im talking about putting roms on my phone...not rooting
Yes, definitely doable. But you will probably have to change your APN for data and mmsc URL for MMS. I would back up your APN with an APN Backup app and the other is easily fixed through dialer codes.

All speculation and although I cant provide an asnwer, im guessing that problem probably wont be solved until Devs can actually autopsy a working TMO LTE...
Unlike other carriers with working LTE, TMO devs cant fully compare and contrast our phones setup to anything, whether it be another TMO Note 2 with working LTE or even another varient of the GNII with work LTE (as we all know ATT modems with LTE arent exactly conveniently flashable to TMO (yet), or even any other TMO LTE phone.. NOTHING, ZILCH, NATA to Bwork with"
In conclusion, once TMO flips on the LTE switch and devs have a complete setup to work with (thankfully our GNII is the first in line) then note only is that problem solved, but then think how many other (capable phones will be flashing ported GNII LTE modems just to get their LTE capable phones on our 42+...
The flood gates will be opened and these problems will be washed away

I bought an used galaxy note II. I already have a N7100 but I need a T889 because I´m moving to T-Mobile. The thing is that supposedly I bought a T889 and the back says so but when I turn the device on the system says it is a I317. By the way the phone has been rooted and has CWM on it already installed.
Do you think it is possible the flashed the wrong ROM? I am not getting the HDSPA bands on T-Mobile that run at 1700MHz but I suppose this might be a modem issue.

Ok first off. I have the same phone, flashed with a AT&T Rom. And it says the same thing i317 but if you look at the modem it should be a T-Mobile. Here's a pic for ya:

There practically the same phone. But the modem AREN'T interchangeable!! Between the two devices!!!
So if you want it back to a fully tmobile device just flash yourself a tmobile stock Rom, or choose a custom without all the blot!!
Just my 2¢®

Thank you for the answer. I already figured out something like that... In fact the build is skynote as well. I reflashed a T-mobile modem just to be sure and it gets all the signals right now. I´am downloading a deodexed stock rom, and from there I´ll try to move to a good ROM. Any suggestions?
Hey guys just wondering if we will be able to use roms from the International note 3 and possibly AT&T roms, like we could on the s4
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
Its always possible to use one but there is also the potential issue of partition differences.
Also if the rom has a kernel, usually those for sure cannot go from carrier to carrier without checking first.

You will probably be able to yes. But you will have to use a T-Mobile kernel and you will loose wifi calling.

Probably not till way down the line if ever. The chipset is completely different. Don't worry there will be better roms for Snapdragon then Exynos anyway. Samsung always holds a little back with there own chipsets.
has anyone tried to use International Roms on their N900T?
Yea I remember using Intl roms on the S4, I seem to recall the One could as well. Lets hope so because I will be in heaven the day that ViperRom comes to the Note 3.
A few weeks ago I went overseas on vacation and had no service at all, not even roaming. Only way I had service was when I was at a WiFi hotspot. This is the first time this has happened. Is it the ROM I'm on? Do I have to call Sprint? Some feedback would b help guys, thanks.

That's because you have a CDMA phone and most of the world uses GSM (sim card). Unless you get an international version you are pretty much stuck with no signal overseas.

Had the Samsung Epic when I was overseas and had roaming though. Also have a sim card as well with the phone I'm on now.

So I was plagued with the task of rooting an s3...
I managed to root and flash twrp. However I want to make sure before I flash a rom. Is the bootloader locked on NJ1 firmware?
SANSUNG-SGH-I747
VERSION 4.4.2
I747UCUFNJ1
it's probably been asked already but I haven't been able to find an answer. Thanks
The bootloader cannot be locked if the phone was successfully flashed with twrp.
The bootloader on the att s3 has never been locked, unlike many other phones from att.

Awesome thanks! Would you happen to have any insight on why the phone would be stuck in factory mode? And would flashing a new rom take it out?
What do you mean by factory mode? What message appears on screen when you boot the phone?

You have the international version of the s3? The North America version is either i747 or i747m?
