update bootloader in Odin because then you wouldn't be able to revert into KK firmware and then you can't run any KK ROM on Lollipop bootloader ) and then install a TWRP ( I recommend ShevT's one which is less glitchie and faster than the official ones because of the F2FS support !! ) and then you're free to go the way you like
... Hope it helps ... With Best Wishes - Hitman1376
