Lockscreen camera widget stock m8? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Excuse me if this is a stupid question but I'm just used to be able to access the camera from the lockscreen. And now I can't find a way to do it. I'm keeping the phone stock for the first three months. So if the only way to do it is to install root access or a custom rom I'm not interested right now.

The easiest way is turning the phone on its side and press the volume button

Thanks for the quick reply! That works great when you're using HTC BlinkFeed, of course i forget to mention that i use Nova Launcher. So if I want to use another launcher I guess I'm back to square one again.

I swear that I tried this before posting. But just now when I was trying it out it works launch the camera app with the volume up in button in landscape mode when I'm using nova launcher. That it I guess, problem solved.

Menu button in apps

This is annoying. I've had my one x for a week and all the apps I still use still have this button with no update from the devs. Do you guys think devs will update their apps to get rid of this on the one x? It takes away too much screen.
I'm a bit annoyed as well, devellopers need to update their apps to have the button on top, this takes a long time before all apps are updated, leave a comment in the Google Play store with all apps you use and hopefully they will update!

Also, a lot of apps don't even need the menu button at all.

including xda app as well

I'm running firmware 1.19, and I have the option to hide the menu bar. I wonder if its a feature that HTC will re-enable.

Where do you find that option?
a long press multi task button = menu type of ordeal would be awesome!
But i bet that is custom rom territory, don't see HTC being so intuitive

I have a arrow down, on my menu bar and it hides it and to bring it back up all I have to do is long press the multitask button.

So, I'm not sure if this was a feature they had and then removed from later firmware. If so I hope they bring the feature back, before I get the notice for firmware 1.28

Un root Arc S

Sorry in advance if this ha already been asked, but I'm using the forum using tapatalk and I'm not as confident using tapqtqks search feature compared to the search feature on the web version.
I had to do a repair flash of ICS to resolve some issues I was having which ment that I lost root access to my phone and now have been left with no way to update LiveWare Manager and wondered if once I've rooted my phone and set it up how I like it is it possible to then un-root so I don't mess my phone up again without loosing all my customization, as there are some custom features that I miss like the onscreen ICS Buttons that I've now got so used to that I keep pressing the menu hardware button to bring up the task list by mistake?

How can I make the back button kill app?

I have been using a couple of roms where it appears that holding the back button will kill an app. How would I go about setting this up myself if I have a rom without this feature.

if developers can do this, it must be possible ... and I think the sense of the question was to know how to do (and to develop) this (an app/ workaround) separately (without a ROM) ... I would be glad to know this, too ...

Space button = silent?

As I look at my keyboard, I see that my hard keyboard has a silent icon on the spacebar in the top corner. Does this mean that it is a silent icon? If so, how do I use it?
Same here, I'm super curious I've tried everything I could think of, Maybe if I figure it out ill tell you but I know someone is gonna beat me to it:/

Unlock your phone, slide out the keyboard out and hold the space bar. It would put your phone in silent/vibrate and press/hold the space bar again to return back to the volume level. This somehow doesn't work if the phone is locked or in the music player.

I tried that, and all it did was open a search page that started filling with spaces...I am using LPP as a launcher if it matters.

Just tried switching my launcher back to TouchFLO, and it worked. Must be built into the stock launcher.

[Q] how to disable the "logo" hardware button? sense 6

First off, I am using the "nusense six" Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693502) and have the HTC one m7.
I have never used the stock sense six firmware but I have noticed that on this Rom, if you tap on the screen just above the HTC logo, it acts as if you pressed a hardware menu button (the menu for the app you are on pops up).
This feature is interesting, but the problem is that when I type and push the spacebar ever so slightly too low on the screen, the keyboard closes and the menu pops up. This has finally become annoying enough for me to make this post and I hope someone can help me disable this feature. Thanks!
Also if anyone knows of a relitively stock sense six Rom without this thing, please let me know.

It's just a kernel setting. You should be able to disable it using Trickster Mod.

I have browsed Trickster and can find no way to change this button layout. When I installed NuSense, I chose the option for logo button to be "home" plus "recent apps" out of curiosity. Now I want it back to stock. Where in Trickster mod can one change this?

That's not in trickster. Just reflash the Rom without wiping and select the stock option.
