He has a F240 with the latest KitKat. Freegee doesn't work with the latest KitKat build.

Search for a lokified version CWM 6.0.4.4 for g pro. You'll probably find it in Asian sites where KitKat has been already released.

Flashing won't brick device once you have flashed any rom made for your device.
BTW what error you are getting while updating with ota?

Have you ever rooted device?
And if you have backup of your device then try wiping device, then may be issue gets solved. Otherwise best option is download full rom and flash using odin.

How can I flash? Do I need root? If I flash 4.1.2 then after a while make a factory reset, does it reset to 4.1.2 or 4.1.1?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
If you want to flash full rom, no factory reset needs. Just download rom for your region (not compulsory from your region, you can flash any) flash rom using odin. You don't need to have root.
After flashing rarely your device gets stuck at samsung logo, in such case you have to reboot to recovery and have to factory reset. Once you have updated to 4.1.2 it will remain 4.1.2 even after factory reset.

Either your boot loader is out of date or you're running a d2can recovery instead of a d2att recovery.

Well, if you want CWM, you should obviously get the newer version. And if you want TWRP, then use that.

Scratch that. After looking around a bit, it appears that FreeGee will cause you to bootloop if you try and use it... Or it does for some people at least
Sent from my Optimus G Pro using xda app-developers app
I would not recommend you to use freegee at moment.
You run danger to end in a recovery loop and then you probably
Have the low battery error on returning back to stock.
Madmack cwm depends on what model you have
Is there another app i can use that wont cause the bootloop
These issues are fixed now in freegee's app. Use twrp if you are going to flash an aosp Rom. CWM if you are going to flash a stock based Rom. CWM 6.0.4.7 fixes the recovery loop issue.
Sent from my LG-E988 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
At freegee the twrp version says 2.6.3.3 but when install and reboot to recovery says 2.6.3.0!

Hello, I have been trying to flash a 4.4 ROM on my Optimus G for the longest. I am currently running a 4.3 but can't a stable one as well. Every time I try to flash a 4.4 TWRP almost instantly says fail every time even though it is the most updated version, does anyone know why this is?

You have to use a KK recovery. CWM or TWRP will be marked as working for KK. KK being 4.4

Look for octhrope's flashable zip in the TWRP thread. It's marked as working for KK. It'll have the same numbers but modified for Kk.

Well, if you have the right TWRP, and are wiping /system, /data, /cache, /dalvic, I'd say bad dl , or your SD might be messed up.
That's the only reasons I can think of.

See if you can flash a stock ROM. Also, reinstall recovery. DL the one from Shelnutt2 on the codefire server. There's also a link for it in the root guide.
After reinstalling recovery, and if it'll install a stock ROM, try a 4.4 rom again. If it still fails, I'd say try wiping your SD.
Other than that, I'm at a loss.
