Hey Folks
I have a question. I just updated my Note 8 3G to CM11. I did a complete wipe before upgrading.
I notice now that i only have 1.2GB free space out of the 9GB. This seems very strange. Its a clean install of CM11 and i havent even downloaded any apps.
Is the 1.2GB Free real? or is something else happening here..
Any help?
I will post a screen pic soon.
Attached is a screen capture. Clearly there is something wrong. The bar plot shows I should have much more than 1.7GB

Download DiskUsage. Free app on Play that will show you what's taking up space.
Did you wipe System also? I ran into that issue awhile back. Turns out CWM was keeping separate backup blobs in the internal. Switched to TWRP. Wiped typical (including System) flashed the ROM of choice and no problem. CWM seems to resist doing complete wipes sometimes
I did a factory reset and it solved the problem. FYI. I am using twrp. So might be a cm11 issue

Hi. I've been getting the insufficient storage' crap when trying to backup updated apps and have tried dalvik wipe, un install and reinstall of both app and pro key ect but problem persists. If I try to view the wiki or change log page I get 'account suspended' message. Sucks in short.
Anyone else having or had this problem? Any solutions?
Thanks.

As far as the insufficient storage, that sounds like you have your phone's memory all but filled up. Check in settings. Doubt wiping dalvik will really clear up that much room. If it is space, delete some Movies, music, and or pictures.
Edit: I just checked before and after dalvik wipe and the free space on the phone is the same. Which makes sense, since the dalvik cache will rebuild upon first boot.
Still have 8.5gig space. Strange as was running 4.04 after flashing the zip over 4.02 n had no problem. Flashed factory image of 4.04 today n now its a problem? Either way the "account suspended" thing really doesn't make sense

Delete your old nandroid and titanium backups or move them to your computer. Then curse whoever was in charge of how much storage space the GSM model received.

With around 90 gig of music on Google music, instant upload and the last four or so years worth of pics on Google photo/picasa, a good quarter of my library on Google books and a film or two for "just in case" viewing on my phone memory along with 62 apps including games like gta3 and shadowgun I still have over 8gig free... yes more space is better than less but in this case it hardly matters anyway, its sorted now so thanks so much for all the constructive assistance, maybe I can repay the favor one day

Hello all. I have recently started receiving low storage warnings even though bit appears I have plenty of space with both internal and external memory.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks

I don't know what is going on, but that image shows you only have 401 MB available.
Something is chewing up your storage space or at least making your phone think it is almost gone.
Do you have a bunch of nandroid backup's saved to your internal drive or something?

Yeah, I'm thinking you have either a lot of zips or you have nandroids on there that are taking up space. Check out
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.diskusage
It will give you a visual display of the folders that are using the most space and what files are the culprits.

Thank you both your recommendations I used the supplied app and solid explorer and I was able to find several gigs of picasa 3d gallery cache files and similar situations with ROM Manager "blobs" seems to be resolved now.
Wonder why it occurred in the first place..odd
Thanks

I agree that it likely has something to do with those backups. I downloaded the app but can't seem to figure out where space is being taken up. I transfer all my backups to my external sd, but don't know what the hell is taking my space up.

Those 'blobs' are where CWM stores its backup files from what i've read, personally i use TWRP so i can't confirm this.

+1 twrp. Im a former cwm touch user absolutely hated the .92gb backups from cwm. Now I can have multiple backups on hand without sacrificing storage space.

I had the same problem, I re flashed cm10 4 times and still only had about 500mb of available space on my internal
turns out when you select "wipe/factory reset" on CWM Recovery it doesn't actually delete everything..
DiskUsage was the perfect tool for the job, there was 6 gigs of leftover gameloft stuff on the phone, removed the files and now im a happy camper with plenty of free space!
Hi all! I am a long time infuse user who finally made the switch to the note 2 and I am loving it so far. I decided to make the jump from stock and I am currently on Jedi ROM 6.1.2. Everything has been working fantastically so far, and I have been using Perseus Kernel without any issues for about 5 days. Today I was trying to update some of my apps and I got the error message below. I tryed top fix permissions, wipe cache, reinstall the ROM and delete Marley data all to no avail. I still can't update my current apps or install new ones. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

For me this was due to app2sd. I removed rom toolbox and disabled app2sd nd all was good
Did you wipe system? Did not see that listed in your attempts at a remedy when reflashing. Not saying you didn't, just throwing it out as a double check on your steps. Are you using cwm or twrp?

Thanks for all the responses! I wiped system, is 8gb available, and I did have ROM toolbox, but I deleted it. How can I disable apps to sd if I deleted the toolbox?

I recall something similar from my Dell Streak and custom ROM. It's not local storage space but something to do with download cache area. There's a way to clear it - sorry for no more detail but hopefully will put you on the right track.

Does any one know what unknown error "-24" is?
Just recently on my galaxy note 2 my Facebook app stopped displaying pictures and videos on my daily driver app that I never had problems with. Now when I flash new ROMs and try to download or restore the app using titanium it pops up with unknown error "-24". I can't figure it out...if anyone could help it would be great.

I Googled that a few days ago, had to do a fresh rom flash. Result of some corrupted library files. It's no fun.
There are some fixes out there, but I tried the basics, clearing out my Gmail account, play store cache, &c. Fallback was backing up my apps, logs, sms, fresh flash.

So didn't fix the problem......I wiped all internal memory and even factory reset and wiped cache but had no luck......I can restore my daily driver but the app on there doesn't show pictures like I was saying in op

Hi there, not entirely sure what the forum stance on discussing Lucky Patcher is, but I had a similar issue. I never used LP before and only installed it because of a suggestion I saw on here about a month ago about the error that says you have no room, etc.
Run LP. Go into "Toolbox" and then 'Remove all odex files". Fixed my issue totally. From what I understand it is safe to remove these since they only exist after an app has been uninstalled.
Sometimes tho they cause issues with other apps if not removed.
Good luck and keep us posted. =-}
Sorry for the late reply....it still didn't fix the issue....I can't figure out what's wrong....heres a screen shot....if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it

That sounds about right, but what exactly are you doing when the freezing usually occurs? What apps are running in the background while this occurs? If youre not sure, go to Dev Options and check 'Back kills all activities' and see how it operates for a day with that being checked. If that is checked, uncheck it and allow the RAM you have free to be used the way it needs to.
Also, are you Pure Stock or Stock Rooted?
You could also go to Applications Manager> Running, switch to Cached Processes and see if any of those labor intensive activities are showing High(30 +) MBs
I should have been more specific. But I was talking about internal storage.
*flips the table and walks out*
Its generally when im messaging thru the stock app with swype keyboard. The stock keyboard is too small for my fat thumbs.

But you didn't answer the internal memory question. Open MyFiles app and tap the pie chart near top right and read the middle column, Device storage, I think. 32GB capacity; what's available?
Using stock Swype or paid Swype from Play? Too many keyboards shouldn't be an issue but being rooted, I remove unwanted keyboards and stick with modified paid Swype (yes, I paid for it but modify it to get more alternate symbols and add a dedicated number row like the Samsung keyboard does). I think if I were not rooted, I'd disable them if possible if using another. I'm sure you've heard of Swype lag; it should be resolved even in the stock version. I've used both with no issue but didn't have both installed at same time.
When you upgraded to Lollipop, did you factory reset and reinstall apps and updates? Short of that, clearing data and cache for the suspect applications in app manager is the only thing I'd suggest at this point. Another OTA update is expected sooon; if rooted, harder to take OTA.

Perhaps I tripped up over the definition of Swype. When I say stock, I'm referring to the included version of Swype that Samsung provides. Maybe it updates from Google Play? IDK.
If you're using the paid version of Swype, try disabling the stock version with application manager. It's been too long for me, don't know if that app can be disabled.
But despite the ill communicated Swype versions, I'd say your issue is the fact you haven't factory reset after or before the lollipop OTA. I actually seen that myself because I took the OB7 OTA rather than wait for an Odin tar. The /data file system was mixed Lollipop and KitKat. A factory reset will get the file system correct. Maybe that helps. I can't think of a good application backup that works well for non rooted phones. But I hear this one is good. Backup before you factory reset. Maybe Android M gets some of this right, like full app and data restore and file management coherence between updates.

How much cached data has built up? I had almost three gigs. Went to settings/storage and tapped on cached data to clear it. Helped and I had a little more free memory than you. Worth a shot.

That's true; cache uncontrolled can can get out of hand, especially with browsers and ads. I don't manage mine manually but only have 39MB cache. Rooted has its advantages. I use an app with a lot of white listed apps to avoid bulk cache wiping.

Cached data and downloads is usually my problem. I also use the paid version of Swype and in hangouts it lags or won't pop up until I close and open it again.
